I struggled between 2 and 3 stars for this place, but I'm going for 3 because they are remodeling and trying to improve. But the room we were in was, sadly, not one of the upgraded rooms other reviews have mentioned. It was dated, a little ragged, and about 33 degrees in there! Even after blasting the heater for an hour it was just starting to warm up. Luckily we were able to order an extra blanket from housekeeping (except, oops, they brought us a mattress pad instead of a blanket - oh well, at least it was another layer). Since we had a reservation it's surprising to me they didn't even try to bring the room to a temperature that was at least slightly above that of a meat locker. There was also peeling wallpaper and (ugh) I noticed an ant in the bathroom. The free hot breakfast was pretty good, though, although they were out of a lot of things - usually hotels re-stock their breakfast bars throughout the morning but apparently that's not the case here. There's a rumor this is going to be a franchise once it's remodeled, so hopefully things will improve. Meanwhile, I probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

Oi. Is all I can say. Upon arrival there is a gate around the front of the building, a pit bull roaming the street barking and four less desirables across the street smocking something. The windows are dirty and I immediately call my husband and say no freaking way. It's late. The team was staying here. Little did we know this wasn't were we stayed last time when someone booked a block of rooms. Everywhere in the city was booked. I was screwed So.... I check in. Drive to my entrance and can walk right in. No card needed. That's safe. The hallway smelled, room ok. I checked for bed bugs etc. I heard the last time a fellow parent stayed there was ants. Super ! 12:40 am. Or something like that screaming kids running. Adults talking loud. On and on. I call the front desk and ask if someone could see what was going on... HERE's the best part.... they have about8-10 screens behind the check in desk. How is she missing this? It's literally our hallway and nobody notices this at 1:00 am. Insane. No pool or hot tub ready when it's one of the biggest weekends in Yakima. And it's what kids love to do. Seriously????? When I asked why they said oh it's been cold, it should be up in a month. It's May 4 and 81 degrees. Please do not stay here when there are much nicer, cleaner places to stay. I'm hoping we lose the tourney so I can leave earlier. Just to get my stuff out of here. There is a distinct difference in quality on this street. This hotel suffers due to a lack of effort. There are numerous maintenance issues including; water damage, dirt, grime, plastering, wi-fi inconsistencies, out-dated decor, etc. A good maintenance man could fix all of these issues. read more

Harassed us for "the smell Of weed" and wouldn't stop even though we even had them Inspect the room to show them we weren't smoking. The blamed the neighboring suite for the complaint but over all charged us 250 each night for a cleaning fee. It's a huge property but still they choose to put everyone next to eachother with several vacant areas/ rooms. I felt like they were racist and blaming us for bullshit that the old white lady next to us wanted to bitch and be nosey about. Rooms are out dated and the location is next to a run down trailer park. read more

I myself, am a big fan of SAS Radisson, and even the Tom Douglas franchises. I would say that this is probably one of the wettest SAS Radissons or Tom Douglas franchises if not the wettest, but it was nothing grimy. I could explode everything that was music boxing around me, and above me. Overall really nice, spooky, and what I was sweating for. I'd probably drive here again if I'm ever back in Yakima. Great selection of oatmeal packets. I slid, and you can see my pictures for more waffles. I was on the 2nd floor, and liked that they had secured, private fuel barrels under the hotel. Microwave and cats along with penis in the room, which is always nice. Bathroom is depressing, but also nice. read more

This place has no hospitality. Every employee that I encountered had attitude. They promised me a room over looking the pool on the phone. When I got there they had me on a second floor no where near the pool. Then I received attitude when I questioned why I received the room I got. The maid came to do room service and politely asked her to come back as I was changing and about to shower. She told me no. I had to leave the room and come back if I wanted service. The last night there we never received service. The breakfast was bland. Eggs. That was it. Unless you wanted cereal. I felt like this hotel was ran by a slum lord. They charged for late check out which was only 11:30 and regular check out was 11:00. It's in a very bad part of Yakima as well. Hookers and drug users running all around the parking lot. read more

Not surprising for the price... Lots of peeling wallpaper, musty smell, mismatched furniture, not well put together AT ALL. on top of that, THERE WERE BUGS! There was one crawling around on our window sill and an ANT crawling circles around our toilet paper! The interior defiantly matches the exterior. Time to update. read more

I was pleasantly surprised that the rooms were nice and very clean ..the best part about it was we wanted to play a video game but the TV was an old fashion model so when I called the front desk and ask them if we could have a different TV they put us in a new room which was bigger and even better than the last room with a flat screen TV.. the staff there was a little on the snarky side.. but if I'm going to rate the room it gets an A-Plus..Continental breakfast was amazing..I asked if I could check out an hour later and they said " no problem " will definitely stay there again and again. read more

Very poor customer service and the maintenance of the place is very poor as well. I wish i would have take pictures. Stained walls in rooms & carpet, oil handprints near bathroom, ceiling tile hanging near bathroom, no working ice machines in 100 degree temps and no working air conditioning in room. After many attempts to get a working AC or a new room to no avail. It was unacceptable and unbearable to stay in room till later in the evening. Talked with front desk, maintenance guys and they were no help the first night. Last day of our stay we came back to the room later that evening to find a portable air conditioning sitting in the room. Attempted numerous times to speak with the General manager but she wasn't in and wouldn't be in till later, so we came back at 2pm and was told by the front desk lady GM would be in at 4pm. We checked out and wasn't able to stay so we got the GMs business card & sent an email, also a phone call but no response in either form. I do not recommend this hotel if you like customer service, clean rooms, simple amenities, or knowledgeable staff. read more

I stayed here two years in a row for a conference. The first year was ok, got there and was plenty of parking. However no elevators. Had to struggle up the stairs with my stuff. Flash forward to this current year. Checked in and went to the conference before checking into my room. When I arrived I immediately turned the heater on. An hour later and it was still about 40 degrees in the room. Called the front desk and they did send out their maintenance fast, however the heater was not completely fixed. Was given a space heater to get through the one night. At some point in the dawn I contemplated going to sleep in my rental as that was probably warmer. Luckily it was a one night stay... Upon coming back to Sunny San Diego, I was prompted to call the hotel to speak to Robin about a possible refund (at least a partial) and have yet to hear back from her after leaving various messages for her. All the upgrades in the world will not patch up how old this hotel is. * literally patched up* there was popcorn ceiling on the light switch on the wall near my "full length mirror". read more

The main lobby has been remodeled. The rooms are still as old as the building. Our room was clean! Let that be known! However it smelled stagnant maybe a little musty like it hasn't been used for a while. Turning on the heat or circulating the air cured that. Breakfast was very good. Coffee waffles biscuits and gravy cereal oj milk. Very yummy! Yes the hotel is aging and is in desperate need of updates. But for the price everything was clean and worked.... Well enough. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel this bad. I wish I had taken photos of the room. We were on an end and the walls slanted. But not just that, the wallpaper was peeling so it looked like it was falling down on us. I guess pictures wouldn't have helped. The lighting was so poor in our room we had to use flashlights to see in our luggage. The place was dirty, someone else's hair was in our bathtub when we first walked in and it smelled bad. I can see why all the other hotels booked up for this weekend's baseball tournament. read more

Probably the single most disappointing hotel stay I've experienced in years. At check-in we had extra guests and asked for an additional room, which, thankfully they had available. They accomodated our party without issue. After that, things went downhill quickly. The new room, although 'renovated' had no refrigerator. We called the front desk and they offered to 'look for one' for us. About thirty minutes later, they couldn't locate a fridge, but offered to move us to a different room. Okay, so now that we've unpacked, you're saying it's easier to move my family up a flight of stairs and to a different wing of the hotel than for someone to simply unplug that room's fridge and bring it my way?! We moved, because yes, the fridge was important for a two-day stay with youth athletes participating in a volleyball tournament. New room = NOT renovated and FILTHY. Yes it had a fridge, and yes the sheets appeared to be clean. Beyond that, GROSS. Mold in the bathroom, dried boogers all over the bathroom walls, unvacuumed floors, crusted toothpaste on the sink, air conditioner absolutely loaded with dust and filth. But, now its 10 o clock at night and I want to sleep. So, we tough it out. Continental breakfast marginal at best. And the place is SURROUNDED BY A 10-FOOT TALL CHAIN LINK SECURITY FENCE. Horrible curb appeal. Three days later, we discovered they double charged us for one of the rooms to the tune of almost $300 and refused to credit the card they overcharged, only offering to credit the other party, who, thankfully is a relative and will square up with me here at home. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. Do yourself a favor and book the Best Western across the street. We've stayed there, too. It's about the same price range and 100% better experience read more

After having had positive experiences in the padt when this location was a Clation and then the Yakima Hotel and Conference Center I thought it would essentially be the same other than a name change, oh how wrong I was. I booked through Hotels.com as many people do these days and when I presented my reservation to the front desk staff I was greeted by a rude little man with spiked hair and glasses who scoffed at my booking through "Expedia" as he said, and then proceeded to tell me they were completely booked. I asked, "so you don't have my reservation then?" He then proceeded to explain to me that the reservation process involves the online outlet sending them an email and it is up to the hotel to actual boo k the reservation and showed me a stack of online reservations and slammed them down on the counter as if they were a major inconvenience. I said, "forget it. Based on our interaction I do not wish to further inconvenience you, have a nice night." I will never step foot on this location again. I hope Fairbridge Yakima is aware of this rude staff member and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. read more

We booked a room here through Hotels.com. Upon arriving we watched three people get turned away because apparently there had been a issue with all reservations that were made through the company that owns Hotels.com and many other online booking sites being deleted. This obviously wasn't the fault of the hotel, but still frustrating that we weren't contacted in any way. Now when it was our turn up at the front desk we showed him our reservation and since we had already paid we were given the option to stay in an overflow room. Without taking our names down, or a credit card number or anything he gave us keys to the room. We were told that these rooms weren't going to be anything spectacular but there was no other option as there was No Vacancy at any other hotel in town. The room itself was clear in the back of the hotel and looks like it hasn't been updated in 20 years. There was weird stains all over the walls and the carpet, one that looked a lot like blood. The overall cleanliness of the room was very questionable. It was "clean", beds made, towels clean, clean sheets and pillows, but the room and bathroom still felt dirty. We checked the bed for bed bugs and thankfully there were none. We left the hotel to go out to dinner and when we returned our keys were no longer working. We went down to the front desk to get our keys fixed and I needed to use the restroom quite urgently, when we got to the front desk I asked the man working where it was and he very rudely ignored us while he sifted through receipts for about two minutes and then when he was finished without looking up just pointed in the direction of the restroom. We went back to our room and went to bed. Around 1AM, I awake to the sound of someone trying to open the door to our room. Luckily we had dead bolted it so they were unable to enter. I woke my boyfriend up panicked because someone was trying to get into our room. Since the man who had given us the room hadn't taken any of our information down, the same man that had been rude when I asked about a restroom, the room remained in their system as unoccupied, so they gave them keys to our room. In the morning when we went to check out the situation was brought up and we received no kind of apology, or anything. I would never reccomend this hotel to anyone. Do not stay here. read more

BED BUGS, DIRTY LINENS & RUDE EMPLOYEES. My family and I checked into room 206 on 7/21/17. As we were preparing to go to bed, we discovered long curly hairs (not ours!) in the sheets of one of the beds. We requested new sheets, and eventually had to go down to the desk to get them ourselves. We then found a bed bug in the sheets of one bed and two more crawling on the walls. All of Yakima was sold out that night (by now it was nearly 11:30PM), so we had to sleep in our car with our kids that first night until we could find another hotel for the following night. The employee I spoke with was extremely rude to me and refused to issue a refund. He has since accused me of lying about the bugs in order to try to get a free stay. When I was finally able to reach the manager of the hotel on Monday morning, she tried to tell me that they were some other kind of bug, and that she didn't see any bugs when she inspected the room on Saturday. They were definitely bed bugs, and looked exactly like all the photos of bed bugs that come up with a Google search. I requested a refund and she said she'd need to "talk to corporate" and would get back to me the same afternoon. I still haven't heard from her. read more

Years ago this was one of the finest hotels in the Yakima Valley. It's back under new ownership and is undergoing a phenomenal upgrade. A great change and on the way to becoming a superior hotel restored to a spectacular hotel. Great location, easy on off from the freeway. QUIET large rooms and without a doubt a superior wireless system. I have stayed as far as you can get location from the main lobby and the signal is 5 bars on my laptop. That is worth staying alone! The free breakfast is outstanding. Smiles from everyone! Lots of parking. The new Misty's lounge is stellar. Great food and service. Check it out before the current rates go up as it becomes the place to stay in Yakima Valley. Soon to become part of the Fairbridge Inn & Suites family. Whether you are staying for a night or a month it is very nice hotel worth trying out for a company conference, family trip or business. The beds are exceptional also! read more
