One 2 One training center has been my gym home for over 11 years. Kenneth Williams has been my trainer for those 11 years. I did not grow up as an athlete but I have become one at this gym. I was 40 years old when I began training here. Kenneth is a stellar trainer and a wonderful encouragement to my personal fitness goals. The one 2 one people have become my extended family. There are trainers on site training folks but they are super nice and definitely not aggressive with equipment like trainers in other gyms. Short version: you aren't less just because you are training on your own. Everyone is courteous. There's plenty of workout space, plenty of equipment and variety of equipment. The building is organized into two floors and about 3-4 main training areas. The squat / deadlift room is a class act and these days an essential to have. The spaces are well lit, clean and organized. Members could rerack weights but this is a problem in all gyms right now. There's plenty of parking available. The building is well maintained. The changing rooms, showers are all clean and well maintained. There's no sauna, there is no steam room, there is no pool of any kind and good riddance -- those always bring the worst of the gym goers. There's no daycare, no children's area. Leave your children at home. Now there is a spa side, that's where steam and sauna might be. I don't know. That part is extra on top of the membership. You just have to decide if you need those services. I don't. The price point is higher than other gyms, and yes you get what you pay for. It is however the same pricing as Fit athletics that closed. If you ask what could be improved: The gym could use about 10-20 additional 45lb plates to be distributed in the training rooms they have as there aren't 45lb plates to go around in general. Just for clarification. I train heavy. Perhaps most other people did not notice this. The hours are a little conservative especially on Fridays and weekends. It's a family owned gym, you deal with real people, no corporate, it's mellow and friendly. Free of texting teenagers, children, socialites, fitness influencers, tripods and recording and other Houston annoyances, this gym is a breath of fresh air. It's for courteous, grown up, serious exercise enthusiast.

CONS: It's in a remodel which isn't ideal but that won't last forever. Doesn't affect use of gym, just aesthetics. Also, a tad pricier than a "big box" gym but you get what you pay for, I don't regret the investment. Ultimately I've been a member of a dozen gyms over 16 years and this is my favorite one so far. Each weight is put away, each workout instrument has its own spot, and there is no danger of tripping or getting confused about where to go/where to find something. Every member that I saw wipes down everything they used, and everything was well-maintained. -Friendliness I'm not sure why someone on here said they didn't feel welcomed-- That was a huge plus for me here. I felt very welcomed. Members approached me and spoke to me and asked me about my history with Crossfit. The coach, Sharon, was so nice and welcoming and paid close attention to me during the WOD. I even got a shout of encouragement from a member I hadn't spoken to during the workout--everyone encouraged each other. The coach pushed me to work harder. This box gets five stars for cleanliness, spaciousness, and friendliness. And, honestly, the showers are a HUGE plus! They have a 12pm class, so you can run over during your lunch break and shower up before going back to work. The workout that I did was great too, though I've only been to one course at this gym.

That said, they have young and middle aged professionals that have gotten ever more fit by following the programs. They have current & retired professional athletes looking for customized training during their off season. There are high school athletes getting coached on their sports' movement requirements and targeted training. Finally there are geezers and grandmas that can push some serious weights around, though it takes us longer to get there. In my case MUCH longer, but the journey is fun.
