I think a lot of the reviews are misleading. Service is exceptional, same with presentation. I was expecting the food to rock my socks off. However nothing is special about the food. The food -- every selection I've tried over 20+ visits -- has been exceptional. The only thing that is better than their food is their service. You may think of good service as an attentive waiter or waitress who smiles with a bubbly demeanor. While that's pleasant, no, it doesn't compare. The staff here knows the food, they know the wine or can get someone who does with in house sommeliers who are outstanding. They are excited for you to experience what they have to offer and I get excited taking friends and family here to experience it. One of the fancier restaurants in Fredericksburg that offers a variety of meats and seafood. I've been a couple times and my favorite item is the Hanger Steak. I had to ask them to reheat because it was too rare (asked for medium rare), but it's usually perfect. Their Truffle Mac and cheese is creamy, delicious, and perfectly seasoned. I have gotten the Veal Tomahawk Steak, but it was too fatty for me and not worth the price. Their bone marrow escargot is so creamy and goes perfect with bread. We came here for our anniversary yesterday evening. We had a reservation, but they were a bit behind, and if I didn't check in at the hostess stand a second time, they would have given our table to a couple without a reservation. I ordered a smoked old fashion, which ended up not being smoked. My wife ordered the Fahrenheit Infusion, which she has ordered multiple times before and it was good, but this time just tasted like jalapenos. We order the shrimp cigars as an appetizer, it was fine, nothing outstanding. My wife ordered the filet, medium, with mac and cheese and carrots and added a lobster tail. I ordered the veal tomahawk, medium, with mashed potatoes and carrots and added a crab cake. The filet came out well done as well as my tomahawk. The staff was very dismissive about and flat out told me mine was not well done and was actually medium. You could clearly see it was well done, and tough to add. It was just very odd to have the staff including the manager to be dismissive and almost argumentative about it, when you could clearly see both steaks were cooked well done. They brought my wife out another filet, even though she told them to forget it because of their attitude about the situation. The second one came out rare and she said it was fine. They did not even offer to replace my steak. The lobster tail was chewy and fishy. The Mac and cheese and carrots were good, again nothing outstanding. My crab cake was ok, not bad. We have come here alot over the years and the food is usually excellent and the staff is usually excellent. I get a restaurant having a bad night and making mistakes and then fixing it for the customer. What is unacceptable, for me, is how they handled the situation with our clearly overcooked steaks. It was an easy fix and we would have happily returned again as happy customers. Unfortunately, after how they handled the situation last night, we will not be returning. It's sad to see a once excellent restaurant in Fredericksburg, where there are not very many high end restaurant choices, become worse than your local Applebee's. read more

Went in during happy hour for a quick date with my girlfriend. I don't drink alcohol often so we went in for the food. We arrived early and waited at the door but it was worth it when we went inside. Wish I had taken pictures, food was delicious, we ended up ordering too much and shared the banana pudding at the end. I also ended up drinking as well because their drink descriptions were also enticing. Here's a list of the food, sorry there's no pictures. Truffle fries: 4.5/5 if you love crisp thin salted fries then these are the best for you. Only reason I don't give a 5/5 is because it was one grain of salt too much for me. French onion soup: 4.5/5 delicious soup with a nice cheese top finish. I don't feel comfortable giving a 5/5 because I don't eat French onion soup often and thus want to give space for possible improvement Salmon tacos: 5/5 honestly I was expecting less flavor getting tacos from a restaurant and not a street vendor in the southern parts of US/America, but their tacos did not disappoint, pretty good. Drinks: we got something with blackberry and something with cherry, both were pretty good. I'm super light weight so I only drank half but as someone who avoids alcohol, if I could finish it I would have. Also we got some cheese curd dish and that was also delicious, though they had some sort of sauce along with it that I thought was a little strong and found myself enjoying the cheese curds without dipping it into the sauce. Came here for dinner tonight and the entire experience was great. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating -- we initially went to sit at the bar but since there was a guy who was in the bathroom we decided not to wait to ask him to slide down a seat so we could sit together. Instead we sat at the cocktail bar at the front of the restaurant (also first come, first serve). Even so the bartender came back over and asked if we wanted to move to the bar, which was very considerate and a nice touch. For food we had the Salmon over Quinoa and the Dual Pork Chops. The pork chops were perfectly cooked -- nice and juicy but cooked all the way through (which is very tough to do). I also loved the garlic mashed potatoes that accompanied the dish. The salmon was fresh and well prepared, though I did think the quinoa was a bit underwhelming and lacking a little bit of flavor (if there was a complain at all, that would be it). The Back to Bangkok cocktail featured below in the photos was DEE-licious. It reminded me of a spicy Moscow mule but the basil smear on the edge of the glass really put it over the top. read more

We had a lovely dinner here for our 23rd wedding anniversary, the wait staff was amazing and they brought out a dessert of handmade chocolates and powdered sugar that said happy anniversary on it. It was a very nice touch. If I could give another half star I would give this 4.5 stars. The only reason not 5 was because we were seated next to the very loud bar, I hoped since the occasion was indicated on reservation that they would have seated us somewhere more secluded from the bar. We felt like we were yelling across the table to talk. Our waited and rest of the waitstaff were very accommodating and attentive. But if I am going to pay 200 for a dinner for two, I don't want to hear the deep end bass of something that may have been hip-hop - I couldn't hear through the deafening ear shattering noise, most certainly a combination of the tv at the bar, the hollering and carrying on of the crowd, the street noise. The waiter was inattentive. The sides (6 or 7 bucks a pop) were cold and bland. And when I asked for dinner rolls I was informed they only had bread. We got cold bread. We arrived at 8:00 and were greeted by very friendly staff at the hostess stand. Our table was not ready so we sat at the bar for drinks. The guava margarita was beyond outstanding, bursting with flavor and very refreshing. Our table was ready promptly at 8:15For appetizers we opted for the Imported Burrata and the pork belly. Both dishes were well balanced, flavorful and well presented. For entrees the baseball cut sirloin was a true winner and the venison tenderloin was equally delicious. Our server Ed was attentive, prompt and very knowledgeable of the menu providing outstanding personal recommendations.
