I had a disappointing experience at Fa-Sa Thai today. If I can give ZERO stars I would. I placed a to-go order, and they only accept cash or Zelle. My total came to $41.33, and I paid with $100.35 in cash. I was given $59.00 back in change, so I politely mentioned that I was still owed $0.02. I even said, "It's okay, you can keep it." What bothered me wasn't the two cents--it was the owner's response. He told me that "the government said we're not allowed to use pennies anymore." That simply isn't true. Pennies are still legal U.S. currency, and I had just received pennies as change at a grocery store earlier that day. If a business chooses not to keep pennies on hand or has a rounding policy, that's one thing, but telling customers the government no longer allows the use of pennies is misleading. This was never about two cents. It was about honesty and customer service. As a business owner, if you owe a customer change, you should either provide it or explain your store's policy truthfully--not make a statement that isn't accurate. The menu is comprehensive but not overwhelming. We ordered Tom yum soup, pad kee mao,stir fry noodle and pork rib with rice. For dessert we ordered mango sticky rice. We called in advance, and luckily they had seatings available. They were kind enough to ask how many so they could get our table ready. Fortunately, it was just hubbie and I. We ordered their pad Thai, pad see ew, and bbq pork ribs. They were all SO good. I love their crispy pork option for pad Thai, it is literally crispy pork bellies on top of delicious pad Thai. Yum. This is my second time ordering to go. The first time I ordered drunken noodles, tom kha soup, masaman curry. The soup and the curry were very good. I ordered it with seafood and fish. Very surprised how good the masaman curry with fish was. Drunken noodles was not good. Didn't have the basil flavor and the beef was dry. For parking, it's located in a large plaza, so that wasn't an issue. The service was very attentive and quick. The staff was helping in getting the sauces and lemon on request. For payment, they only accept cash or Zelle. When it came to the food, my girlfriend and I got the pad thai and the bbq combo. The bbq combo consisted of chicken, ribs, satay beef, and satay chicken. I loved the pad thai as it was a bit sweet but it tasted even better with the added lemon. I felt it was a good balance with the saltiness of the bbq combo. This Thai spot is near where I am and I used to come here quite often before Covid. They are a mom and pop place and have been a solid Thai spot in the area. Dear FST, I've been here 3x, but I won't be returning because reasons: 1) the food is way too salty - I don't mind smaller portions, but use less salt OR have a salt warning on your menu. 2) some dishes are way too sweet - balance your flavors - my beef should not taste like dessert.
