Doctor was very friendly and kind. Girls who help with contacts and glasses are top notch! One of the receptionist/eye test persons is not a friendly as others. But other than that....glad I found a place near and its clean and welcoming. Also was dissapointed to only go home with one pair of contacts and have others mailed to me. I didnt have a RX that was uncommon to not leave with my year supply and have to wait a week to get via mail. Odd, and pay $40 for fitting/one pair when I have worn contacts before. read more

I've been coming out here since my son was about 12. He's now 46. So that 34 years for all of our eye treatment! But over the past couple of years I've been very disappointed in service and my check ups. I've been paying for retina scans for years. Well I got dilation on my right eye a head of cataract surgery. Well guess what the Kaiser Ophthalmologist found while doing my check up? I have a macular wrinkle or pucker. I was wondering why after all these retina scans none of them ever saw this problem! My kaiser Ophthalmologist said it was a old scar tissue on my macular! It's been there for sometime. So the the cataract surgery went fine, but I have distortion, blurry and slight magnified vision. So we paid out of pocket for these scans and they found nothing! I was told that everything looked fine, year after year! I also had a problem getting a prescription filled because they only use Costco! We have Kaiser and was told that by said doctor that they couldn't write out a prescription to fill it for eye drops. Interesting! So $217 at Costco and $5 at kaiser. I hope I can have a conversation with Dr. Lee or Dr. Coen to find out why they never saw the macular pucker! Hope to talk to them. The lady (blonde short hair) I first talked to was really nice, but it went down hill from there. My appointment was at 9:10am I showed up at 9am I sat and waited. Now about 9:30 still haven't been called back the front desk gal kept assuring me it wouldn't be much longer. Then at a guy and his wife show up five minutes late for a 9:40am appointment and get taken back before me. By 9:55am I was over it cancelled my appointment and walked out. This is my review for trying to schedule an appointment & my past experience: PAST EXPERIENCE: -I went there a little over a year ago and my experience was about 2.5 stars. The only reason why I chose this location was the selection of frames they offer. I wear glasses and contacts so I requested a prescription for my glasses (and I needed new ones), but asked the optometrist if I could have a prescription for my contacts (still had a box left and wasn't in need or ordering any time soon). He simply wrote a prescription and sent me to the area where their frames were displayed. -I tried on a few frames, finally chose one and paid off what I owed. -Since it was back in December, my glasses were going to take longer than expected due to it being the end of the year and around holiday season. I was told that I would receive a call from them when the frames were ready (quoted me about 1.5 weeks) -2 weeks went by and New Years approaching and still not a word about my frames. I called and they said it would be ready by the end of the week. -I showed up and was told my frames were ready but then they stated I had to pay for my contacts consultation. Mind you, I was charged for the visit prior to leaving my first appointment, then they stated that I owe MORE MONEY when the optometrist didn't even do a contact fitting. I simply asked him if he can write me a prescription for contacts and told him I wear this brand. All he had to do was write on a little piece of paper which cost me $40 extra. THIS WEEK: -I have new vision insurance and found that EYEcenter Optometric was under my network providers. I was skeptical to schedule an appointment, but remembered the nice lady who helped prep my eye exam. -I called on Monday and left a voicemail stating I've been to their location before, but haven't been in about a year and would like an eye exam. -I call Wednesday and leave ANOTHER VOICEMAIL -I found another provider that's actually CLOSER to my work. Opto Care Sac picked up their phones within two rings, scheduled an appointment and suggested to fill out the new patient form (located on their website) which took less than 10 minutes. WILL I RECOMMEND EYEcenter Optometric off on Sunrise? HECCCCKKKKK NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I'm all about customer service and this place does not meet standards. read more

I needed new glasses and wasn't real happy with my last optometrist so I actually took my wife's advice and saw hers. My visit turned out to be the most comprehensive exam I have ever had. Dr. Coen descibed and explained evey part of my exam and his staff did tge same on the post exam. My whole experience far surpassed my expectations and I will definitely continue to go here and highly recommend seeing them, I am confident that if you do you to will get the same professional and courteous experience I recieved. The optometrist is great but the contacts and eyeglasses are way overpriced. If you have the patience buy them online. They charge your insurance double so you pay half. This is my opinion of the service I received. read more

I having been going Eyecenter Optometric for several years and implicitly recommend it! Dr. Coen is amazing...he is friendly and knowledgeable. He not only examined my eyes, but took the time to explain everything, such as why I tilt my head, why I need progressive lenses, and my astigmatism. We had to leave Dr. Lee a few years ago because of our insurance plan. We miss him very much. However, the glasses my husband had purchased there about 5 years ago needed an adjustment. He went in and Teri willingly adjusted them at no charge. When my husband came home, he said they were so nice and Teri said she would give him a good price on replacement glasses when he was ready . So yesterday we got his new prescription and Teri helped him select two new pair of glasses and myself a pair of sunglasses. We just had such a good time, she was really good and honest about helping us select the perfect frames. She explained all of the components of the lenses very clearly as well. She also extended an AARP discount on the glasses. It was a great experience and we'll look very cool in our new glasses. read more

Interesting I can't leave a review on their web site, which is filled with fake reviews. The support staff here are very grouchy and rude. Also, they have a new system in place to get you to sign up for stuff you didn't know you were signing for, by using small print on an Ipad. They come up with fake services. When my child first got contacts, they did a fitting service and must say they were patience and the service was reasonably priced. But they want to charge a contact "fitting fee" every time you go there, even though we've now both been wearing contacts for years and they perform NO fitting. They charge this for adults too, who've been wearing contacts forever. They used to at least tell you about this fee on a paper form, and you can read about it and sign it. Since I already had contacts and wasn't having a fitting done, I declined it. But now they have it on their little iPad and they make you sign it without telling you what it is. In fact, they directly lie to you about the fees. I elected to have the fee for a complex eye scan instead of dilation and was told about that fee because I asked about it. Then the person had me sign also for a fake contact fitting fee which they didn't tell me about. Each fee was about 50 dollars, though I don't recall the exact total. After the person had me sign, he said "So it will just be 50 dollars today." Then when I was done they charged me 100 dollars, adding in the fee for the fake contact fitting, which was never performed. I understand that these guys are probably losing money as more and more people are realizing you can get 10 pairs of perfectly good glasses online, for what you pay them for one pair. I get it, they are in a dying business. See Zenni. Machines can give a better prescription than a doctor now, and places charging 300 or 400 dollars for glasses that are sold online for 25 dollars are going to put them out of business. But I see people there all the time who still don't know this stuff, who are being conned into buying high priced plastic. They still have a service to offer in that insurance can pay for glasses or contacts, and I use mine for contacts. But in order to get those contacts I have to pay their fake fitting fit, even though no contact fitting is performed. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. To all to all of this, I have an African American foster child. He was misbehaving in the office by putting his feet on a chair, and the doctor said to him that he was going to be taken away and put in a special place. Essentially threatening this black foster child, who has a history of abuse and abandonment. I kept going after that because the store management did apologize, but now with the contact fees I won't go back. I saw that same doctor again by accident, and he made zero apologies for his mean and seemingly racist behavior. So what I will be doing is posting as many negative reviews as I can, and complaining to the better business bureau about how they cheated me. read more

I've always just randomly picked out whatever I thought looked ok on me, but working with an experienced Optician who knows all the styles of frames is definitely the way I will go from here on out. I had my exam with Dr. Lee, this was my first time seeing an eye doctor in quite some time. Their equipment is all up to date, the office is very clean and welcoming. They also have a large selection of frames to choose from. The exam was a little longer than expected, I was on my lunch break. The staff was very helpful. When picking out my glasses, they took me straight over to the most expensive frames they offered. That was a little annoying but after telling them I wanted to stay right around what my insurance allowed, they gave me a very large selection to choose from. I left there very happy. They told me two weeks for my glasses to come in and they were right on time. I would recommend them to others. read more

I had an amazing time at EYEcenter Optometric. I've been to two different eye doctors in the two years I've lived in Sacramento and I was very disappointed both times. I tried EYEcenter Optometric this year and third time is definitely a charm! Dr. Coen was excellent! I didn't have to wait long in the exam room and the exam itself was quick, but thorough. He then called in Mahaila to take me to the frame area where i proceeded to try on about half the frames in the place! Mahaila was patient and very helpful, and she helped me choose an excellent pair of Liu Jo frames. I appreciate the attentiveness and service of the whole team at EYEcenter Optometric. read more

Although their optometry services are first rate, their constant sales pitches are very annoying. I have been a patient of Eyecenter Optometric for several years. Once you are in the office, the service is very good, and the doctors and the staff are very personable and very professional. I have complete confidence in the doctors. On the downside, the pricing of their glasses/frames is also pretty high relative to other places. Even using my "good" VSP insurance, glasses were going to cost me close to $300 until I asked them to bring me only the frames that were covered by my insurance. They pulled those frames from a hidden drawer. Their web site is frustrating in that it requires too much info to set up an appointment for returning patients and does not have an option to simply cancel an appointment. And, if their website has an option to contact them by email with a question or concern, it is not easy to find. When I called to change my appointment, I was left on hold with constant sales pitches until I eventually discovered the office was closed for the day and hung up. I am cancelling my next appointment and will think about starting looking for another place that is not so pushy with their marketing. read more

I was happy with my experience with the Eye Center in RC. I had not been to this office before always going to Folsom. I was very impressed by the doctor that I saw. I was there to be fitted for contacts. He did a thorough examination of my eyes and found the prescription i was currently wearing was not suitable for me. Would highly recommend Dr. Palmer Lee. He was able to help when two times to another optometrist just didn't get the "new" eye prescription right. Dr. Lee carefully examined my old and new lenses and found a real difference. I got the new lenses today and they were perfect. So good to have great vision again. I use my parent's insurance, so when I was a bit confused about pricing in accordance to insurance, Jo was very helpful and honest. Everyone was really nice and polite, even to the grumpy lady behind me. They were patient as I offered what little information I knew about my parent's insurance. The atmosphere is warm.
