We still joke about the "Mini Cine" now that we're grown up and scattered across the country. It doesn't really compete with the bigger cinemas like Showcase or AMC. But that's not its intended market. Its niche is that it shows slightly older movies (movies released weeks ago) for a discounted price. Cine 1-2-3-4 is the area's only remaining "bargain" theater. Well, I haven't visited this place for years, up until two weeks ago. Boy was I disappointed. I might have been able to overlook the dimly lit and unkept parking lot and the uncomfortable seats if only the price of my ticket was much less. My price was $9 . I was surprised. And it's Cash Only. That's only $1 less than the bigger cinemas. Big woop-de-do. In my opinion, it's not worth the extra risk of having your car stolen (the cinema is right next to the "projects"). So the extra nicities of the other large cinemas are probably worth an extra dollar. They have better seating, better projectors, better parking, etc.. Typically I go to the Regal Cinemas in Branford, but this one time I wanted to watch a particular movie that was released months ago and only Cine 1-2-3-4 was playing it. That's really the only reason I will go to this cinema from now on. Its discounted price isn't really an attraction for me.

That is, there aren't little punks everywhere being disrespectful and distracting during a movie. With that being said, remember that you are not going to get the best sound or seating or picture that you would at a newer facility. Seating is limited in that the best seats in the center of the theater are given up for an aisle. It is good for catching some movies which may be on their way out of other theaters; giving you a bit more time to see them if you needed it. Remember that this is a cash only establishment!

The seats were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the staff had a positive friendly attitude and the snack bar was well stocked. The only negative feature were that the escalators weren't working and a number of people had difficulty navigating the quantity of steps to get to the theater. Elvis, the movie was stupendous. The photography was breathtaking, the music was amazing, the acting was awe-inspiring, the story was spectacular and overall Elvis the movie was very impressive. The cast is to be commended as it was evident that a huge amount of effort went into transporting you back in time. It would be most appreciated if the theater would make an effort to bring back more movies like this one. Out of 14 theaters, at least one could be for people who enjoy a story that doesn't include violence, profanity, deafening sound effects or a bizarre story line.

I've seen movies in the regular theaters as well as the Dolby. The seats in the regular theaters are fine, I've definitely sat in worse. The Dolby is really where it's at. It's hard to go from the Dolby experience and then back to regular chairs and screen. But, the place is pretty clean and the staff are nice.

It's not a busy movie theater and I appreciate that. Some chairs do look a little worn but that is to be expected. They all work. Employees greet you and provide the services necessary. No complaints there. It's a decent and clean enough place to watch a movie.
