It was 5 Ish on a Friday night. They were not busy, but I'm sure they would be when we left. We started with a yummy dirty martini and John was our server who was very friendly, smiling and very prompt to our needs. We started with the yummy Chicken Lollipops. Delicious herb aioli to dip the chicken in. Then had some yummy butter rolls. I wish I would have tried the Lamb burger but we shared the Fish and Chips. A nice Irish pub that's more! The pub is large with dark wood and furniture to make it warm and welcoming, like you stepped back in time. It's large, airy and it makes you want to spend time there. If you like fish and chips then you will really enjoy your food. Two big pieces of freshly battered cod are served with a mountain of potato wedges. The tarter sauce is not overpowering and it also came with malt vinegar. I was genuinely surprised by how good the fish was. We also tried the avocado rlt and enjoyed the Irish bacon once I trimmed it up a bit. The bread was seeded and toasted to perfection. That too was served with the potato wedges ( chips). People at every table seemed to be having a good time in this lively atmosphere. From the moment we were greeted to paying the bill , service was really good. Kicked off Restaurant Week with a fantastic dinner here! There's so many places in the Bridge Park area, but this restaurant caught my eye because it looked fancy, yet casual. Our waitress sat us down immediately and we got our drinks and orders placed within minutes. We never had to wait long for our food throughout the dinner. For the first course, I opted for the Harp Battered Fish Tacos. Delicious! The chipotle aioli had a nice kick to it, but nothing over the top. The fish fell apart in your mouth, but had that nice crunch when biting into it. For the main course, I got the Brick Roasted Half Chicken. I was stunned at the amount of food on my plate! The mashed potatoes were awesome alone, but the mushroom whiskey sauce really topped it off. The chicken was very moist and also went well with the sauce. They did a great job with the sweetened Brussel sprouts and parsnips. I'd never had parsnips before, but they tasted really good when sweetened. To finish, I ordered the Harvest Bread Pudding. SO yummy!! The combination of the warmth of the bread with the chill of the ice cream and the thickness of the whip cream was incredible. The nuts and cinnamon were a delectable touch too. Interesting seating setup. The bar isn't just straight, there's a jut, and another small area just a few steps away. The main bar's height is very awkward - unusually high, like level with the top of my sternum, not the greatest for resting arms. Not the greatest lighting, either. There's a good amount of seats throughout. TVs mostly around the bar area; I wouldn't doubt this place fills up during the spring and summer sporting months - location, location, location. Not being super hungry, I decided to partake in their happy hour offerings: select items on the Snacks portion of their menu are $6 during that time frame. I settled on the Smoked Salmon Bites. While good, I was definitely expecting a bit more of the smoked fish pieces; but then again, for $6, I guess this is what you pay for. The potato blinis were subtle, good seasoning/flavors. I feel like there isn't enough horseradish components in this world, so I gobbled down their sauce drizzle - yum. Overall, this was a great dish; perfect size. I would definitely get this again if it remains on the menu (or is the menu here seasonal...?). I do want to mention the ambiance/decor/atmosphere did not match what I was expecting. I instantly liked this place just upon walking in. Modern upscale decor but not too stuffy, a warm pub vibe and decently open space. Four of us got a table immediately, being a Monday night helped of course. The menu has a good amount of appetizers and snacks, a few main dishes, along with some burger and salad options. Their drink menu has a good variety of options too. You get a bread basket after you order which is a nice touch. I started out with the chicken liver pate, which was soooooo so good. Whenever I see this dish on a menu I have to get it. It was probably in the top two I have ever had. They put this awesome marmalade on top which adds a bit of sweet to the balance the flavor. Even though no one else in my group would try it.. their loss. It's awesome!! For my main dish I ordered the lamb burger, which was a decent size and great flavor. It comes with a side of generic fries, they weren't bad but they were the only mediocre part of my meal. Everything else was awesome. My girlfriend ordered the brick roasted half chicken dish, which came with an Irish version of mashed potatoes with cabbage or kale added in. She said the chicken itself was good but it is hard to cut into so you have to get your hands dirty a bit. Others with us tried the black bean burger and and I believe the roasted beet salad and seemed to enjoy their dishes too. Our server was super sweet and was pretty good. We both ordered their Rueben sandwich cuz the waiter said they do their own spin on the traditional sandwich by using their house made slaw instead of the kraut. It was on point. So good! Would definitely get that again. He got wedge fries and I got the colcanon (Irish mashed potatoes) and they were really good too. We were initially planning to go to the Red Hen but they had a 45 min wait. So after a bit of a wait at the restaurant, we took a walk to see if Fado had an opening, and they took us in right away. The ambience is nice and open. This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating space to came here to see if they would be open, and I'm glad we did. Our server Ellis was outstanding -- very friendly and helpful. Based on his recommendation, we got the cheese tater tots (appetizer), the pub burger, and the half chicken. We also got the appetizer chicken liver and the shepherds pie. The tater tots and the chicken liver were decent. I especially liked the marmalade on the chicken liver. My entree dish was the chicken and I liked it but not as much as the pub burger that my son had ordered or my wife's Shepherd's pie. The marmalade on the burger was also delicious and the shepherd's pie had a really flavorful filling. Also, the cocktails here were very good as well. Overall a very nice place. This place is legit. I'm always looking for a new place and Fado fit the bill. I walked in 2 nights ago was greeted by a Christmas giving wall for charity. The hostess was shortly past and they quickly had me to my seat. I chose to sit at one of the bars singe I was alone. My waiter Rich was AWESOME. very friendly, attentive, suggestive. This place was very busy yet he didn't miss a beat. I had the Farmhouse salad with blackened salmon. This was a nice light meal and salmon was cooked perfectly. YES I came back the following night with a colleague. We shared the shrimp appetizer and my colleague has fish chips and I fish tacos. The fish & chips are top top dish here were good. The fish tacos are not on the menu but waiter Rich told me about them so I had to get. They were also very good. Fado has a wonderful feel inside, I love the decor and the staff is very friendly. We had lunch here, the atmosphere is relaxing, the waitress was very nice. We split the fried goat cheese appetizer, it was amazing. My daughter ordered the fish and chips, her comment was, "I have had better, I have had worse". I ordered the Ruben sandwich. I love Ruben's, but not this one. The rye bread was as thick as Texas toast and the crust was extremely tough. Instead of sauerkraut, they used their house made coleslaw, and there was no type of dressing. Maybe another food item would change my mind, but I cannot recommend a place this expensive if one is not satisfied with the meal. read more

I've been to this Fado a few times and have always had good experiences. It's a lovely space, nice patio, good food and always great service. Today they went above and beyond. I came with my parents for brunch, but was a bit disappointed to see something I had ordered in the past wasn't on the menu anymore. I'm vegetarian and have a gluten intolerance so I'm used to this being a problem, but the waiter went and spoke to the chef to see what they could do for me. Next thing I know, the chef is at the table making several delicious suggestions for me. I ended up getting a lovely breakfast bowl with hash browns, eggs, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and avocado. It was so delicious! And they charged for me as if I had something on the menu. My mom ordered the half chicken and loved it, especially the veggies. My dad loved his breakfast as well. Really yummy Bloody Mary I might add. Gorgeous location by the river extra star for that. Food marginally irish and massively overpriced. Husband ordered the Shepard's pie and I got the fish and chips, but substituted the duck fat fries. The fries were massive wedges about 1/4 of a potato, more like a overgrown steak fry. I was expecting them to be exceedingly crispy due to the the duck fat. They weren't. For the price I'd have expected larger fish pieces as well. The Shepard's pie was nice, though they claimed there was colcanon on top, why I have no idea, but I couldn't tell it was anything but mash. We aren't beer people do I can't review that part. They had all the lights off inside it seemed like, so at high noon the place was very dark. Overall we spent 60 bucks on lunch and were hungry an hour later. We don't get to Columbus often, but we certainly won't be trying this place again. read more

Upscale Irish Pub. Great location. If I were sitting at a table, the menu would only elusively reveal its Irish pub fare with a few subtle options among the other decadent choices. I was with a group of 8 for an after-work event and we sampled many items - everything was outstanding and I rarely have "other plate jealousy" but it was in full swing and I will be returning soon. (Special note if I were at the bar I would KNOW this is an Irish pub based on the selection. I indulged in the cocktail menu - this place makes a nice "old fashioned") The service is impeccable. The food is well prepared and presents beautifully. Location: 6652 Riverside Drive, Dublin (Bridge District) Menu: https://www.fadopubandkitchen.com/ (Hours also posted on website) Price: moderate to expensive, depending on number of courses. Several entrees are under $20 and most under $30 - which is a great value considering the quality of ingredients and portion size. Parking: plenty of parking available and all is free (parking garages and street parking) - watch out for the 2 hour and 4 hour spots and consider parking in the garage instead because you may want to stay over 2 hours. The restaurant is that good. Decor: upscale, yet comfortable. My only criticism (and this is a stretch) is the artwork is not up to par with the location, decor, and menu. This is so trivial - I can't even allow myself to change the 5-star rating. Shared Appetizers or "Snacks" on the menu: 1) Chili-Garlic Shrimp - this was the table favorite and I highly recommend - great for sharing or for a single order meal. Dinner orders: 1) Fish & Chips (2 orders) Sustainably caught cod from the deep, icy waters of the North Atlantic with crispy chips, tartar and coleslaw. ... beautifully battered and fried cod served with the traditional accompaniments. The 2 diners raved about this dish. 2) Shepherd's Pie (2 orders) Ground beef and vegetables in a rich sauce topped with colcannon. ... This was my choice since I wanted to use this to compare to other Irish pub-style restaurants. Rich meat layer but the vegetables were lost in the gravy and I found the colcannon a nice finishing touch (addition of cabbage or kale to potatoes providing a slightly lighter topping than straight mashed potatoes) 3) Red Wine Braised Short Ribs (2 orders) With parsnip puree, roasted carrots, green peas, charred pearl onions, shaved fried parsnips and short rib jus ... This gave me the highest dose of jealousy for someone else's plate. 4) Seared Scallops & Linguine (1 order) In a creamy chorizo sauce with heirloom tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach ... This was a much heartier portion of pasta than I expected. This was dose number 2 of jealous eyes - amazing this was at the $30 price point for such a large ribeye. I had remembered a dessert was on another special menu leading me to my only regret. My largest regret is failing to insist we order from the Venetian Carnival menu. Okay. Went on a a Sunday for brunch and it was great. Great cocktails, good menu, good service. My issue with my experience is with my open face breakfast sandwich. LITERALLY a square piece of toast with 1 egg. 12$???? Talk about a money grab. Listen you culinary geniuses in the back/in the office. A sandwich has two pieces of bread. One on top and one on the bottom. So when the menu says open face sandwich one can assume there are 2 pieces of toast with 2 eggs. Just like a traditional breakfast of two eggs and toast, right? That hollandaise sauce on the side was a special request, FYI. I can't help but laugh that Fado management would approve such a ridiculous brunch item. "We don't cater to children" is what the manager told my friend who went to go change her toddler in the bathroom only to find out they do not have a changing table or room at all to even improvise. However, they do have highchairs, which we used at our table. Not really sure about this, but my friend was offended. The space is beautiful. Super trendy and well decorated. We were the first table to arrive and were able to sit at a nice spot with a good view of the TV (English Premier Soccer). I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a side of fruit. Hubs had the avocado toast. Most of us enjoyed our meals (one friend said her eggs Benedict had way too much sauce) the service was super slow. It took a long time to get our food. Updated review: my maid of honor hosted our engagement party here this weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better location! Although they don't have a private party room, they sectioned off an area of the back room for us and we kind of took over the patio too. Service was amazing, our waiter did a fantastic job checking that everyone had enough food and drinks. They provided a gluten free allergy menu for my mom too, which was a huge help! I took my out-of-town parents to Fado over the weekend. It was a breeze to make reservations online and being in Bridge Park, there are lots of fun things around to do before or after a meal. Win win! We were seated right away, even though we arrived a bit early. Looking around the place and at the menu, it feels like an upscale Irish pub. Our waitress was really nice and the service was prompt. The four of us shared a big pretzel and ordered a round of drinks. They have a lot of interesting beer on tap. I tried a witbeir from France that I'd never heard of. It was awesome and went perfectly with my fish and chips entree. Speaking of fish and chips - I think this was the best I've had. Fado is a really neat spot. I have always known them as a soccer bar but I went to lunch at this new location with my gf, her mom, and her grandpa. The menu is a bit unique with lots of irish type food and pub food but I would say there's a good chance you can find something that most anyone would like. I had the fish and chips which was really good, classically made and yummy! All of us really enjoyed our food and said we would definitely be back again. We ordered the sangria, one red and one white. Both were delicious, no too sweet either. For our food, we got fried goat cheese, beet hummus, and the caprese flatbread. All were very good, especially for the price. The goat cheese balls were good, but I wish the hot honey would have had a little more kick to it. Very disappointed. Not worth the prices charged and frankly underwhelming. I call to place a takeout order and have to call back after being on hold so long I assumed they had forgotten about the holding call. Oh no, the hostess tells me, the bartender takes the orders and he/she is busy. She offers to take the order and pass it off to prevent me waiting again. Much appreciated. We pick up the food and it is ready to go when we arrive. Again, much appreciated. Unfortunately, it was downhill from there. I arrive home to find that the one substitution side I requested was not remembered. Oh well, who wants Brussels sprouts when you can have fries, right? Does the food look good? The sandwiches looked nice, were organized within their containers, and were appetizing. That's where the appeal ends. The shepherd's pie looked as though the cafeteria workers from way back in high school had dropped a single ladle of shepherd's pie into a dish and slapped the lid on as quickly as possible. The duck fat fries looked like someone had tossed 5 Ore-Ida potato wedges into a dish (literally 5 fries) and the "charred broccoli" looked like it had never been with 500 feet of a flame. Last but not least, the parsnips and Brussels sprouts were paltry with a total of 3 sprouts in the entire order. So much for first impressions. Stay positive I told the group; I've heard the food tastes great. So what if the portions are small and the food looks unappealing. Ah disappointment, you never disappoint. Charred broccoli- more aptly named lightly steamed quarters of a broccoli head without seasoning. Duck fat fries- if they had tasted like the Ore-Ida fries referred to above, that would have been an upgrade. Parsnips and sprouts- average. Shepherd's pie- actually quite good bit not worth the price tag. Lamb burger- decent. Understated flavor. The sandwiches were good ( avocado RLT and black bean burger). The goat cheese balls were well flavored but soggy rather than crispy; same with the fries, same with the bread on the sandwiches. Some suggestions for Fado: 1. If portions were appropriate, I'd suggest smaller containers for the shepherd's pie, parsnips/sprouts, and duck fat fries. It will help manage expectations. 2. For crispy items, I'd suggest alternate packaging to allow steam to escape so they aren't soggy when the customer gets them home. Last suggestion for the consumer: 3. If you are looking for flavorful dishes, I'd steer clear of the duck fat fries and the charred broccoli. Extremely bland and certainly not worth the price. read more

I feel more than the interiors and location, the food should be consistent across all locations. I know it could be hard, but to deserve the same rating it needs to be there.
