I am always skeptical when trying to find someone new to do work on my house. I do not take the time to write reviews often but he deserves it. He came out to look at boiler, changed a part and got it fired up. Identified that it was cracked and had to be completely replaced. Out of sympathy he just charged me for the part he replaced. He gave me a quote of what it would cost to install a new heating system. I called a few friends that are contractors and they agreed it was a very reasonable price. Dave came out the following day and installed it with his technician. Very professional and efficient, he even took a few hundred dollars off the price that he initially quoted. This is a bit of a belated review. Professional Oil & HVAC replaced my water heater in April of 2024. I'd gotten a couple other estimates that had seemed kind of high--one came in at $5,000!--even given that I'd need a replacement power vent water heater (which are more expensive). Professional Oil beat both of these estimates and did a very good job for an extremely reasonable price. In fact, they really worked to keep the price down, which I appreciate so much. They also helped me get my heat back on in December (2024) when it stopped working due to air in the pipes. They fit me in very quickly as the weather was soon to be hitting single digits. The charge was very reasonable once again. I contracted Professional Oil and HVAC to address an issue with my LG mini-split unit and I would not hesitate to hire them again. No BS--honest, quality service. My mini-split exterior compressor kept shorting out, leaving me with no AC during peak summer heat. I asked for a quote via Yelp and David promptly responded with availability much sooner than other companies. Soon, I had two Professional Oil and HVAC techs who listened to my issues and got to work figuring out what was wrong. After an initial evaluation and communication with LG tech support, they determined one of the problems--a faulty noise filtration board. They ordered the board replaced it, but that was only part of the issue. What fried the board? The techs determined that a control cable was shorting, Due to the building construction, Professional Oil and HVAC determined I needed an electrician to address the problem further. They wrote a comprehensive explanation of their finding and their call with LG tech support, so that I could inform the electrician as to the issues. A quick visit from an electrician who determined the location of the short and replaced a cable, and I finally had working AC, which I'm enjoying as I type this review. Without Professional Oil and HVAC, the repair would not have gone so seamlessly. David kept me informed throughout the service, which took about a week due to the having to wait for the board to be shipped. Their invoice, which included the cost of the new board, was extremely fair. They factored in that they couldn't get me 100% repaired through no fault of their own--there's specialists like electricians for a reason. Although David didn't actually do the job for me, he was worried about having to overcharge me and helped me purchase a tough to find outdated pressure switch from a dealer who only dealt with licensed technicians. Instead of making money, he helped me with this problem out of the goodness of his heart. It's good to know there's genuinely honest and good people like David out there. Our oil furnace was not working after having been unused for several years (we primarily use pellet stove, with oil only as backup).
