Really spacious and cute seatings table, w benches seatings along the wall & they were setting up small wooden table and stools outside while i was dining w my Gfren. Absolutely love and appreciate their bogo deals, but when there's a promo, the place is always PACKED! Can get crowded and noisy, but on other days, the place is nice and chill. Staff is friendly and kind. Orders are taken and made pretty quickly! I've only tried the coconut special and che Thai, but I think the coconut special is the best one! I like the flan, taro balls and soft coconut pieces that come with it. Overall, a pretty good che place. My parents and uncle approve! read more

4.5 stars, tried for the first time. Really good chè, not too sweet at all. I got 3 items for me and family. Chè ba mau (tricolor)- I really liked all the beans, jelly, etc they put in it. Someone said they don't like all the big sweet beans but those are my fav part of this che. So if you don't like beans .... Don't get this or ask of they can make it with less? Chè bo (avocado)- delicious, this was my brothers. He liked it. Not too sweet. Basic coconut - sis in law ordered this. I didn't get to try but she really likes this one. She's been here before. One thing to note if u are allergic to dairy: there are a few items with no dairy. They told me the tricolor was no dairy but later on I saw that on the menu that is actually says "has the least dairy" in Vietnamese. It's ok bc I'm not terribly allergic but maybe they shouldn't say that it doesn't contain dairy in case someone is allergic. Also the staff were really nice but could be more informed. Ok I feel this is one of the most underrated Vietnamese dessert place. Apparently they've been here for over a year and I'm only hearing about it now! My family and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and this place was vibing! The area is spacious with high ceiling so it definitely created that energized and loud environment, but also nostalgic for me. The service was top notch! The cashier was extremely friendly, approachable, and efficient! How can you complain about that? We wanted to try different desserts so we can all get a little bit of taste test. We got the avocado (chè bơ), the three colors (chè 3 màu), matcha tofu, and tofu flan (đậu hũ flan). Avocado - 4.5/5 everything used fresh ingredients. It's not avocado season so it wasn't as soft as it should but still pretty good! The Three Colors - 5/5 very sweet but because the ice is set to the side it was perfectly balanced and you can adjust to your liking. Such an iconic dessert in the Vietnamese community! Matcha Tofu - 5/5 if you love matcha you will love this! It's not sweet and if there is it's very faint, but you definitely can taste the matcha shine through!! Chè Vi is one of my favorite places for Vietnamese dessert now. My friend likes their Coconut Special and I wanted to order it as well. However, the cashier told me I could not substitute it with a non-dairy milk alternative. I've had the chè ba màu, or 3-color dessert. It was pretty good. I believe it had mung bean, kidney beans, bánh lot (chewy pandan jelly), and a few other things mixed in. I prefer the one at Chè Hien Khanh. I've also had the Tofu Special $8 which is my favorite. It comes with the ube balls and flan, although I think I like the ube better. It was so good I came back the next day! There is plenty of seating inside and it gets packed at night. Easy eats Vietnamese desserts in a strip mall. Got some after dinner dessert - ordered the coconut special. Came with a bunch of coconut and ube - along with flan, pandan jelly, tapioca water chestnuts, and such. Was the right amount of sweetness - and actually felt there was a bit too much of some of the ingredients in the dessert, there was no way I was finishing the contents. I've been trying all the different che places in OC lately and Che Vi was the last spot I hadn't had. I finally had the opportunity yesterday. Their menu is a little different than the other Vietnamese Che places. Their popular ones include the coconut special and the tofu one. I like that they had a variety of tofu ones that other places do not have. But they had the regular ones that other places do have like the Che Thai. They did not have a dac biet one. I went with their coconut special which included a large full cup with a side cup of ice. In it included jelly, young fresh coconut shavings, taro cubes, and a flan. Everything in it was really good. I especially liked the flan and the coconut shavings. I liked that it wasn't too sweet and was perfect. A cup was definitely shareable. My che came out pretty quick although there was a large party before me. The inside of this place has tables and chairs for you to enjoy. Parking is easy since they are located in a stripe mall. I had a random hankering for dessert but didn't want anything heavy. Found this highly rated spot that was still open, so we gave it a shot. I walked in staring at the menu with zero clue what anything was since most of it's in Vietnamese. Then I noticed these little containers, pulled out Google Translate, and saw they were basically jello. Sold. I love small, petite desserts that don't send me into a sugar coma. I grabbed the coffee and taro flavors, and at $1.50 each...absolute perfection. Light, not too sweet and weirdly addictive. I also ordered the #5 grass jelly and pandan in coconut milkand asked them to go easy on the sugar. Heaven in a cup. Seriously. I also really appreciated that they give you the ice on the side, so you're not paying for a cup full of ice instead of dessert. Such a small but thoughtful touch. Honestly I've drove by this place so many times and have avoided going in because there has always been such a long line and even inside there's SO many people in there. I'm ashamed to say I avoided this place for so long because I've had mediocre experiences at several new che places that opened up, and similarly expected this place to be disappointing. The ube ball is perfectly soft and chewy and has the right amount of ube flavor. I don't know how they prepare the coconut but it's ridiculously smooth and soft???? AMAZING! Their coconut base/liquid is light and refreshing, not heavy or too sweet at all. I don't know if some people might think it's slightly watery? But I think it's better this way, lol. We also had the coconut special, which is the same as the above, but with the addition of flan. The flan was not for me. It was thick and weighed down the lightness of the dessert, in my opinion. Pandan and grass jelly: Wish the pandan was just slightlyyy chewier, but overall, good pandan flavor. Also very generous with the amount of grass jelly included. Again, love how light the coconut base is. Avocado: Full of avocado flavor and I love the little chunks of avocado as well. The avocado pudding was delicious and I liked it much better compared to their flan. Easily my new favorite che place. Everything we've tried here has been so light, perfectly sweet, and delicious. Workers are friendly, and even when there is a long line, they make the che efficiently and quickly. This is one of our favorite Vietnamese dessert shops whenever we're in the area. We ordered the A4. Coconut Special and two A8. The che competition is pretty fierce here, but our favorite recent spot has been Che Vi in the past few months. Che Vi has various che desserts available from avocado to tofu to coconut averaging around $6-7ish. They're pretty quick with the turnaround and are able to make small adjustments like sweetness level. We usually like to get the coconut and tofu specials. For these, you get the flan, rice balls, green jelly, and ube balls. They also usually give you a cup of ice and able to give you more cups/ice if needed. We love that the che here isn't overly sweet and that each of the different items in the che seem to be made well with the right texture. The avcoado is pretty solid as well for us. Parking is pretty plentiful in this part of the strip mall plaza. Just getting in is a little tight behind the McDonald's and tucked away to the side. Seating is not too bad usually and not uber busy on weekdays. The only time we've seen crazy line is as I'll mention below the BOGO deal days where we've had to hover sometimes a bit to find seating inside and bigger groups tend to come in these days. The mango tastes just like a mango drink. Pandan jelly wasn't anything special but the coconut soy milk was what drawn me to the drink. I don't think this place makes the best avocado dessert but the amount of fresh avocado slices makes it note worthy. I feel like the base (liquid) should be more avocado-ish otherwise it's just the fruit chunks that they are calling it avocado dessert.
