    Hot Cocoa Bomb
    Izzy H.

Fairy Cakes is a Parkside staple and their sweet treats never fail to brighten up even the dreariest of days. I finally got my hands on their Christmas Sampler Box and their Hot Cocoa Bombs, and oh baby! I may need to buy a size up in pants after this one. The sampler box was decedent and so sweetly decorated. It included macaroons, ornament cake pops (my fave!), cakesicles, dipped Oreos, classic cut outs, and dipped pieces of cake. My friends and I cut up most of the pieces so we could all try a little bit of everything. Everything was delicious and so beautifully decorated. I'm tempted to get another box before Christmas! The hot cocoa bombs are my latest winter obsession and their Grinch themed bomb made my heart grow three sizes The hot cocoa mix was wonderfully rich and the addition of melted chocolate made it a perfect cup of cocoa. Their online ordering system is convenient and accessible. Covid has taken its toll on small businesses, but Fairy Cakes has done a great job keeping positive and continuing to turn out delicious desserts.

After a visit to the Buffalo zoo we went right across the street from the entrance to this wonderful cupcake shop. So many delicious treats! We decided on splitting a chocolate snickers cupcake and a almond blueberry cupcake. Now I am normally a chocoholic but I have to say the almond and blueberry was phenomenal! Not to say, the chocolate wasn't great but the blueberry was very flavorful and I highly recommend this establishment

I stopped in to check out cupcakes for a birthday party next week. When you first walk in you'll be hit with the sweet smell of cupcakes in the air - yum! I didn't stay to eat but the place looks so whimsical I'd love to take my kiddo here for some mommy and me time. Unfortunately, the store is not open on the day I need the cupcakes - I forgot to look at the hours, dang! There was not a large selection today but I was not going to leave without trying something so I got (what I thought) was the only red velvet cupcake left. Turns out they frost them fresh which is a plus. I'm not a fan of frosting but the cheesecake they use on for the red velvet is delicious so I didn't get rid of all of it from the cupcake. The cupcake was not bad but I can't say I was blown away so I can't wait to give it another try the next time I visit!

I wanted to love this place. Nearby my house, carrying my favorite treat, what more could I ask for? Well, freshness and flavor for starters. I do admit to going there in the afternoon, never in the am, when perhaps they are fresher. But its cupcakes, for me an afternoon/evening treat. Perhaps they are sitting out so long they seem a little stale by the time I get them. Then, I have tried a few flavors, but none "hit the spot". Flavors don't seem to be rich enough, yet the frosting/icing is very sweet. Somehow so far none has been more than a 6 on a scale of 1-10. My cupcake companions have agreed with me, not the best cupcakes they have had. At $2.75-3.50 a "cup", they are not cheap (although compared to some others in town a "bargain"), yet they do seem more on the mass produced side than I would have expected. If I was rating just cupcakes, this would be a 3. However, I will give props to the simply lovely space you have created inside. It really is a warm nice place, and if I liked the cupcakes more I would move in. That space gets the rating an extra star. Its really terrific.

My lemon coconut cake was incredible...

Simply the best lemon coconut cake ever. Thx mo. I will recommend your baking skills and fabulous cakes to everyone.

Such a cute little shop! I saw they won a cupcake challenge on the food network so I had to check them out. I have been eating healthier and decided that this would be a great cheat day dessert. I didn't sit down to eat since I was picking them up on my way home from work but I would consider that next time. It's very cute and chic. I had such a hard time deciding on which cupcake to choose I pretty much got one of each. I'm not sure which was my favorite because they were all so good! I had to try the brown sugar cake with sesame buttercream and sesame brittle because that was the winning cupcake on the food network. It didn't disappoint. I took pictures of all the cupcakes I tasted so check them out so you can know what you want when you visit! I recommend going with a friend or friends and buying a few and have a tasting party with them so you can have more than one without feeling super bad about yourself for eating 4 cupcakes. They are pricier than if you went to a bakery within a grocery store (around $3 a cupcake) but I feel that it's worth it and is a great way to treat yourself!

Lemon raspberry and bailey's deviled food cupcakes.
    Kay L.

I enjoyed the lemon raspberry cupcakes. It was a moist cupcake with a perfectly balanced icing. The deviled food bailey's cupcake was a bit sweeter than what I normally like but it wasn't bad. The interior of the shop is cute and clean. Cupcakes are a bit on the pricier side compared to other places around the same neighborhood but they weren't bad so I'm not complaining.

After doing various cupcake tastings around buffalo for our wedding we were finally wowed with Fairy Cakes Cupcakery !! We knew from the moment we walked through the door this place was different . It had such good vibes throughout the whole bakery. We were treated by the owner and she was so nice and welcoming . Then we went on to try their cupcakes and they were truly amazing ! Exactly what I was looking for : the perfect cupcake ! After we were finished my fiancé and I were walking to the car and we looked at each other and said " this is the place " went right back inside and left our deposit for our wedding day ! And bonus ! They have beautiful cupcake stands ! I'm so excited for them to be a part of my wedding day Update: my wedding cake and cupcakes were so amazing !!! Everyone kept talking about how delicious they were all night ! Amazing !

From top to bottom - Oreo, Nutter Butter, Kitchen Sink (combo of Reese, Oreos, and Nutter Butters), and Mocha
    Laura G.

Poptarts! You must try them! They will satisfy any childhood memory/craving you may have of these packaged pastries and leave you wanting more. The flavors range from the classics like Strawberry to ones you wish they had when you were a kid, like Kitchen Sink (stuffed with Oreos and Nutter Butters and topped with Reese). Each poptart is $3, which I feel is reasonable since most bakeries charge $2 for a cookie. Lastly they recommended eating them at room temperature. I would be willing to try them warmed up. But I can't complain they were perfect at room temperature. Oh and the woman I placed the order with, Mo, was very friendly. Great service at Fairy Cakes!

    Salted Caramel

Very glad to have found this place, which was hiding in plain sight on Parkside Ave across from the zoo. I drive by it every day to and from work, but have never noticed the small shop with a rather inconspicuous storefront. The piña colada cupcake sent me straight to the beach with the first whiff. Unfortunately, the cake didn't live up to the frosting, as it was a little on the dry side. For whatever reason, the salted caramel cupcake had no such problem. It was super moist...everything you would want from a cupcake. I personally prefer smaller cupcakes so that you can try a bunch of different flavors, but these ones were downright brobdingnagian...definitely the biggest I've ever seen from a boutique cupcake shop. Notwithstanding, I'm sure I'll give in to temptation again in the near future.

    Do they deliver cakes?

With enough notice, we can deliver cupcakes, cakes, cookies, pies, or anything else from our menu.

    Are there any vegan options?

Yes, we do have vegan cupcake flavors on our website and we make vegan coconut macaroons, brownies, and cookies. We don't have them in the shop everyday-we do them by special order. Also, they are made in the same kitchen as our other baked goods.…

The vibe is cozy but elevated: natural light, warm tones, the kind of space where you can journal, edit photos, or have a soft life catch-up with a friend. Let's talk orders: Rose Matcha -- This is the drink. Lightly floral, perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and somehow both calming and energizing. It feels grounding without being gimmicky. I may have even gotten my boyfriend hooked to matcha off of this drink alone Cupid's Latte -- Seasonal but unforgettable. It's sweet without being cloying and tastes like a cozy little love letter in a cup. The kind of drink that makes you romanticize your entire day. Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakkie Sandwich -- Absolute classic done right. The sausage is flavorful, the egg is cooked perfectly, and everything melts together in that satisfying, messy-in-the-best-way breakfast sandwich experience. It hits every time. Chocolate Muffins (and baked goods in general) -- Soft, rich, bakery-level good. Not dry. Not overly sweet. Just the right indulgence to pair with coffee while pretending you're being productive. What I love most is that nothing feels mass-produced. It feels intentional. The staff is always kind and efficient, even when it's busy, and the quality is consistent. Jam Parkside isn't just a coffee shop, it's a ritual. A reset button. A soft, delicious pause in the middle of a chaotic week. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool, the kind of place that makes you want to linger for hours with a good book and a great cup of coffee. My fiancé and I each ordered one of their specialty coffees along with bagels, and everything was fantastic. After a less than stellar experience at Tim Hortons earlier in the trip, Seven Hearts completely redeemed our coffee expectations. It was exactly the aesthetic and experience I had been searching for. What really made it special was how quickly it felt like a place I could make part of my routine. If I lived in Buffalo, this would absolutely be my go to coffee shop. Before leaving, I picked up a couple of honey sticks and a bottle of their house made lavender syrup to bring home. Now I get to enjoy a little taste of Seven Hearts, and Buffalo, with my morning coffee for a few more days.

Upon entering, no one greeted me, and I felt rushed while looking over the menu. When I asked questions, it felt like I was inconveniencing the employee rather than being helped. I ordered the blueberry lemon bar matcha and hoped the drink would redeem the experience, but it was disappointing. The flavor combination didn't work well in a matcha drink, and it left a strange aftertaste/coating in my mouth. I also specifically requested no dairy (asked for oat milk) yet it still came topped with cold foam, which upset my stomach. It looked cute, but for nearly $9, it wasn't enjoyable. I had originally planned to order food as well, but the overall atmosphere and interaction felt so uncomfortable that I decided to just take my drink and leave.

I was thrilled to finally make to it Cafe Bewilderment for lunch yesterday. First and foremost, the Monocle Building itself is stunning with immaculate vibes. Once we found Cafe Bewilderment, I was, in fact, bewildered. It's beautiful, it's wild, and it's a place I already know I'll want to return to again and again. The setup is simple: order at the counter, grab your table marker (a very tiny tree stump - how fun is that?), and your food is brought out to you. All of the employees were friendly and the gentleman at the register helped me decide between the Lox Sandwich and the Hot Honey Burrata. He recommended the lox so I went with that. The Lox Sandwich was more of a lox toast than a sandwich, but whatever it was delicious and surprisingly filling. My mom ordered the Bewild BLT and ended up taking half of it home, so I'd say hers was also filling. To drink, I ordered a hot latte with lavender and cardamom. It was so, so good, and the presentation was chef's kiss. Honestly, though, the decor is mesmerizing. Everywhere you look there's something interesting to admire - even the bathroom. I really, really, really want to come back to try more of the menu as well as their cocktails. Something tells me Cafe Bewilderment is just as magical in the evening as it is during the day!!!
