The interior of the shop is cozy, and it's outfitted with various tables, couches, and armchairs. There's free wifi available, so it's a great place to get work done. I got the sabor de otono (cajeta latte) and southwest salad, and they both came out promptly! The latte was delicious -- it wasn't too sweet and the coffee flavor was strong and flavorful. Although I can't drink coffee a friend told me about this place around a year ago. I have tried the house salad, which is very good. I had a few sandwiches, turkey and a tuna. Another great coffee spot in downtown Phoenix! Definitely had some trouble finding parking nearby but eventually had success. There was a pretty big line when I got here, I was a little surprised to see how busy it was! The cafe is cute, I liked all the locks on one of the little columns. My friend and I needed a good place to study today and after doing some extensive research on coffee shops to go to, we landed on Fair Trade. We honestly thought we found our dream study place! That was until we left and as we were walking to our car, I told my friend, " Girl we STINK!". We thought it was just going to go away like an average coffee shop smell you usually get from being there for a period of time. However it wasn't a "coffee smell", it was like the most disgusting grease/lard mixed with coffee smell. So we get back home and immediately showered and washed our hair because of how BAD the smell was and was making us want to vomit. Everything was fine now until we start getting whiffs of the horrible smell again. Everything that we brought to the coffee shop SMELLS SO FOULLLLL and REEKS OF GREASE. This is really really unfortunate because we genuinely wanted to go back the next day and keep going to study. But the lingering smell is just so unbearable. My favorite drink here is the Guerita- the amaretto is a unique twist! The baristas are more than happy to give recommendations if you are unsure what to order. For food, I found the veggie panini and mini salad to be surprisingly delicious. The bread is so thick and appears to be locally made, and the salad is paired with a tasty, sweet dressing. This is definitely a popular spot- despite having a large number of tables, chairs, couches, etc. nearly every seat was full. Much of the time I refrain from coffee until I return home. I prefer to refrain than indulge in a toxic elixir. (May sound dramatic but it's true.) Even though it's too loud for me to personally want to sit down and work inside the shop due to it's busyness, I can see the appeal in wanting to go to this coffee shop and complete work there. I am giving it 3 stars because the food was mediocre for the price as well the matcha latte I received, it was $30 for a tiny croissant breakfast sandwich with a small side of potatoes.
