Wife and I are heading to Hilton Head it's 0200 in the morning and we needed some sleep so we found this Fair Field and booked it, we only need it for 5-6 hrs we are going to get back on the road. Marriott needs a special rate for quick stays like this they will be able to resell this room once we leave. I would not recommend staying here or supporting this place of business. I had a terrible experience with this specific hotel that dragged on for 13.5 weeks. I booked my hotel using travel miles through my credit card. When I checked in on Dec 5th, I noticed the fan/heater unit was rattling loudly in my room. I tried turning it off/up/down, but nothing would make it stop. I called the front desk and the clerk, Cam, nicely came up and took off the front of the unit to try and fix the rattling noise. It stopped for a bit, but started again once he left. He said maintenance was not available until the next day. I asked if I could be moved to a different room and he said there weren't any rooms because they were full. Unfortunately, he couldn't even move me for one night. I finally asked him what I could do if I couldn't sleep in that room and he said I could check out and go to a different hotel. He said I would need to work with my credit card to get a refund since it was a 3rd party and they would get it approved with the hotel manager. I would not have checked out if I knew what drama awaited me. For 13 weeks the hotel manager, Miranda Knight, has dodged all emails and calls regarding the refund. The credit card company has tried, I have tried, the Marriott has tried. I called Hopper, as well as found the property management group, New Bridge Hotel Group, and spoke with Ketan Patel, who assured me it would be taken care of and Miranda would call me until he stopped taking calls as well. I filed a report with the BBB and considered small claims court just because of the injustice of it all. 54,645 miles, which equals $546, is a lot to us. I would guess it is not a lot to a large company such as this. I would say the most shocking thing about this experience is when Miranda lied to the Marriott when they opened an inquiry. She said that I had been "moved several times and was looking for a complaint". I'm confident I would have preferred to stay there instead of having to go to another hotel and pay an additional $700. I will NEVER stay here again and I'm so disappointed in how I was treated as a customer from upper management. Apparently, Cam shouldn't have told me I could get a refund even though I checked several times, but this shows me that this hotel does not care to support their staff or their customers and definitely did not make it right. read more

BEWARE Four of us family members traveled to Rocky Mount, NC in December for a double funeral for my mom and stepdad. I made reservations for two nights at the Fairfield Marriott beforehand and was quoted a good price. I was given a confirmation number, but, NEVER received an email confirming the reservation. When we arrived that night we were informed they had no reservation for us until the next night. She could find us a room but it would cost $100 more than the price I was quoted for that night at the time the reservation was made. We were exhausted from our long drive and the funeral was in the morning so we felt we had no choice but to pay the extra. The woman at the reception desk assured us she understood our complaints and was making notes that would be passed on to the mgr. She told us, "Only the mgr would have the authority to go into computer and make this right for you." Each time we asked before we checked out, the mgr was "not on site". The front desk gal made additional notes and we were told the mgr would see them and be calling in the next two days. So, we headed home and naively expected a phone call. That was over two months ago. Since our stay there, I have CALLED the hotel and corporate customer service multiple times. I have EMAILED the hotel and corporate and have not received a response. I even sent them screenshots from their OWN hotel website reflecting the original prices we were quoted on those very nights. I asked for the mgr's direct email address but the request was denied. I finally FAXED all of this info to the corporate office and still . . . Crickets. Absolutely no response to my many attempts. Yes, I've spent way too much time on this endeavor, but, my husband is a disabled vet and we live on his disability and our social security. As a result, the $200 (minimum) we were overcharged is a lot of money. Please INSIST on an email confirmation before you head to a Marriott hotel. read more

The room itself was clean enough. Beds were extremely uncomfortable with only 3 flat pillows on a double bed. AC was really loud, sounded like there was a car engine running inside the room all night. The main reason we stayed here was for the heated indoor pool. The pool however was freezing cold, pretty murky and had at least 3 ants floating in it. So who knows when it was last cleaned or heated. Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

I stayed here for my sons baseball tournament a 3 day weekend. Our room was never attended to, we never got clean towels, our coffee and cups weren't restocked. That bathroom door in our room didn't close, they did not replace our toilet paper. I assumed this would be a nice hotel but I was dead wrong. They completely just disregard your room while staying there and you have to go down to the front desk and ask for replacements. I had asked for clean towels and they told me I needed to walk my dirty towels down to the front desk to replace them which was absolutely ridiculous. If I wanted that much maintenance I would have stayed in an Airbnb. This place was too expensive to have to do everything myself. 5 star price with 1 star service. I will not be staying at another fairfeild again. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights in October, Thursday to Monday. Everything was clean and all the staff were friendly. However, the beds were super tough and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very flat. The TV set up was also impossible to deal with! We brought a Roku and hooked it up to the HDMI port. But through MUCH trial and literally shoving my body in between the wall and the TV mount, we could see the cable box and other cords were not hooked up properly. Luckily we were two people in our 20s able to figure all of that out, but there's no way any older guests could climb on the desk to rework all of that. Finally, I have to mention that the hotel absolutely duped the Bride and Groom who had booked a room block, which is what we rented. The "discounted rate" they gave for a room block was actually more than what we would pay to stay in the same type of room and on the same dates. And once we realized this and thought maybe we'd change rooms to pay the less expensive price, we would have to pay a heft cancellation policy for changing the original reservation. If you stay here, it would be good for 1 night passing through, but if it's any longer than that, I would look elsewhere. read more

We've stayed at this location numerous times. We are Marriott titanium members so we stay at a lot of Marriott properties. This particular property could really use updated beds. While the bed is ok for one person it's incredibly squishy & makes it almost impossible for 2 people to comfortably sleep. While on our latest visit our truck was broken into & someone tried to steal it. While there are security cameras on the building there are not cameras monitoring the parking lot. We've actually had a truck stolen from another Marriott in Ft Myers so we should have known to park against the building where the truck would be in view of cameras. This is a well maintained property & could easily be 4 or 5 stars with a few updates like new mattresses & security cameras & better lighting in the parking lot. The staff is incredibly friendly (especially the lovely woman at breakfast in the mornings). read more

In a word, this place needs maintenance. From the exterior it appears to be newish, but inside is another story. The check in staff was friendly and pleasant enough but it was a busy weekend and only 1 elevator worked. The hallways were stuffy and hot. There was condensation dripping from overhead all through the breakfast area. The main floor ladies room had zero toilet tissue and no replacements. Our room was like a dimly lit cave. The overhead light at the doorway was missing 2 bulbs, one of the bedside lights was out, and a light on the wall was out. Asked front desk for replacements and was told they had no access to the storage area?! 5 floors and only 2 working ice machines. The bed was like a marshmallow. Towels were so worn and thin. We were also greeted by a towel from a previous guest. Ugh! Marriott should be ashamed to put their name on this one. Husband is a Lifetime Titanium Elite member due to his stays with Marriott. read more

Pros: The rooms are clean and updated. The staff was nice and professional. Cons: ran out of coffee and only had decaf. The food was gross - these soggy breakfast sandwiches steamed in plastic. The coffee it did have on the second morning tasted like gas station coffee -toxic, as if cleaning chemicals were mixed in. (Hopefully not -maybe just a terrible brand) Also though the rooms were clean, the walls were sterile white with no decor. Summary: I bet you can get the same or better at a budget inn. I know the area is run down but not sure how this can pass Marriott standards. read more

My family and I were driving home from our summer vacation in the Northeast. Tropical Storm Elsa was on its way up the coast. I called the hotel and told them we would be arriving early since we didn't want to drive in poor weather. The gentlemen said no problem, your room is ready (this was at 11 am.) I loved everything about this hotel. It is brand new and CLEAN. The staff, especially Malek, were so gracious and accommodating. Every staff member we came in contact with was so polite, helpful, and courteous. My family and I stayed in a queen bed suite. It is worth the extra money. There is an extra area with a couch, table, desk and another tv. If you are reluctant to stay at a hotel that is not directly off 95, the two minutes of extra driving is worth it. My family and I will definitely stay at this hotel again! read more

Stayed on our return trip from visiting family for the holidays Room thermostat was set and stuck at 80° management tried to fix it a couple times and couldn't told us they would give us another room when we went to see what other room was available they told us no other rooms were available and had to stay where we were or leave. It was late we were tired we're going to be leaving in the morning. so we shut off the system opened the windows and hoped that would reduceThe temperature. End result Stuck in a room overnight where it wouldn't go below 80° , a manager who didnt wear a mask for different times we saw him even when when the posting on the doors entering the hotel indicated mask to be worn while in the hotel and food service out and shut off before everyone's had a chance to get breakfast is inexcusable. I would expect better from a Marriott operation. read more

Your management team should probably question the staff and front desk associates training knowledge in order to deliver proper customer service to their guests. Stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Rocky Mount, NC. During my entire stay of 8 days, no one ever serviced the room. On 3 occasions, I went to the front desk to request service and in each case they took my room number and name and said it would be passed along to housekeeping and manager. They also entered the information in the computer. Since the room was never serviced, I had to go to the front desk 3 times to get toilet paper , trash bags to empty my own trash and bag up my own towels, get soap, and fresh towels. I even asked to speak to the manager and I was told that she was not available and it would not be available "for a while" but was on site. I left my name and phone number and asked that the Manager call to discuss my concerns, but I never got the courtesy of a call. I was scheduled to stay another day, but decided to checkout and stay at another hotel. I have been a long term Marriott member and loyalist. This year alone I have spent 71 night in Marriott hotels and over 100 nights in all hotels. I certainly understand that the new norm after COVID is the at room will not be serviced daily, In the end, this has left a bad taste about my Marriott experience, front desk experience and lost hope that the level of concern by management is lacking - at least at this location. The company I work for is opening a new office in Rocky Mount and I had recommended this hotel for the 15 long term employees that would be staying in the area, but after my experience I can no longer recommend. While I was hoping to resolve this issue locally, it appears it fell on deaf ears. Hopefully Marriott can correct this issue at this location and I hope that Marriott can find a way to compensate me for the aggravating experience. I look forward to receiving a meaningful response. This is a new property but if management has no regard for it guests, this will be run into the ground very quickly read more

Brand spanking new Fairfield Inn. Fully modernized, clean, well designed and nearly empty! COVID-19 had done a real job on the hotel industry and Marriott is getting slammed hard. There could not have been more than a dozen people staying here. They staff is fantastic, friendly, helpful and courteous. When we arrived they looked like they have not see a guest in ages. The hotel has all the updates of a latest Fairfield Inn design. Our room was spectacular. The wall mounted TV had to be a 55 inch. Rooms were clean, well designed, comfortable and quiet. COVID -19 has wrecked breakfast service so you get a banana in a bag,a water and a muffin. They did have coffee though. There has to be a better way but I do understand the need. I've been a lifetime member of the Marriott family. I left the road warrior life years ago. But they gave me lifetime status, Hilton did nothing so I'm a Marriott lifer! read more

There's a difference between implementing Covid safety protocols and just flat out cheap, bad hospitality. This hotel says they offer breakfast but then they give you a grab bag with cold muffin and granola bar. No butter or jelly available, no juice, not even water. When I asked for water for my baby's formal they sold me an Aquafina for $3. I understand stopping indoor dining for safety purposes but the Hotel could certainly offer a grab and go buffet where people can make their own waffles for to-go only. How about turning on the juice machine an offering some takeout cups. Also having some basic condiments would be appropriate. The coffee was also bitter and luke warm. If the only thing you're going to offer his coffee, then you might as well put some effort and try to at least offer something at tastes adequate. The room was clean and the furniture was modern; my only notes is that the marketing images do not appropriately represent the feeling of the room. They are much smaller and very dark. read more
