This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I hired Cerdas Upholstery to…read morereupholster my boat cushions and was told I could pay by credit card or Zelle. When I went to pick them up, the manager, Fernando, suddenly demanded cash only and refused to release the cushions. I offered to pay with both Zelle and credit card, as we had agreed, but they refused. I made multiple trips trying to resolve it and wasted over four hours of my time. When I offered to pay via Zelle -- as we had discussed -- both Fernando and his mother refused, raised their voices at me, and behaved in a way that made me feel threatened. I ultimately had to call the police, and only after the officers arrived did they finally agree to accept the Zelle payment and hand over the cushions. To make matters worse, the cushions were in terrible shape -- dirty, marked, with damaged vinyl, no skillset shown, don't know how to do piping, wasted materials -- and still extremely overpriced. They were supposed to make new piping with the vinyl I provided, but at pickup they stated they didn't know how. They put the old piping on, even though I specifically asked not to use the old one at drop off. The business also appears to operate with undocumented workers and shady business practices. The entire process was stressful, unprofessional, and needlessly hostile. I strongly advise avoiding Cerda's Upholstery. You can get better quality reupholstered boat cushions elsewhere for a fraction of the cost, without the aggravation or risk.

We also needed to reupholster four dining table chair seats in black leather, and they also replaced the seat foam, making the 15+ year old chairs look and feel brand new. The polyurethane lacquer was badly chipped on these and required careful stripped to protect the beautiful maple frames. The other two vendors I contacted, didn't get back to me at all, I won't name names. Communication and transparency are very important to me, they were very detailed and their explanation and timeline to complete my project. Eddie and Manuel came to my house and brought fabric swatches for me to pick out pick out. I already knew what I wanted so it was kind of easy. Within a matter of minutes Eddie, loaded my chairs onto his truck, gave me a written invoice, I paid my deposit, and they were on their way. The project took just about a week. And they were well within their two week timeframe that they gave me. I could not be happier with the work that they did, it is beautiful. I will go to them again if I have more Upholstery needs.

This is a long overdue review for Chimo's! I have two couches that I bought after college second…read morehand. After over 10 years of owning them, the fabric on my sofa bed started to fall apart, because it was never meant to be used as a daily couch, and the other sofa looked worse for wear with bad microfiber fabric and damaged cushions/edging. I reached out to Chimos in Nov '24 and Joselyn came to my home and gave me an estimate based on my choice of fabric and some recommendations to help improve the function of the couch. To my surprise, they were able to pick it up later that same day to get started. It took a little under 4 weeks and I was thrilled with the final result. It's been over a year and it hardly seems like it's been sat on, even though it's my main couch. I was so happy at the quality of the job, that I reached out to Joselyn a month later asking if she could come and give me an estimate for the 2nd sofa. This one was not just a straight reupholster, I asked if they could re-design the sofa itself, by incorporating some padding on the arms, changing the foam to be more comfortable, adding legs, and fixing some of the frame so it could look similar to the first one. Again, they were able to pick it up the same day, and even though there were more changes, it took half as long as the first one, and they delivered it promptly. Their team who picked up and dropped off was also very professional, and they were so kind about having to carry both couches up and down the stairs to my apartment, since my building doesn't have an elevator. Overall, I am so so happy with both couches; they now look like a sibling set. Reupholstering is definitely pricey, and I had to save up for it but I'm thrilled with the quality of the work and now I know these will last years more. If I ever have a need to get anything else reupholstered, I'll definitely be calling Chimo's again. ¡Gracias Joselyn y el equipo de Chimo's!
