Only reason I came to this located was because of their advertising same day glasses.i was told it would take 4 days for them to ready. I called on the 4th day to check the status. I was told they would be ready after 4 o'clock. I arrived a bit after 5 o'clock. Was told some machine was broken and the glasses won't be able til tomorrow. So apparently the glasses weren't touch for 4 days. I honestly do not believe any machine was broken. I needed the glasses asap! Update: we'll it's been a total of 7 days. The glasses are finally ready. The store manager had to take the glasses to another facility to get them done. But they dropped a lens and it's now scratched. Tim stated they're giving me another pair for FREE. Like why would I pay for another one pair??? It's going to take a week for the another pair to be ready. Ridiculous! For my inconvenience, the office manager is reimbursing $50.00. Wow! That's not even half of what I paid. NEVER going back! read more

I had a great experience with the Optometrist, she understood my concerns and confirmed them during my visit. The Optometrist exceeded my expectations and would recommend anyone to check out this facility. The staff was excellent, understanding and exuded great customer service. After my optometry appointment, I went to the sales department (next door) to purchase glasses. I was impressed with the friendly staff and the great prices. I was greeted by every single staff member at that department and Ms. Rosa assisted me with my purchase. I was so excited for my new glasses and the excellent customer service Ms. Rosa and her staff provided. This review is for both eyeglass world's optometrist and eyeglass world's sales. So where do I start?? Been going to the independent optometrist next to Eyeglass world for 4 years. Our insurance covers yearly checkups for the whole family. We went there last year and it seems that he sold his business and the new optometrist who is now attached to eyeglass world told me and both my 13 year old and myself needs a prescription adjustment (which we both knew). However, she said as well that my 6 year old, 11 year old and my husband need glasses. We weren't totally convinced as the kids had their yearly checkup right before and the pediatrician hasn't mentioned anything and my husband didn't feel the need for glasses. So we decided to get my 13 year old and myself glasses from there but not the rest of the family. Went to Costco for a second opinion, paid out of pocket and it turned out that none of the three needed glasses (kickbacks????). So we stopped going to this optometrist but still took our new prescription this year to eyeglass world as their prices are very reasonable. The experience was very painful. They required masks to be on at all time which is understandable but makes it impossible to see if the glasses you are about to purchase suit your face. Ironically, on the other hand, they let us try any glasses we wanted and we could put them back on the shelf without the glasses being wiped down between one customer and the other. No other virus safety precaution measures. The service was extremely slow, over 75 minutes to get the purchase done. They needed to go to the back to check if the lenses we wanted were available and it took the sales person over 10 minutes (he might have gone on his break- idk) to come back and let us know that they had our lenses in stock. He did the same thing twice, once to check on my 13 year old's lenses and a second time to check on mine instead of checking on both at the same time. The sales person was rude when asking why does it take so long. A few days later, went to pickup the glasses and had to wait over 25 minutes just to be handed the bag. I had to tell them that we need to try to glasses on to make sure they fit properly as I really didn't want to go back again. Very slow service, sales people that are rude and no regard for the customer. Don't waste your time at that location. read more

I bought two pairs of glasses for over $100 and they broke the first pair while adjusting the right lens and now I have to wait further to receive them and not only that, they didn't even give me the clothe which is supposed to come with the new pair of glasses... apparently because they haven't received the shipment in a couple of months?? The doctor who did my eye exam was really nice and I appreciated her help getting me contacts. When I got home and placed my order it was canceled because the prescription they gave me on paper was wrong. Now I have to wait for them to email the new prescription because when I called they said they had no doctors there today and I also have to wait to receive my money back from the place I ordered them. This could've all been avoided if they just given me the correct prescription. read more

Laurelena was super awesome and sweet. So I've never been to eyeglass world since I've had my own optometrist but I definitely recommend checking them out, for an in place eye store they are also pretty affordable - they offer a 40% discount and will work with you and your insurance to get the best deal. I really hope this gets seen by management because Laura was really sweet, personable, and made me feel welcome whereas a lot of businesses make it seem like a pain for being there. I tried to be nice and understanding but I just couldn't do it anymore... My first time visiting and I had an eye appointment at 9am on a Saturday. Just my luck, but the person who had the keys to open the place was late and I had to wait about 30-45 minutes before someone came with the keys. Optometrist Dr. Tina Bui was wonderful! And I thought, ok this place is redeeming itself. Super long story short, I feel that this location is severely lacking in customer service and professionalism. Dr. Bui was great. She is very efficient and helpful with solutions for everyday issues with my eyes. Such as dryness, itchiness, etc. she answered all of my questions and even gave me some tips I didn't even realize I could ask about. When I picked out my frames, Robert helped me. There are so many to choose from it becomes overwhelming. Robert made that part a breeze. He's got a good eye for style and actually gave me some great choices I wouldn't have otherwise even thought would be good for me. He's personable and attentive without being pushy or invading (usually my feeling about attentive salespeople. I tend to want to be left alone). I would recommend this location to anyone unsure. The selection is huge and the help is above expectations. I had an excellent experience and will definitely be going back next year for my annual eye exam. read more

This is our 2nd time here and I should've known not to return. We spent about an hour looking at frames for my daughter and was told we can get 2 frames for the price of highest marked frame. Went to check out with out 2 frames but was told because we had insurance we didn't qualify for the 2 for $78 or any other buy 1 get 1. We had to reschedule once again another re-exam for my husbands contacts because his eyes could not adapt. We arrived for our re-exam and the "other" doctor we requested was not in for a whole week. My husband took the day off specifically for this re-exam because the only other doctor was in once a week. We are out our benefits, and old contacts. We do not recommend Eye Glass world as the services we have received are not satisfactory. We have since made another contact lense exam with another optical department and will need to pay fully out of pocket. read more

I don't know what the issue is with optometrist offices in the area but I have bad luck with all of them. I really had high hopes when my insurance changed and I found out Eyeglass World was now covered by my insurance. I made an appointment a few days ago for myself and my daughter. I printed out my insurance card beforehand since I know to come prepared because I always have issues. We got checked in and the girl at the desk was able to pull up my daughters insurance (provided through me) no problem. She then tells me she can't find mine and they do not call to verify. I asked if my information would be the exact same since I am the subscriber and she said technically yes but they need to see it. She then went to get a phone number for me to call and try to get all my copays and descriptions and write them down for her. On my MetLife card it states they have a provider dedicated line to call. You would think that would be the quickest way to verify instead of having me call the general 800 number but nope, apparently it's "against company policy" for them to call. She also stated they couldn't call VSP but I have MetLife and she was in possession of my card at the time so not too sure she knew what she was doing. Why should I have to do their job for them? Sounds like they're just being lazy to me. I've never been to an optometrist where they can't make a phone call. What kind of customer service is that anyway? Needless to say, I cancelled both of our appointments. I am not going to let them make money off of my daughter when they can't even help out a brand new customer by making a simple phone call. Not only did she tell me about medical advancements for people with cataracts, she talked to me about other things pertaining to health that I had an interest in. This used to be my favorite eyeglass world. Until today's experience. I've been experiencing some pain and discomfort in my right eye for a few days now. I called to schedule an appointment and although the schedule was full the guy I spoke to was kind enough to get me in. I was on my way and got held up at a few lights so I called and spoke to MICHELLE 4:44 letting them know I'd be 5 minutes late. I got there at 4:49 and no one was at the desk. I sat down and a few minutes later (4:52) someone came to assist me. This lady says they can no longer see me because I am late. I asked why, when I talked to Michelle and she said okay. She says that michelle should have checked with her first but that she would ask the doctor to see. I went to other side of the walls to look for michelle and first everyone claimed no one was named that and then later this lady says she was michelles manager, and michelles at lunch when I said I would wait til they found who I spoke to. This lady who claims to be the manager goes to ask the doctor if I can still be seen and she comes back and says this is a new doctor and her rule is 7-10 minutes lei way only and that she is very strict about it. I said I was here within that time frame. the girl says "well she already said no" so the best thing I can do for you is comp your exam and reschedule you." I said that doesn't help me at all. I need to be seen today. If this was Dr Tina she would have seen me. The lady says well she's on maternity leave. I'm pretty sure it's not your business to tell other people the doctor's personal business. I am super disappointed in this location and will not be coming back here. I wish my favorite staff person Maricela was there but she wasn't. Not only did this incident cause them to lose a loyal customer, but 3 because my mom and brother will not be returning here as well. read more

Super bad customer service. My 9 year old son got glasses there just about a year ago. About 2 months ago scratched his lenses playing basketball in the backyard. We had insurance so we thought that we were good. Well long story short we placed the order... never called us back. My son had back up glasses so we weren't in a hurray. Called them twice lenses weren't in. Finally, today called for now the 4th time and the said that my optional insurance had expired. Im here on free insurance covered eye exam this eyeglass world doesnt even offer the same program as American best for medical and eye exam coverage but they think i can pay over 5k per eye for lasik surgery as simple as picking out contacts. I have been to eye dr my whole life if i could afford and lasik and wasnt turned down for 30 years just to hear oh pay 10k total for a now regular lasik procedure at a free exam session. This made no sense i was forced into a pair of lenses with no hopes of seein me again in future bc no follow up was suggested or mentioned. The prescription was written and i was sent off. A week later the prescription and brand provided lost its power in one eye and there were no tears or rips on my behalf bc the other contact was fine the left eye just went blurry. After being told my eyes are good health she later added you will be blind by age 40 or 42 at age 39 was very scary to suddenly wake up and not being able to see out of one eye. I went back and just felt i was rushed now im having issues and the dr did most of talkin without hearin me or advising me. She just wanted to tell me im too old and just wanted to push her lasik dr info as if she was sellin Avon products. If lasik is so common why 10k dollars when thats not the natural price for common americans and why is it not offered with the local exam as common as eye glasses or contacts. So anyways its an awful place i tried to follow up I as finally given another pair to try after so much unnecessary miscommunication. And passover aggressive attitude from the woman doctor. Then as im leaving she hold a paper i read the small print fine. Then told I need reading glasses and only need one day to know if the lenses will worked when i had the first pair for a week and had issues after that time. So she clearly was rushin me and shamin my vision and just Overall not competent as a eye dr to tell me which brands would work rather than just tell me im too old and nothing with work but her surgeon. In 39 years worst experience of my life with an eye doctor. She later said if I didnt like either of those answers, to make it worse, she told me she wouldn't be able to help me further and i should go to costco or wherever and do my business some where else!!!! Mind you i used insurance which is good for once a year. So she totally disrespectful and incompent in eastlake chula vista not a representation of America best or vision center or any optimalgist ive ever seen.
