Doctor and Staff are friendly and accommodating. They looked up my insurance and informed me what coverage I have.

Brought my kids in for an eye exam and declined the "optional" retinal picture for $39 on the intake form. When the doctor (Efrain) noticed this, he explained the only other option would be dilation. I continued to ask questions out of curiosity (as I did not want my child's eyes dilated) and Efrain condescendingly asked, "Are we really talking about $39?" (trying to shame me for questioning his optional fee) I respond... Efrain gets louder and makes comments about my kid not being able to hold still. At this point, I decide to not continue the appointment in which Efrain storms out and slams my kids file on the receptionist's desk and stares us down as we leave the office. 100% do not recommend. It was a degrading experience to say the least. read more

Two stars is for Elena - she actually deserves 5! Dr. B - not so much. I've had issues with the office returning my calls after leaving voice mail. But my main issue is with one of the optometrists. When I asked to switch optimetrists a couple of years ago because Dr. B wasn't the most inviting guy, the receptionist said that I couldn't - I had to stay with the same guy - so I kept coming here since Elena is AMAZING! But, 3 different times I have told the doctor that that the contacts that he fit me for or glasses prescription did not work and hurt my eyes. His response each time was to get used to them. I have had glasses just sit in a drawer for years because they were a waste and I was told that I would have to pay for the lenses again. Last year I was given contacts to wear home. I told him that I couldn't see a thing - I couldn't even see/sign my receipt and he wanted me to drive home in these contacts! Thankfully Elena had me throw the contacts away and gave me my previous prescription back. I'm always told to get used to them and "that's what the computer says". This past December Dr. B gave me a new prescription for glasses. When I received them 2 weeks ago, I told the office that they hurt my eyes. Dr. B took be back to test me again. He told me that the prescription he gave me should work - I told him that I couldn't explain why, but my old prescription was still better and asked that my lenses be replaced with my existing prescription. I have been wearing my old glasses (which are great, but needed additional pairs). I received 1 of the 2 pairs of glasses back today and my old prescription was not given to me after requesting it. I have no reason to argue or not change my prescription. I have put up with this guy talking trash about the girls up front not updating info in the computer, the computer being too old, too slow or not working. This past visit he complained that "whoever worked on Saturday" doing something to the eye machine and that I could not put my face against it when doing my vision test. This guy complains EVERY time I'm there. I don't come to my eye appointments for prescriptions that don't work for me and to hear the optometrist complain about co-workers or equipment in the office. Again, Elena is the only reason I kept returning. I think it's time I changed offices, especially since I am not "allowed" to see Dr. Mascarena apparantly... read more

The front office staff refused to contact my insurance provider to verify insurance, thus they refused to make an appointment -- even though I informed them that I have VSP and I provided the direct phone number for them to call. So, on to another optometrist. read more

I have been going to this office for many years now. They should have my information. I have to fill it out every time. Oh and once they broke my sunglasses brand new which I paid $600.00. I know they make you sign a waiver, but never in the other optometrist office had this happened. read more

I've been coming here for several years but I had to go somewhere else one year just because it was next door to my dentist. I thought it would be convenient. I knew immediately that that was was a mistake. I'm not going to speak bad about the other optometry but I returned to Eastlake vision and as always had an amazing experience with the doctor and staff. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very kind. They always make us feel welcome. The first friendly face I enjoy seeing is Orquodia she's so sweet. I had called and explained that I need an appointment and I was offered the appointment that very next Saturday. I was thrilled because not only was Saturday convenient but I need to be seen right away. I was checked in and I informed Orquodia that my husband needed an appointment and they were so kind to squeeze him in with me. That was greatly appreciated. He was so happy because he's always so busy and had not had time to call. The visit with Dr Mascareno went really well. He really took the time with me and my husband, he made sure he gave us step by step of what he was doing and made sure to answer all of our questions. He's really nice and down to earth. I told him that I would never go anywhere else again and he laughed. He didn't judge me like some providers do and he said he was glad we came back. Elena (the optician) is so knowledgeable and kind. She even took my expensive frames from 2 years prior to use for the new prescription. I was so happy about that because the other office said "no" with no explanation. Thank you Eastlake Vision! My issue is that your store hours for Saturday are 9-3. I arrived at 2:29 and your store was closed! I drove down to try to pick up my glasses that were ready. That was a 7 mile drive I did not need to take for nothing. read more

Very unprofessional! The posted hours are incorrect, I called to verify and the associate informed me they would be closed at 2:30 pm instead of the posted 3pm. I drove 20 miles to get to the location and I was surprised to find the doors locked and closed at 2:20 pm. Very inconvenient, especially since I am now forced to wait until Monday to pick up my glasses. read more

Visit was fast. No wait. Doctor was friendly. But I was quickly told not to buy online. Was not given the pupillary distance as to push for an onsite purchase. Which is unfortunate, just because of that it is very unlikely that I return. They have it and are withholding the information. Saw the selection of frames, very limited for kids and I know they are much more expensive than online options and any upgrade to the lenses is charged at a premium. I understand there is a hope to sell the frames on site, however providing a good service and not withholding information will increase that likelihood 10 fold. read more
