Service was stand off-ish; even though we were the only customers, we were never greeted or offered recommendations as we explored the menu. We shared a grass jelly house speciality #3 that was packed to-go despite eating there. Felt like the photos posted by the business were misleading in this regard and the food and experience would have been more enjoyable if the presentation aligned with the marketing. not! too! sweet! the drinks at taro yuan are the definition of not too sweet! i tried their Taro Yuan House Special, which was a taro smoothie with taro balls. They use real taro here, not the artificially bright purple (but begrudgingly tasty) powder that's common at many boba stores. The taro flavor is super mild, smooth, and earthy. The drink was definitely not too sweet which I enjoyed, but I found that the taro flavor was a bit too mild; I wish there was a bit more of that taro paste swirl they had on the side of the cup. The interior was super cutesy and pink which was fun, and the service was great! The cashier was kind and didn't hesitate to offer recommendations. I stopped by Taro Yuan for some dessert that wasn't too sweet. The desserts are similar to MeetFresh with a stronger emphasis on taro toppings! I customized my own grass jelly dessert with taro paste, taro balls, mini taro balls, and red bean. The dessert melted pretty fast and there wasn't a strong taro taste that I was expecting. I came to the soft opening and it was very spacious with bright lights. This is right next to the boiling crab to go. Plenty of parking on the weekdays. Instead, I got a mysterious, flavorless beverage that tasted like it had been in the same room as tea but never actually met it. If this drink had a personality, it would be that one coworker who contributes nothing in meetings but still somehow collects a paycheck. But the experience did not stop there. Oh no. The music selection? Adele. On loop. Now, do not get me wrong--Adele is talented. But when you are sipping on a bland drink and suddenly "Hello from the other side..." starts playing, it really makes you reflect on your life choices. If I wanted to cry into my milk tea, I would at least want it to taste good. This was just emotional damage without the reward. Today we came to this new Taro Yuan location for the BOGO drinks. The interior was aesthetically pleasing with a purple/white aesthetic. It was extremely busy so we ordered on the kiosk. Due to the busyness, the workers were frantically working. When we were waiting one of the workers asked us to come over because they "ran out of boba". Still, they were pretty nice, offering a substitute topping. Several minutes later our drinks came out (Taro Yuan House Special, Bubble tea, and the Green Tea with Grass Jelly). These drinks were not so good... The tea was extremely diluted with little to no fragrance (we put 50% ice too). Came in on a Thursday afternoon and it was empty. The shop was clean and super cute. There are plenty of tables to sit and eat. The girls that were working there were so nice. I really wanted grass jelly dessert so I ordered the house hot grass jelly soup to go. I didn't order their drinks because it seems like there were quite a few reviews that their milk tea isn't great. The taro balls were delicious and chewy. Boba was good but could have slightly less chew (not bad but just a personal preference). Grass jelly had great flavor, not as intense as grass jelly you would find in Taiwan or Hong Kong but good enough! So happy to have an alternative to meet fresh. Also they gave me 10% off because they are having a special promo for March. Definitely going back next time to enjoy some of their other desserts with some friends. read more

I went here a little bit ago and I don't know if there were two managers or something, but they were always fighting and it really made the ambiance kind of awkward. Taro Yan is a better version of Meet Fresh IMO specializing in you guessed it, taro! They have both hot and cold items and plenty of non taro choices for those that dont like the purple potato. Omg!!! The service here is beyond horrendous!!! I ordered a taro smoothie and waited 30 minutes and they still didn't make it! I demanded a refund because I could not wait any longer, and the unprofessional manager who was supposed to issue the refund was making me wait for the refund, and said I have to wait even more and stared daggers at me. So I told her she can just keep the money, as they clearly need the funds to hire more people. Waiting 30 mins for a boba is dumb. Don't go here as you will wait forever and they will make you wait for a refund and they might not even issue the refund. Disgusting for a brand new business, and with this type of service and an unprofessionalism, it will fail in no time! read more
