Pretty good! Ordered deviled eggs and the lump crab cake. Probably one of the best scene cakes I've had. They're jumbo and don't disappoint on the lump and lump crab cake. Great flavor with a light crust in the outside. Deviled eggs were great too. Very creamy. More in the sweet side rather than tangy. I don't mind it though. It was good to switch it up from a traditional deviled egg. Most of the service was great. One employee was very kind while another one just didn't want to be there that day. Standing room only inside and seating outdoor area. I would recommend this place!

Being from LA, a few of my friends from the DMV were so serious about Faidley's Crab Cakes that they'd have them flown in for special occasions. Had my first taste about 15 years ago and hadn't had them since. Finally making it to the legendary Lexington Market to try them again was a genuinely special moment. The crab cake was incredible, fresh and loaded with lump crab meat the whole way through. The crab soup was great too. But it was the whole experience, the food, the history, the vibe of Lexington Market, that really made it.

Quick service, but standing tables and counters only. The crab cake was full of crab, very little filling and not dry at all! The fries were a bit plain, but I did enjoy the mac and cheese. Overall, the food was good, but it was a bit pricey.

Stayed nearby and heard that the Lexington market is the place to go. Was also recommended to come to Faidley's. The crab cake was sooo good. The crunchiness on the outside made it have so many layers of flavor. We tried the oysters too. They opened the oysters right in front of you. I asked how to eat it and got detailed instructions on how to eat oysters this way~ it was good as well. We were debating which soup to get. The nice lady gave us some samples so that we can taste them beforehand.

The best crab cake in Baltimore. Bar none. Mac and cheese was well seasoned and delicious. I also enjoyed the deviled eggs. But seriously, get the crab cake, maybe two. They're perfect.

Finally got up Crab spot 3 while on the crab crawl and it wasn't bad. I'd say the Crabcake is 2nd on the list only because of the temperature and shell pieces. Service was great. The lady who took our order explained items and gave great recommendations. The ambiance was cool. Definitely keep in mind they have table tops and no chairs. There is seating outside on the patio. The market is very unique and I would come back and try the blue crab and other seafood.

This stop during my trip to Baltimore was well worth it. Went for the gold and ordered the Jumbo crab cake platter. Had G&M a few days ago which I thoroughly enjoyed, but this one may be my new favorite so far. I really wanted to try the raw oysters as well but I was too full for it, I may go back and try them before heading back home. I watched plenty of YouTube videos on Faidley's and I must say it was well worth the hype. The ladies working here were so sweet and helpful, they certainly enhanced the experience.

The soft shell crab sandwich hit the spot! I was craving seafood and I was surprised by the options. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich platter and chose pickled cucumbers and Mac & Cheese. The staff were patient and very kind since I have my kids with me. I felt very welcomed by the friendly Staff. The Natty Bo was prefer pairing with the sandwich. I love the atmosphere as it felt in I was stepping into history here! I loved all the photos and memorabilia. There is also a counter to order crabs to go as well!

Wow, the seafood here is absolutely incredible! In a small mall like building with lots of other restaurants. Tried the crabcake, catfish, shrimp, and fries. The crabcake was LEGIT and probably the best I've had in my life. That catfish was also worth the try and was very surprised by the taste of it, man, this place is great!! Whenever I'm back in Baltimore I'll be going back here cus wow!! The reason for the 4 stars was the customer service, I didn't like that there was a cashier that was very rude. I understand it's busy but also important to make customers feel good

I love the crabcakes from here! They were very moist, well seasoned, and crispy on the outside. It had a good amount of crab meat as opposed to just filling. For the sides I got the collard greens and the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was OK. I don't think I would get it again - it was kind of mushy and lacked any depth of flavor. The collard greens were pretty good although they lacked a bit of acidity. I would like to try the coleslaw next time. The service was pretty fast. They have an assortment of sauces on the side that you can bring to your table, including ketchup, hot sauce, and cocktail sauce. They have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options as well. They have high top tables indoors, but nowhere to sit and eat. Faidley's is located in Lexington market so you have to rely on either street parking or their garage.

Who was the richest woman here for lunch? Crab cake was given to me within five minutes. Along with this food service was quick effortless. Lexington market is historically a very eventful place.

Why this place only has a 4 rating is a mystery. However, I admit I haven't tried but 1 thing from them. I come for and only order the crab cakes. I wish I had room in my tummy for the oysters on the half shell too but I don't. so I stick with my FAV-the crab cakes. If these aren't the best crab cakes in the USA, please tell me where this other place is so I can go there too. You order from the counter, pay, and get a ticket # for your food. Your crab cake come off the line directly to you. You eat standing up at one of their bars with condiment on the bar. It's been done that way for years, traditional now. Part of the Faidley's seafood experience. Aferall, you're in a food market. If eating in a market, standing up ain't your thing go eat 2nd rate crab cakes in a sit down restaurant elsewhere. I love the entire experience and the ambiance. There is paid tiered parking nearby. I live closer to DC than here. I stope here anytime I am in a 20 mile radius to B'more.

Faidley's is a good option for crab cakes on this side of town. Newly opened after a remodel last summer, the newly renovated space hosts a social and dining atmosphere with dedicated seating for Faidley's customers. You can find all of your fish, shellfish, and oysters and clams, and other seafood complements here. The crab cakes were good and certainly a great value compared to competitors in Baltimore, however I would not consider them the best. The customer service was good. The ordering process is also easy as the menu items are very easy to understand. Note: many of their seafood items, like crab cakes, will be sold at market price, so anticipate fluctuating prices through the season. You can also purchase ready-to-broil crab cakes and other seafood and sides that are sitting on ice. Overall, this is a very good experience and certainly one to try for seafood at Lexington Market.

Ask the Community - Faidley's Seafood

16 dollars for a small crab cake? Worth it?

I found cheaper crab cakes in Baltimore but they contain fillers, Faidley's crab cakes do not have any, the area and the market itself are very sketchy though

How does this place compare to Koco's for crab cake?

I believe that the Faidley version is more seasoned than the Koco version. The Koco version is just the crab meat. Both crab cakes contain no filler and if I only had one choice, I'd eat the Faidley version.

How many ounces is their jumbo lump crab cake?

    6.5 oz

Are they open on Memorial day?

    yes!

I had an American Pale Ale, the husband had a Kolsch. My beer was exceptional and delicious. My husband said the kolsch was OK. They also have a cute space with books and board games! As well as a cool merchandise wall with excellent cool t-shirts. I had to restrain myself. There is no kitchen or food served here. Order at the bar and sit where you want, there are plenty of tables and a lot of elbow space. The folks at the bar are Super Nice and you should tip them well. They told me there is usually a food truck that shows up at an undisclosed time in the evening. We did order some fantastic pretzels (w/ smoked gouda) and waited some more but ultimately had to go find a meal elsewhere. We will be back, perhaps in warmer weather to wait out the food truck and have more beer. Also, we were there for happy hour so our beers were $5! Thank you to all of the kind people at The Ministry of Brewing! We will be back.

It seems like they regularly have a lot of beers on tap anyway, but they do have several beer fests throughout the year (Hopfest is in August!) with over 60 offerings of a particular style of brew. And even if you want to come in and want a different style, they still have plenty of those to try as well. We got some food to go with all that beer - the Tater platter was solid bar food with tots, cheese, and bacon. Would get again. Likewise, they run a hot dog special when the Orioles are playing and you can get a hot dog for cheap. Ample seating at the bar and surrounding tables. Bathroom was clean. During our conversation, I mentioned that my wife absolutely loved a specialty burger from his previous restaurant. That restaurant closed several years ago, and the burger isn't on Nepenthe's menu. So that's exactly what I did for her birthday. When the burger arrived, my wife was genuinely surprised. Chef Andrew even added a candle to the plate to make the occasion extra special. The burger was everything she remembered. She often says she compares every burger she eats to that one, but had resigned herself to the idea that she'd never have it again. Bravo, Chef Andrew. What makes this story even more remarkable is that I had only met him once before. This wasn't something I asked him to do--he was the one who suggested it. That's the kind of hospitality is something I'll never forget. The food at Nepenthe is consistently good, and the atmosphere is fun, lively, and full of energy.
