My work crew and I stopped in for lunch to celebrate my birthday after work and we had a blast. Our Server, Vienna, was so friendly, accommodating, and efficient. I highly recommend requesting her if you dine in. The chips and salsa were good and we appreciate the three salsa options provided and plenty of chips to go around. I decided on the steak and chicken fajita's ($25) and a double Margarita ($9.50). Our food arrived in about 15 minutes, my fajitas came out sizzling just the way I like them, good job! The fajitas come with sides and you receive a good amount of food, no skimping. I was also able to sample one of their Quesada's, which was delicious. Vienna was kind enough to bring over some fresh Churro's and dipping sauce for the birthday song, and there was enough for everyone in our group to try, which was really nice. The Churro's were fresh, hot, had a great crunchy exterior, and perfect blend of seasoning. The restaurant is not really big so it can get crowded during peak times. It is beautiful inside and could make for a nice date night with the wife next time she wants something special. Pricing is a bit high when compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I was completely satisfied with my meal and experience but know that you can find more affordable options if you are looking to save some $$$$. After leaving a movie nearby, we were in the mood for Mexican food and decided to stop by F&D Cantina. When we walked in, there was a party waiting for a table to be cleaned. The hostess, Tamia, was in the process of cleaning it but still took a moment to acknowledge us and let us know she would be right with us, which I appreciated. While we waited, more parties came in and the line quickly grew toward the door. There were other staff members nearby, but no one stepped in to help seat guests or manage the wait, which made things move slower than expected. Once we were seated, it took a while for our waiter to come to the table. The hostess actually came back to check on us and ask if we had been helped yet, which stood out. When our waiter did arrive, the first thing he mentioned was that last call would be soon since they close at 10. We had arrived around 9, so we went ahead and ordered both drinks and food at the same time. Service throughout the meal was slow. We ordered the trio for the table, and I got the puffy tacos, one beef and one chicken, with black beans and rice. My son ordered a chicken quesadilla, and another person in our party ordered street corn, birria tacos, and a passionfruit margarita. It took a while for the food to come out, and when it did, we didn't have any silverware. Our waiter didn't come back for a while, so we had to flag someone down just to be able to start eating. The trio was the highlight of the meal. The guacamole, salsa, and queso were all really good and definitely something I would order again. The rest of the food was just okay. The chicken taco lacked seasoning, while the beef taco was a bit over seasoned for my taste. The beans had an unusual flavor, and the rice tasted like it had been sitting for a while, which may have been due to the late hour. My son said the quesadilla was good. The birria tacos had a decent amount of meat, but the flavor was closer to roast beef than what you would expect from traditional birria. The passionfruit margarita was just okay and wasn't filled all the way to the top, which was noticeable. For the price, the overall experience didn't quite match the quality of the food and service. Between the slow service and inconsistent dishes, I would likely not return for a full meal. However, I would consider stopping by for takeout of the trio since that was the standout. WOW! Where to start with place. It's become a go-to for us. Great selection of food (from fajitas to brunch) and the happy hour makes it all worth while! We have some favorite staff there including the always present and hardworking manager, Morse. Kaitlyn is also a fav of ours. Even when she's not our server she always comes over to say hi. I came here for $25 Bottomless Brunch on a Sunday. I loved it! They service tapas which is exciting because you can try many different things on the menu. Loved the food from F&D! Delicious Mexican dishes, loved the enchiladas, queso and refried beans. Had the dip trio and loved the spicy salsa too. Queso was the white and creamy kind, so good! I've been dying to try an F&D Cantina, and I finally got the chance to today. We called 30 minutes ahead for a party of 10 (this was an impromptu lunch), and they were able to set up a table for us just in time! My steak and sweet plantain quesadilla was fantastic! Sweet and savory in all the right places :) it definitely filled me up. Our table had a wide variety of food options and everything looked and smelled very appetizing. I loved that all of the food for our table came out at the same time. I love a good cantina so tried this place the other night for dinner. They have a great happy hour menu and I highly recommend the grande house margarita for $8.50. It's huge and was pretty good. Tried the trio off the HH menu too but was bummed to hear they didn't have a verde salsa option. The mild salsa was flavorful and I liked the queso, even when it cooled off. Service was phenomenal. I had no shortage of water or food and was even offered some homemade hot sauce. Liked the habanero chipotle. The al pastor tacos were super salty though - couldn't finish them. This is pretty basic Mexican-ish food. I like most every Mexican food item I come across, but most of this is pretty middle of the road and with a few spices and a grill you can make this all at home just as good. However, I don't like the service. At all. It's always been kinda snobby, don't-bother-me, super aloof to me. The last time we went there, we ended up leaving without even eating though. I think the issue really is the management. The hostess and servers were desperate for some guidance, and the manager was trying to go unseen sweeping here and there and bussing tables. He just looked over all of it. The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouth. We were wanting to have Mexican and although I wasn't really hungry, the camaraderie had me go anyway. We were visiting from NY and CT and this restaurant was close to our hotel, in walking distance. Upon entering, I could smell the delicious sizzling of fajitas. The decor was modern and drew us in, very interesting exterior although nothing declaring Mexican as far as I could tell. We were acknowledged quickly by the server and a table prepared for us. Within minutes of sitting our waiter came to great us to take drink orders. We were quickly ready to place our order and had the salsa and chips trio. We wanted to try the doble shot for $5 that was advertised but were told there was fine print associated with it. I looked closely at the table advertisement and there was noting that spoke to that. False advertising, and we ended up paying $8 for the shots. That was not nice. I ordered the fajitas, steak and shrimp, my grandson has a burrito and my girlfriend had a chimichanga type which she thoroughly enjoyed. We all enjoyed the food, although my girlfriend did send her screwdriver back as it didn't taste like a screwdriver at all, and I confirmed. Overall the food was excellent but it's hard to unsee a special that is clearly advertised (see for yourself) that we were denied as the server said we had to take a survey to get it. No where did it say that. Also, as. Yepler, I checked in and qualified for a free salsa and chip appetizer but when I asked they said they'd have to speak to management and we never heard back. The whole discount/free appetizers scenario made it for a bad experience customer service wise, although our server was not seemingly to blame. For that reason I'd reconsider a return visit as the bait and switch is an old trick that is frowned upon. read more

We ordered Mexican bowls, trio fajitas, and other items, but everything tasted the same due to the lack of seasoning. The beans had no flavor and were more like canned refried beans. We asked for extra queso and chips, and although the waitress said she would bring them, she never returned with them. The food is overpriced (one glass of tea costs $4). This is a great spot before seeing a movie at AmStar. I ordered a Paloma to start and a quesadilla for dinner. Everything came out on time for our movie time. The quesadilla had large chunks of chicken inside with guac, lettuce, sour cream and pico in the side. I enjoy the F&D brand which is local to Orlando. The inside of this location is so pretty and reminds me of the Mexico pavilion in Epcot. It's a small location, but the staff do a great job even when the tables are packed. read more

Brunch Time! This place is cute and convenient if you are in the Lake Mary area right across from Fishbones near i4. There is parking all around this building, as it's right on a middle corner of the strip and offers indoor and outdoor seating. I am from San Antonio (which is basically Mexico) and raised by a Mexican nanny, so my Mexican taste buds are a bit selective. That said, I would not call this authentic taste, but the food is still really good and the only Mexican restaurant I will eat at besides the only authentic place I found not too far from Mall of Millenia. The ambience here at F&D Cantina is lovely, and the customer service is exemplary. A nice gentleman who referred himself as a "Worker Bee" grabbed our plates and fixed a situation regarding some eggs that I didn't like. He apologized profusely and made me a dish that he makes for his team members that included this amazing andouille-looking sausage, eggs, broccoli, and cheese with a side of Chalula. It was so good. It hit the spot and totally needs to be on the official menu. I was so impressed! Lastly and certainly not least, I want to talk about these churro pancakes. We waited about 10-15 minutes and had to start out sitting separately until the very nice bartender asked a single patron if they would mind switching so we could sit together. That was a positive. We ordered and it didn't take very long at all to get our order. We both got the chicken burritos. They either come with black beans or records beans on the inside of the burrito and we were told that was more delicious than the black beans. What we weren't told was that you get beans and rice on the outside of the burrito, too. Therefore, it was rice and refried beans galore. The sad part was that we hardly got any chicken at all. This review is specifically for the food quality and taste. The staff and waitress were very polite and attentive. We ordered the Guacamole and chips. Right away I was disappointed. It was topped off with too much Cojita Cheese and very salty. I prepared myself to expect more of a Tex/Mex cuisine experience because Guac should not have so much cheese in my opinion.
