It has some spare time so we stopped in to swim. They have a great pool and a lot of good swimmers, including Jo and Robert. Both of whom were very kind and open to sharing Lane's with us. This facility does Prefer Lane reservations for use of the swimming pool, which we made once we got there, but Robert and Joe accommodated us earlier. We also talked with a general manager, Brittany, who was most welcoming and accommodating. This is another fine facility in Colorado athletic club collection.

This is a massive breach of trust and privacy. * Billing Issues: They ignored my requests to pause my membership following emergency surgery and continued to charge my card $400/month. Even after canceling, they "lost" the paperwork and kept billing me. * Customer Service: While trainers Sarah and Zack are good, the management (Jamie and Kristie) is hostile, rude, and dishonest. At my first class, I could barely do two push-ups in a row, now I can knock out 30 in a minute. Sure there are folks who can do more, and have lost more weight than me, but Jonathan works hard to help me achieve MY goals. Thanks to Jonathan, I have found that I LOVE weightlifting. Before UFL, I had never lifted free weights. I can't express how awesome it is for me to say that I can now shoulder squat 90 lbs (over half my body weight!), and deadlift 75 lbs, comfortably. I feel strong, and coworkers are noticing. At least once a month, someone asks me if I've lost weight (I haven't, I've just gotten tighter) and want to know what I'm doing. I give all props to Jonathan. I really hate writing this post because I did really like this gym, but I have had a very…read morefrustrating cancellation process and maybe this will finally get a response. The gym itself is good, the trainers are great and the workout is super fun and tough. The place is never too busy so it's a pretty personal workout. If you go at the same time usually there is the same trainer and they really get to know you. I was pushed hard and felt great. The 30 minutes goes by quickly and felt effective. The facilities are pretty basic, there is no changing room just bathrooms, no showers, and no water bottle filling fountain (just a regular drinking fountain). The major downside is cost. This place is very expensive. I found a cheaper option that I can go to with my boyfriend (for both of us to go here it would be outrageous). So I decided to cancel. I called and they said to stop by in person. Ok, its annoying but whatever. I went in and filled out a confusing cancellation paper. The trainer working didn't really know how to fill it out. It was a 30 day cancellation notice as well. Super annoying again but whatever. Left my phone number for the owner multiple times and never got a call. I was charged that month but said it's ok, it'll be the last payment. Jump to the next month and I've been charged again. Ok now I'm pretty frustrated. AND this payment is more than 30 days after the last, 32 to be exact. I went by the gym to see if they had the paperwork so I could take a photo of it for my bank or just to speak with someone who knew what was up. Owner was MIA. So I left my phone number again. Stopped in another time, still no owner present. Still have not heard back at almost 2 months trying to cancel my membership. So I filled the dispute with my bank, hopefully they will get me my refund. Extremely frustrated through this cancellation process. So maybe just.. beware of that before joining.

I have gotten stronger and feel more stable on my feet than I used to. When I first started I was in rough shape, Joel worked with me with different exercises and techniques for getting my muscles to activate and respond the way they should. What once was an amazing, inspiring atmosphere whose leadership truly wanted to see people improve themselves jas become just another average run of the mill fitness establishment that's no better than the other fitness chains. It's no longer the advertised family friendly environment it once was. They work hard to maintain the facade of a great gym that is better than the rest when in reality they fall short in comparison. This gym has really become run down due to lack of maintenance. The bullet hole in the front window that's been there for a year or more is one example. The broken mirror in the multipurpose room is another. It's been broken for years at this point. They have pictures of pro athletes hung on the wall for all to see, many who used to support this gym. The multitude of pro athletes that once supported this gym has dwindled to just a few over the last year and now you don't see them in this gym much at all. The music is often inappropriate and vulgar and is played at levels that make it difficult to hear anyone you might be talking to (trainer, friend, staff, etc) during the weekdays, especially in the afternoons. The volume tends to be ok in the mornings and weekends though and i think that is because its different staff running the gym at those times. Should you bring the music volume up to gym ownership the response you get is inappropriate, acusatory, and unprofessional. On occasion, the facility smells of sewage when you walk in the door. It's been occurring for years but remains an issue to this day Equipment is often in need of maintenance that seems to take longer than other gyms to address (inoperable cardio equipment, torn up pleather seating or pulleys on weight machines, etc). The equipment is older and perhaps this is to be expected for an establishment with older equipment, I don't know. It does get fixed eventually though. The 3 knee pads available are compressed to the point of being ineffective and the 2 mats they have are torn and ripped. They have needed replacement for well over 6 months at this point.

But today this blonde girl who was working the front desk would not let me do a day pass. I got there at 7:00 she argued that I couldn't stay there after eight. This never was an issue before and I also go to other Powerhouse gyms like the Las Vegas one and never had an issue. So disappointed that I won't be able to workout here when I'm on the road. Thankfully I was able to go to armbrust pro gym and had no issue there. I hope they revise their travel policy.

I have been to Title and Easton for boxing, but I appreciate the super small class sizes (max of 8 for boxing), direct attention and instruction, and community feel of Gemini. The coaches, Dave, TJ, and Dion, all have tons of experience and are incredibly helpful. The other people at this gym are also warm and welcoming. I haven't done Jiu-Jitsu there yet, but I go to the boxing and kickboxing classes regularly, and bootcamp every once in a blue moon. I definitely recommend this place--the small groups lead to a lot of personalized support and it's an excellent value. I am feeling stronger, more empowered, and more knowledgeable about boxing as well as the mechanics of my own body. Highly recommend this great little spot in Englewood off of Broadway!
