I'm not sure why the vibe felt so off, but if I return, I'd likely shop online or visit the Woodfield location instead, where the staff has been much more friendly and accommodating.

We finally had an opportunity to visit Zeifert when my husband decided to get a new pair of glasses. There was no need for an eye exam so we only experienced the store portion. It is as lovely inside as outside. Clean and organized. The bad: The initial portion of our experience was awkward - it took them a moment to start talking to us and then they were very focused on getting all the details of my hubby's insurance. The lady who was dealing with us kept asking her co-worker if she found the insurance info yet, if she can confirm it, is it there, does he have insurance, do you have it, did you find it...? I am really not sure why was this so important as the insurance only covered small percentage of the glasses cost, we still had to pay most of the total price. The good: Once she confirmed the insurance details, her demeanor changed, she smiled and started helping us choosing the frames. From then on, our experience was great. They have a nice selection and it took us a while to settle on the winner. They even had his prescription strength in stock so we were able to have the complete glasses at home that evening. Prices: It is hard to judge if the prices here are much higher than at any other eye glasses store, however based on the location I would say yes. Definitely not a bargain place :) Overall: If price is not a deciding factor, I would recommend Zeifert for your eyeglasses needs. Hopefully they will learn to provide good customer service from the very beginning, regardless of your insurance ;)

A week later called me and said replaced bushings but needs new bridge and will have to order the part that'll be $200. Another week or so goes buy and they say glasses are ready. I went in to pick them up and the problem wasn't solved. The arms/legs of the glasses were still loose and charged me $200 and did not document what they replaced or fixed. I indicated that they didn't solve the problem and was not happy. They said glasses were fine as they replaced the bridge. I asked them if they did a full assessment of the glasses, and they "said" they replaced the bridge. I said I cannot wear them because they are loose and still flimsy. How do you charge someone but don't fix the problem? I will be filing with the better business bureau especially since I'm a senior. Very Dissatisfied Customer.

I went to a retina specialist, I go to very good doctors and dont have a copay, and they didnt even say there is one on the phone. I am on soc. sec. and I didnt have that money, Also, It's really hard for me to go anywhere because of spinal damage, and I dont have a special car for my wheelchair, so I have to walk in excruciating pain from the car to the door, often pretty far... They are highly ethical and treat both their patients and staff with the utmost respect. I have been examined by Dr. Wood for floaters. I am developing a cataract (fortunately does not need surgery) but when the time comes I would travel to Arlingon Heights from Chicago. They have the most up to date technology including laser cataract surgery.
