Hotel is in a great location right near the parkway and there are plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Plenty of parking and the area looks safe. I checked in and was treated very nicely by the staff and the room was ready very quickly. The room looked good, but discovered an ant on the desk as soon as I sat down. Then I discovered the microwave didn't work. Ok, no big deal. The last straw for me however was when I went to take a shower - there were a ton of ants in the bathroom. I called down and asked them to switch rooms, they apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a new room. Second room was nice, with no ants. Bed was comfortable. Not the best experience but I appreciate the fact they tried to make up for it. I'm a Marriot Bonvoy member so in compensation they gave me a bunch of bonus points. read more

The rooms along Rt 100 is noisy especially when a big truck goes by, so try to get a room away from Rt 100. I would have to agree with other reviewers that the hotel is a bit dated. I was told this by the front desk staff and marketing manager just prior to checking in during the early afternoon. Since I was here for an overnight, my expectations were minimal: comfortable bed, gym area, sufficient breakfast, pool area, adequate parking, good WiFi, and an elevator for my bags. My expectations were met on all of the above, and I was able to get a good night's sleep without any surprises both outside and inside of the room. In comparison to other Fairfield Inns, yes, this property is a bit older. The staff mentioned that they are in the process of renovating the property towards the end of either the summer or fall. The hotel is located within a business office park and next to the main road, so I thought that the location was in a good area with good access to make it to the highway. Altogether, I consider this one of the more average Fairfields that I've stayed at, yet its okay. Can't wait to see the renovations in 2016. read more

Where do I begin Our first night we go to the pool. The cover over the filter was broken and when my child stepped on it their foot went into the filter scraping their leg. Then when we leave to go to the room we we are locked out for over an hour. They finally got us in ( really nice gentlemen who finally was able to open the lock). Next day sitting in the room and another employee opens the door to let other guests in. Lady at the front desk accidentally wrote our room number on the others key card. I partial to Marriott properties and they should love me because I've been platinum for quite some years (I'm loyal). I've stayed here even though there is a Hilton up the street that is very nice, because I am that loyal. I've stayed here and left thinking I wouldn't come back. But I'm in Exton regularly and when I travel I prefer Marriott. This time checking in was a different experience and the renovations were obvious! It was a 2 star a couple of years ago, but they e really spruced this place up and the rooms are in great shape!! This hotel is a real value for the nightly rate. Nothing special. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk and I stood there for a good 10 minutes looking for a bell or something. One of the guests came down and he stood there for 2 of my 10 minutes and finally a lady came from the back . I told her I wanted to check in and she calls another lady from the back to help the other guy. As I was walking away I heard them apologize to the other guy... Really? I can think of a lot of reasons to not like this place, but the truth is the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay, and a nice stay was had (6 nights). Holly deserves a standing ovation....if I owned in business in this area I'd hire her and put her into some sort of a customer facing role and sit back while she made me a lot of money. The Bad: the place is under renovations, significant renovations. Try to get your room on the front as all the construction materials and machines with backup alarms are operating in the back of the hotel. The Good: the rooms that have been renovated are excellent. My room was brand new wall-to-wall, a very nice renovation. One small issue with the renovation, I'm positive the contractor tried to pad his wallet by putting in the cheapest toilet seats ever known to man, just the flimsiest little plastic toilet seats I have ever seen -- almost like it was intended to be disposable!! I alerted management, this is a serious issue.....and the flimsy toilet seats do not fit with the rest of the decor. More Good: I can't remember her name but if forced to guess I'd say the breakfast lady has a Russian accent, that lady hustles.....breakfast was very good. Let's call her Nadia...thanks Nadia. Bottom Line: I'd stay there again in spite of the construction because the price was right, the room was spotless, and Holly and Nadia and the others made it a welcoming place to be -- well done folks. read more

It is locations like his one that make me want to avoid all Fairfield Inn locations. I just (in the last 10 minutes) had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom. Let me be specific: - the lobby floors are not clean - the hallways are dark and dingy feeling - room smells questionable - the fitness center only has treadmills - did I mention the roach I just smushed in the bathroom? Marriott finally got me! I was spoiled by a new(er) Fairfield Inn, in Berwyn, PA that I've stayed a few times and left with the impression that that was the new look of all of their Fairfield Inns....WRONG! OMG this one here also sort of fools you from the lobby but when you walk into the hotel room....JOKE'S OVER! My boyfriend immediately hollered OMG IS THIS A MOTEL!?!?! (My hotel snob ways have clearly rubbed off on him). But all jokes aside the hotel room screamed seedy motel and I wasn't happy. There was also a lingering rotten odor that didn't disappear and made the stay that much more miserable. OH and the best part was the front desk receptionist who never looked me up in the system upon check-in and it wasn't until I came back downstairs to ask if she had given me my free gift of 500 Points as a Marriott Elite Platinum member that she finally looked in the system and provided me the points and my two free waters upon check-in. I don't want to say that the reason she didn't do so initially could've been because we don't look like your "typical" elite members, but HEY, anything is possible. DO BETTER! read more

I stayed in this hotel for a total of two nights during April of 2015. When we arrived (and also when we checked out), no one could be found at the front desk. Even though we needed to wait for staff to arrive, the employees were very polite and welcoming. My family frequently uses the Marriott brand hotels, but I have to say that this one left us a little disappointed. The rooms were a little on the small side, as was the lobby area where the breakfasts were served. I think that, in total, there were maybe 7-8 tables, which was not enough room when you came down to eat. Myself, my mom and my four-year old ended up getting food and then having to sit on one of the couches in the lobby to eat because no tables were available after a 10-minute wait. Contrary to previous reviews, we did not encounter any bugs in the hotel room/bathroom. My biggest recommendation to the hotel would be to add more lighting to the hallways. We practically sprinted through them because we couldn't see very well with the terrible lighting. You couldn't see who was approaching you until you came right up upon someone. Murder central... On a positive note, my daughter enjoyed the pool area, but that had a downside, too. The other guests were not watching their children. At one point, another child got out of the pool and proceded to pee all over the floor, right in front of the stairs leading into the pool. Sadly, the mother saw it happen and did nothing. We had my daughter come to another area of the pool and just picked her out so that she didn't have to walk on someone else's pee stain. Maybe the mother of that child reported it to the hotel, but I highly doubt it, as they let their child continue to swim even after we had fished my kid out of the pool. The pictures of the hotel online are definitely more bright and colorful than the hotel actually is in real life. It was definitely not the quality that I expected of the Marriott brand. read more

Chose this hotel for the fact that they advertise having 3 electric car chargers. When we got to the hotel, only one charger was working and already occupied. The other charger was completely gone and there was definitely not a space for a third. The room smelled musty when entering and the rug was somewhat damp, although did get better once we put the a/c on and switched the function to "dry". Could not get another room because of a large group of youth soccer players and family staying the hotel. A few of the linens were dingy. Will definitely be staying somewhere else the next time we're in the area - car charger or not. read more

I was traveling for business and unexpectedly had to book a room here at the last minute due to a snow storm. The staff was incredibly nice and got me in a room right away even though it was only 2pm. Then they gave me one of their personal jackets and a canvas bag to walk to pick up food and drinks for myself from a local restaurant. So friendly! Where do I BEGIN! The lobby is ok. The supervisor was not friendly she had a attitude and acted as she didn't want to do her job or care to be there. I ask to see the room before I would check in to make sure I like the room because of the reviews on here. The elevator seem old and a bit broken down . The hallway smell of funk and weed the first room seem ok but it was hair on the chair and the room had a moldy smell when I look at the ac mold build up in the vents !!! I told the supervisor about the mold she could care less and gave me another to see . THE SAME THING !!! MOLD ALL IN THE AC. THIS HOTEL IS A HEALTH RISK!! I told her about she told me well that your opinion mind you I show her the pictures I took of the mold. She was very rude and nasty. I let her know I will not be staying in a hotel where I suck up mold all day n and night this is a health risk ! She would not let me check out and told me I would be charged for the night! We Arrived at 9pm Monday night Memorial Day. Check in rendered an unkempt front desk agent with an untucked shirt hanging out. We proceeded to our room... The room was old and dated except for the LG TV. Of the 2 queen sized beds, one was broken and leaning to one end. I would give the room a total of 2 stars for cleanliness an appearance. My companion and I are on a cross country trip on business and are Marriott preferred members. We've stayed at Fairfield and Courtyard throughout our 1800 mile journey and had nothing but excellent service and accommodations. However this one totally threw us off guard! Having brought in a fair amount of luggage, we were in need of an additional luggage rack for our room. When returning to the FD. I asked W if he'd be so kind as to provide our room with an extra luggage rack we had one in the room. As I am asking, I'm holding the luggage caddy we used to bring our luggage up to the room. W, the front desk clerk responds with "I'm holding it" ie luggage rack. I told him that this was a luggage caddy, not a rack. I needed a rack. He said " I don't know what you mean " I said " you don't know what a luggage rack is"? He said "no". I thought he was joking. I said "should I draw one for you "? This was after describing what they look like only to receive a glazed stare. So I did. He said "I dont know what that is". Really? Hmmm. So I pulled out my iPhone and pulled up an image of "luggage rack". W. responds with..."oh, we don't have those here ". I responded "you haven't any in the whole hotel"? He said "that's right, we don't carry those here ". I got the sense that he was "playing me ". I finished the conversation with "that's funny, we have one in our room. This man is clearly not cut out for front desk Marriott. And for that matter, any customer service position. While in the lobby area before returning up to our room, I stopped at the coffee station and overhead him on the front desk phone speaking to someone who needed to borrow his car or something like that...meanwhile 2 seperate couples had entered and were standing at the front desk. They waited until he hung up which was roughly 3-5 minutes. One of the guests checking in asked "how are you this evening "? His response .,"yours is a lot better then mine ". My recommendations are to steer clear of this place. It's dirty. The rooms had soiled chairs. Customer service was not only non existent, but downright ignorant. This is an okay hotel. It is very dated. The staff is extremely polite. But the rooms themselves are a little dirty and old. I kept finding dead bugs on the floor and on my bed. Bare bones room. Wifi kicked us off constantly and this caused all the data to be used up in one of our cellular plans. Walls are paper thin and we could hear normal volume conversations clearly in the next room through the walls. We nicely asked twice for an additional hour for late check-out and were flatly denied as the hotel was fully booked. Funny that there were only a few cars in the parking lot overnight. Only one previous hotel for a lacrosse tournament was worse. Good things were that the room seemed clean, extra towels were brought up promptly, and maid service came early. Refusing to grant us just one hour for late check out seemed so incredibly petty that I decided to write this review. A little bit of kindness would have gone a long way, but now we will never come back. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced while checking in. My husband went into check in but The "front desk manager" was super rude and not welcoming! She had an attitude like it was an inconvenience for my husband to check in. Went to go bring our items to the room. The keycard didn't work what so ever so went down and told her it didn't work. She got annoyed that we were bothering her again. Went up with a technician and come to find out She gave us the wrong room key and the room was occupied. We asked the technician if the there was a manager on site and he has said no they manager left for the day and there won't be one until 11 pm. Went down again while she standing with another customer. We waited and started mumbling something and saying here is the card all rude not wanting to talk to us. I had asked her who the manager was coming and she said "I'm the front desk manager" if you were you wouldn't have acted all nasty towards us. She then threatened to call the non emergency phone to the police because we asked a few questions. read more

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, I would recommend here. Staff is very friendly. The room was wicked clean. They do have a pool, but it was a little on the smaller side. One thing I do have to say, is probably the best complimentary breakfast I have had. While I was having breakfast, I saw the staff checking to make sure everything was stocked and looked good. I recently stayed here on business and is one of a few options with our company. I have stayed here before on business trips. This most recent trip resulting in money taken out of my room. I considerable sum. Yes I should have put it in a safe deposit box after finding out the service was available. It was secured in my suitcase. I travel often both for business and leisure. I will not stay here again and I am considering not staying at another Fairfield or even Marriott hotel in the future. It's disappointing since I do use Marriott hotels often. Reason being is the inadequate investigation that took place once it was discovered that my money was lost. Apart from this incident I will comment on the hotel in general. It does need upgrades and for somone who is an Elite member with Marriott, you would expect one of the better rooms in the hotel. My most recent stay was in the first room on the first floor. I tried to move but they were booked. This was on a Monday evening check in around 10 p.m. Also the internet connectivity is extremely poor. I have had to work from the hotel in visits in the past due to poor weather conditions and each time I had limited connection or slow service. For the most part the staff is nice and helpful, especially when they take money out of your suitcase. Since I do have other options with my business but are more expensive options, I will choose those other options and will definitely not stay at this Farifield in the future. Avoid and look for other options. Holiday Inn Express down the road is comparable in price and much nicer option. read more

Our stay was miserable from the second we arrived. First we were unsatisfied by the misleading photos on the website, once you arrive you are surprised at how different the hotel appears. The one elevator was small and couldn't fit more than 4 people. The room had poor air circulation and we complained that the thermostat wasn't working and someone came to check it and said not use it????? Then at the same time we complained about the bathroom sink that was clogged and the maintenance man said he cleared it, meanwhile the sink started leaking from the bottom....very ridiculous. The room had very old wallpaper that was pealing off. After bringing some of these issues up to the manager and he said he would look into it as if it was a very regular matter with no concern. I am very disappointed by this hotel and believe it gives "Marriott" a bad name. read more

As an Elite Marriott rewards customer, I always choose a Marriott property when traveling. I am almost always very happy with the accommodations. I say almost because I cannot give the Fairfield Inn and Suites Exton any more than 1 star. On our way to the hotel we tried calling ahead to let them know we would be a late arrival. The phone system was down so we could not reach the hotel on any of their local numbers published on their website. Upon arrival at midnight, we were provided the wrong room number so we woke guests sleeping in their rooms by trying our card keys several times. After a trip back to the lobby in the slowest elevator on the planet we were told "oops I gave you the wrong room number". Once inside our room we were assaulted by the musty smell and blasting AC system. The next morning we were greeted by mold in our shower. We have had to make numerous trips back down to the lobby as every time we arrive back to the property our room keys don't work. The food served for breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason I gave 1 star is that the hotel "graciously" comp'd us the first night. I hear plans are in place to renovate this property. I would wait until that is complete before considering a stay here. read more
