Looked forward to living and experiencing the Midtown life. Went to get eye exam and eventually prescription glasses. Eyeworks on Peachtree Street is where I settled on because of convenience and being full service. That was a big mistake never expected or experience the feeling the people working there were not doctors or eyewear specialists. After two eye exams one being told need to have cataracts removed one being said no concern right now about cataracts and two pairs of glasses being made,because wrong prescription in first pair second pair ok. Nothing works at this place. Came for my regular eye exam, annual contacts order and potentially was looking to buy new glasses. After waiting for 1,5 hours, having had made an appointment and everything I just left. The only comment they gave was that there is some "small delays"! Well I'm never coming back and will make sure to spread the word. read more

The doctor pictured above was not the doctor that I saw when I went to the address that was on my Zocdoc doc appointment I saw a completely different doctor she was an African-American female. She was a really great doctor she was very nice and very memorable it was her staff who was actually awful. I guess they didn't know how to get in touch with my insurance company properly and that my medical and my vision are owned by one company but two separate departments. So they kept telling me that my insurance wasn't covered. I got my insurance company on the phone with them to let them explain all of my vision benefits they still did not except what the insurance company had to say. They then intern try to make me pay out of pocket when I refused and told them to bill my insurance they locked me in the office so that I wasn't able to leave. Also the black receptionist that was there with the really Stiff Bob weave tried to assault me two times. And when I threaten to call the police that's when they unlocked the office and allowed me to leave. I was so scared I felt like my life is in danger and I felt like I was never going to make it home I hope that no other individual Has to ever go through this. read more

I was referred to Eyeworks through insurance. The service and experience was great. Glad I went.

Bought a $400 pair of glasses, frames scratched in the first month I had them. When I went into the store to see if they could buff out the scratches or do anything at all for me they said no. Horrible, avoid this awful place!! I also second Anthony S.'s opinion about misleading and fraudulent initial frame prices that can easily creep up to above $500-600 or more.... read more

First let me say that the staff...James and Dr Birdsong could not have been better. They both treated us like family and were professional. But there is something not right about the way this company operates. First...big red flag..there are no price anywhere. No prices on the frames....no price on the examination....no prices posted on upgrades..like transitional lenses...non scratch...etc. It's almost as if they don't want you to know....or maybe they have something to hide!! So after you have your exam and select a frame, you sit across a desk while the associate puts numbers into his computer, writing down figures. Then comes the gut punch The frame was $265, but after the lenses it came to $1125...So the clerk offers a discount to $895....after I voiced my shock the price came down to $595. As a consumer I felt that I had no idea what I was buying or what the actual cost was. My partner who just wanted lenses on his current frames got the price of $895. Nothing special....just lenses. James was extremely helpful and found a way to reduce the price to $400. But it was too late. We lost any confidence that this establishment was operating in good faith. This was a total waste of our time. As a foot note we went to a competitor on Ponce de Leon 30 minutes later. The same frames and lenses they offered me for their first price of $1125...reduced to $595......I paid $360. My partners lenses that started at $895...reduced to $400.....we paid $265. read more

Everybody here is so friendly. They even gave me a good deal on my prescriptions because I didn't have eye insurance. They have a nice selection of frames here although I didn't purchase mine from here, they are still some nice frames. I'm still waiting to get my frames back so I can't speak of their prescriptions yet but the customer service is perfect! Update: glasses came in and I've decide I was given a terrible exam. I see better without my glasses than I do with them. In fact after wearing them for an hour to try and adjust I received a massive headache. I'm pretty upset that my glasses are not the right script for me and that getting them fixed will tie them up for a couple more weeks. Already I have spent $500 and I'm not even benefiting from any of it. I was very excited about getting these and now I'm very let down. Updates to follow. I went back and contested my eyeglasses and they gave me another free exam this exam was much more thorough. Upon leaving this place I felt comfortable my eyes were going to get what they needed. One week later I came back to get my eyeglasses and they are still not right. I see better without my glasses than I do with them in fact I don't even like wearing the glasses because they hurt my eyes, they give me a headache and I can't read anything at far distances. I'm going to wear these for a week bearing thru the instant headache they give me and see what happens. i found out about this company through groupon. where they are advertising 65$ for an exam & lenses. now when i called to clarify the groupon a woman explained that the contact exam was only $75 -$85 depending on the levels of astigmatism. I said ok well that is still a deal. its only a10 to 15 dollar difference no biggie. i set an appointment for the following day. i get there and they had notes on my file . because i spoke to them the day prior explaining the groupon that i was interested in purchasing. they assured me that i can purchase it in house. i agreed to. so now im at my appointment im impressed with the overall look of the place. im filling out my paper work, and i clarify with the front desk agent how much willl it cost me to get the contact exam in addition to the $65 coupon. i was told " $75 -$85 is the total so 10-15$ difference. i proceed get my exam done. its now time to pay . the gentleman inform me that my total is $150. confused... he goes on to say its $65 for the regular exam. and an additional $75 for the contact lenses exam. i was livid . but the doctor was good. quick & respectful. i would of gone elsewhere had i known. the sales associates were maddddd pushy. and kept offering me "deals" which werent deals they were the same price as 1800 contacts . ive worn glasses my whole life and ive never paid over 90$ for a contact & glasses exam. they got me good. the doctor was professional, super informative, gave me excellent suggestions. you can feel his expertise. i loved my experience with him. i just feel like i got jipped at the last min and i didnt appreciate that at all. prices frames 300% markup. pricey lenses for the glasses as well. i would say buy your frames online and get them prescribed. and buy your contacts at 1800 contacts its a better deal! read more

I was in Atlanta for a couple of days and forget a spare set of contacts, so when my contact was damaged I called Eyeworks and they worked with my eye doctor in NM and not only got me a set of contacts immediately, but they also gave me solution and did not charge me. Now that's service! I will definitely use them whenever I am in Atlanta. read more

I had an incredible experience here at Eyeworks. For me, convenience and comfort are very important. I flew into Atlanta and broke my eyeglasses before I got on my flight. I was able to find Eye works online and make an appointment for the next morning using ZocDoc. When I arrived the next day I was seen right away. Dr. Jamilah and other staff had already received my information from ZocDoc, and all I had to do was sign a few papers. I had a silly bit of anxiety about air being blown in my eyes (I know, I know) and the staff were super patient. Finally, I went in for my examination and Dr. Jamilah explained everything to me using diagrams. She answered my 101 questions, and made me feel very comfortable! Finally, my lenses were ready within 15 minutes and I was able to find a pair of frames in just a couple of minutes. Prices were discussed upfront and I went back to pick up my finished glasses in an hour. They also gave me a copy of my prescription just in case I wanted to get another pair of eyeglasses when I flew back to New York. All in all, very easy. Best eye wear experience ever. read more

Wow what an experienced I had at my visit at Eyeworks; by the way it wasn't a good one. I paid $41 on Groupon for a $200 Voucher towards my eye exam and frames. My appointment was schedule on 11/19/15. After my exam I was told to pick out some glasses, I picked out 5 pairs, all ninewest glasses, well at least that what it said on the glasses. The clerk asked me which ones do I like and I said the cheapest one. She then took each pair of glasses and enter the numbers in the system. 3 pair of frames were $265 and the other pairs were $220. Then she suggested that I need to pay an additional $110 for aka some kind of glare per the doctor. Then I said do I really need that and she said its highly recommended because of the glare. So after she wrote the breakdown of my bill on a piece of paper my bill total up to approximately $500. After deducting my $200 voucher my bill was $315 I still felt uneasy about the bill, but reluctantly I hand her my credit card and paid $230.50. I ask the clerk can I pay the remaining of the bill when my glasses arrive and she agreed. After leaving the business I just didn't feel right about my purchase. The next day I received a text message from the company stating my glasses was ready. I called just to verify that my glasses were indeed ready and the receptionist stated no and informed me that I should receive my glasses before the Holidays (Thanksgiving). Then I asked her how much is the remaining amount of my bill and she stated $159. I asked her how can that be when I already paid $230. Later that night I decided to google the glasses that I picked out at Eyeworks and I was so upset only to find out that the glasses ran from $50-90. I was so upset that I was overcharged! I became so restless, unable to get the proper sleep and focus to study for my exam. Unfortunately, I failed my exam that Monday morning. So after my exam I decided to go to the store to discuss the discrepancies of my bill. Upon arriving there a tall guy was in the building and he said the office is closed for today and it was approximately 130pm, he also informed me that the store will be open tomorrow . So today (11/24/15) I came back to Eyeworks and asked the receptionist may I speak to your manager regarding my bill, she went in the back for about five minutes. Then the receptionist showed me a form stating my bill was $389, not $315. And I tried to explain to her I never seen this print out or this amount $389 and I only agreed to $315. I asked were the glasses ready and she said no it takes 7-10 days. I informed her that well in that case I want my money back because the glasses are not ready, I was overcharged, and its a discrepancy in the bill. So then she went in the back and got the tall guy. Not for sure if he was the manager or another clerk. He came out and basically told me that this is what you seen and this is your bill and you cant get your money back. He repeatedly stated to me that I did see the amount $389. Now how can he tell me what I did or did not seen when he did not provide service to me on 11/19/15. He went to the back for a few minutes and came back with a case with glasses in it and dropped it on the table as if was upset with me and stated here is your glasses. I said I thought you all said my glasses wasn't ready, so how did they magically appear. Then he open up the case and said sarcastically these glasses are not cheap and they are not Ninewest glasses either. I then express to him that the glasses he says is mines is not the ones I ordered and I just want my money back. We couldn't come to an agreement so he told me to get out! So I left without a pair of glasses or my money back. Which left me no other choice but to call the police. Nothing really got resolved today. I just felt that I was taken advantage of, scam, ripped off, etc, etc.... So I say to you all, please, please do your research before purchasing your next pair of glasses so you will not be in a predicament like me! And if you choose to come here for services, make sure the clerk print you a break down of the bill, before you pay. And also be prepared to pay $400-$500 for your services if you come to this location. read more
