I worked with Ted on ordering a new pair of frames. I gave him a call ahead of time to confirm my insurance allowance. They were pretty busy when I walked in so I was able to look for the frames I wanted and be prepared for a fast checkout. Made even faster by Ted. By time he got to me, I was out the door in less than 5 minutes. That's me confirming the frames I wanted, checking out, AND him tightening my current frames that were a little loose. I purchased glasses at Visonworks at Cotswold Village in Charlottte and cannot recommend it. I had broken my regular glasses from my optometrist and walked into the Visionworks store to get a new pair. It was during a two for one promotion and the people were brusque and indifferent. I was not there for the discount but for glasses. The glasses I purchased did not fit well. I went back and got the same indifferent attention. I did not like using the Visionwork glasses (though I did get two for one) at all and went back to my optometrist and purchased the new glasses that I am using now. I haven't used the Visionworks glasses since. read more

Visionworks told me they accept Medicare but I would select from a specific group of frames & I would have to file the claim myself. I filed the claim & it was denied stating that the supplier would have to file the claim. When I ret'd to Visionworks & asked them to file, they said I would be "double dipping" & couldn't get a discount from Visionworks & a discount from Medicare. I disagree. Medicare is a benefit, not a discount. They said they would file the claim for me if I gave them $294 which was the amount of the discount. This would bring the cost of the glasses to about $600 & since medicare would only reimburse about $50-$100, I should just forget it & keep my discount. I did not give them more money & will not be returning. read more

Went to visionworks because I got something stuck in my eye and they were able to make me an appointment the next day! The staff was very friendly and walked me through the process of how they were going to treat my eye. They were gentle and took great care of me! This visionworks will now be my main eye doctor. My wife and I have used Visionworks for our reading glasses in the past and were always very satisfied with the quality of service. However, due to my insurance, I had gotten my current glasses through an online service. Without warning, the screw holding one of the arms must have self-loosened and felt out. I took the glasses to Visionworks to see if they could repair them fully expecting a nominal labor cost. Roy took my glasses and had them fully repaired in less than 10 minutes. When I asked what the cost was, to my surprise, he said there was none!! I was pleasantly surprised!! I went into the Randolph Rd. location on July 22nd for my 1st pair of glasses and was disappointed. I was told they would be ready on August 5th, I called on August 4th just to check on the order and was told it hadn't been submitted, the rep said he would contact the lab and would get back with me but I had to call them back! He said it was submitted( rush order) and it should be ready this week or early next week! I called today August 10th and again it was a mix up SOMEONE sent purple frames (I ORDERED BLACK) so the lab cancelled it and I was told my black frames are still sitting in the store and will not be sent off until tomorrow so I have to wait another week and a half to get my glasses, if "I" wouldn't have called NO ONE would've contacted me. Ordered glasses. Store ordered them. 2 weeks later I Had to call them to find out they didn't have that particular frame anymore only to discover they had ordered the wrong color. Wait. Another 2 weeks later, wrong lenses. Lied to at store saying they were the correct lenses. Got them checked somewhere else, they weren't correct. Called customer service. Got a regional Manager involved. Nice young lady calls from a city with the same name city but 3000 miles way... a week later another regional manager gets involved. "Going to get this taken care of immediately!" 6 weeks later the regional manager calls, "They don't make those frames anymore. " Ok, I am canceling the order. I want my money back and VSP charges reversed! 9 weeks now. Nothing. Still no refund. Charges to VSP reversed? Nope. Never again. read more

I took my elderly neighbors eye glasses in today to get a lens that had fallen out put back in the frame and tighten one nose wing that had come loose. The associate was courteous and professional. Not only did he place the lens in the frame but replaced both nose wings at no charge and turned down a tip! You do not see this everyday. From now on I will take my business here. I went to this location and they gave me a replacement no questions asked. Even though she went to a vision works in Kentucky! Highly recommended! I've brought my glasses to this vision works 3x now! First, my side/war piece of my glasses broke off and the tech fixed it. My husband brought them home and they were still broken so I brought them in and a staff member fixed them right away. Then I brought them in because they were scratched and I had only had them for a few months. I purchased the "scratch resistant" lenses, apparently, instead of "scratch proof" so they marked them as a manufacturer defect and fixed them complimentary. Well, not even 2 months later and they are scratched again despite my very careful wear and storage of them and wearing them all the time. I brought them in and the gentleman was pleasant and said he would replace them and upgrade the lens since this happened yet again. He said come back in 2 hours. I came back and they were ready, for perfectly, and the female who assisted me gave me a spare case and some complimentary lens wipes. I guess I am a creature of habits. I got my glasses here years ago, so this time around I came straight back to this store. They always seem to have those buy 1 get 1 free deal. How much of a deal it is... I honestly can't tell you. But from hearing friends spending hundreds on one pair, my 2 pairs for $250 (with lenses) sounded like a deal. I got one regular (with anti glaring coating) and one sunglasses (polarized). The frames are basic house brand, nothing fancy but it serves the purpose. I didn't like the "today is the last day of the sale" trick the sales girl tried to pull on me. I bought it that day because I needed new glasses badly, FYI sales chick. Here comes the fun part... Because I am almost blind, my lenses have to be special ordered. My regular pair was ready in a week. My sunglasses took an extra week. When I got my glasses, of course it took some adjustment time but I swore things were blurry. Especially my left eye. I went back to the eye doctor thinking how I could possibly fail an eye exam, only to find out Visionworks put a wrong left prescription in. That baffled me... How can a glasses place give out wrong prescription? The good part is they were quick to address the mistake. Whoever keyed in my order put my OLD left prescription in. A week later I got my glasses back and I am reevaluating them as we speak. 3 stars mainly for affordability and willingness to correct mistakes, granted the mistakes shouldn't have happened to begin with in my opinion. read more

Man when I tell you I'm a bit irritated right now. From the jump I didn't feel right about this appointment when I got there. Somehow I ended up at this place where the Dr is nit a vision works Dr but she's the Dr in vision works that I made the appointment with. I was confused but since I was there I went on with it. Got through the exam and ordered my contacts well I order them on the 6th of this month. So I've been calling for three days with no answer I've been on hold for as long as 35 minutes. I called another location and she says they were delivered yesterday day, the only package that was delivered yesterday was my daughter's shoes. I told the nice young lady... if I had the tracking # I could see where it's at and she says the won't give you a tracking # but that's usually when the order goes to the store. So anywho I just want my contacts and I will never have to track or be on hold for vision works again or I'll say not idea Blvd. read more

When I originally posted a couple months ago, I acknowledged that generally speaking my and my son's experience with Visionworks was great. The primary reason I gave them 3 stars initially related to insurance coverage miscommunication. That said, after posting my review, I was promptly contacted by Visionworks and received direct follow-up from a Manager. Long story short, they took responsibility for the miscommunication and refunded a portion of my expense. In the end, they exceeded my expectations and we will be returning to Visionworks the next time we need frames, lens, etc! read more

Incredibly overpriced. I was really shocked that their two for one ended up being over $900. And they rush you out without caring if the glasses actually fit well. I have one pair that slide down my nose and I can't really see thru the bifocal portion because it's so narrow so canny read the computer screen. Definitely would not return.
