I found this place by reading the reviews and I am so glad I decided to stop by. I happen to be on vacation on my way to New Orleans and it was time for a pedicure and fill. I didn't have an appointment and I was able to walk in. I got a happy feet pedicure with the hot stone massage. I must say I think it may be one of the best pedicures I've ever gotten!! And the free drinks while your there is awesome as well. The only hiccup was that I had black powder on my nails and they did the fill with navy blue powder, but I still loved the color!! read more

This small family owned nail salon has been a favorite of mine for a quick mani pedi for many years. They are quick, polite and very warm to all their patrons. The shop is always very clean and they welcome drop-ins. I've never had to wait more than about 10 mins when I've dropped in. But if I'm going on the weekend I always make an appointment. The have a variety of other services like waxing - I haven't taken them up on these. But their manicures & pedicures are exceptional. read more

A great nail place! I was definitely surprised! I called on a Monday morning and was able to get in, in just a matter of minutes. I walked in and was almost instantly seated in a pedicure chair. I was offered a margarita (YASS!), but be warned...some snobby women love Fairy Nails, and they will JUDGE and make comment! I explained to them that it was 5 o'clock somewhere and drank up! (It was about noon and MY WEEKEND). I was offered a second margarita but declined, where I was once again judged by these snotty woman! There I received a pedicure, which was great. My nail tech was chatty and kind and we talked about my husband and his's shared love of fishing and the local fishing spots in the area. He did a wonderful job! Not quite a week later and my polish is looking great still. I then received a acrylic full set+gel polish manicure. I was moved to a different nail tech, who was a bit more on the reserved side but still friendly. I explained that I needed short nails, because I type all day and she recommended me use gel polish on the acrylic instead of the regular polish that I picked out. I decided to try it out, but was a little shocked at the price tag at the end. I'll make the final call when I see how long these nails last, usually gel polishes start to peel at the 1 week mark and get worse from there. My total price tag? $70 plus tip for two nail techs. Pricey. But perhaps the gel on the acrylic will save me repeat visits. I'll update later. 5 stars because Fairy Nails is CLEAN, upscale, friendly, and the owner is a hoot! They have plenty of both regular polish colors and gel polish colors to choose from. I would recommend avoiding Monday's around lunch time as they got very busy and the clientele was less than friendly. read more

Consistently good service! I've been here about 10 times now for manis/pedis and really appreciate how seriously they take infection control. All equipment comes from the autoclave in sealed wrappers and they line the pedicure tubs. The pedicure chairs are recently upgraded and give really good massages! The owner is hilarious and always offers water/beer/wine. I think the pricing is very fair. Also have a giant selection of powder, polish, and shellac colors. read more

There are a number of decent nail salons in San Antonio but this one was very good. We had a reservation but not sure it was needed. They started offering us margaritas before we even got in the door and found us seats right away. The margaritas are the canned bud light kind which they offered to us in a variety of flavors and kept them coming throughout our visit. I was with a friend that I was looking forward to talking with but it seemed my nail person wanted desperately to be a part of our conversation and he butted in throughout our visit. (Ackward!). However, I got both a manicure and a pedicure. Both were of good quality and done quickly. I got the "mood polish" which was a first for me and I totally love it (changes color based on your temperature). In general, this shop was clean and efficient. I am so impressed!! Came here with one of my friends so we could get her nails done since she was getting engaged that night and it was close by. When we got there it was so busy, every chair was full. When i asked how long the wait was he told me 10 minutes but really we only waited about 5. When they started working on our nails they seemed to be working at a really fast pace so my immediate thought was that our nails were going to look rushed. Also, i got dip and i got the impression that not everyone knew that technique since 3 different people worked on me. However at the end of the experience i was SHOOK. My nails haven't looked this good in a long time and my friends looked perfect for her engagement. Totally recommend! Staff was super nice and the owner is really personable. Great job! read more

I have been to many nail salons around the country and Fairy Nails did not disappoint. It's quaint and friendly atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They offered drinks to everyone too. It is a bit pricey but the workmanship cannot be matched. Ha did my pedicure I opted for an upgrade to the paraffin wax and longer massage. It was fantastic. I then had acrylic tips applied masterfully and they came out beautiful. They used all OPI products on me. Which I am a huge fan of. I plan to continue going to Fairy Nails in the future. After living in San Antonio for 5 years and trying countless nail salons, I am SO glad to have found this place. The service is exceptional, and I have never walked out unhappy. Each and every nail technician is excellent at their job and very friendly. Even on their busiest day (basically everyday) they will make sure to tend to you as quickly as possible. I was in last week and actually received a small Christmas gift on my way out...so sweet!! If I could leave this place a negative star review, I would. Went in after work with one of my friends to get an acrylic shellac, and we both left with bleeding cuticles. The nail tech kept making jokes that I needed another margarita for my bleeding. 8 of my 10 fingers were bleeding. None of their stuff is sanitized and he pulled out his nail tools from an old mini Altoids tin. Then to top it off, the nails on my right are longer than the nails on my left, and there was acrylic residue left on my hands as well. It was great! I've only ever been to one salon here in San Antonio and it was pretty expensive. I was looking for something a little more inexpensive with great quality, which is very hard to find, but I was able to find Fairy Nails. And I'm in love with the job they do. The salon is very clean and organized and the staff is impeccable, they try their hardest to give you exactly what you want. I went with a friend to get my nails done. I wanted to get shellac done and they kept trying to up sell me on EVERYTHING! After saying about 4 times that all I wanted was the manicure, I was able to sit down. The lady sped through my manicure and I didn't even get the massage you typically get with a manicure. Then my friend's manicure was taking a little longer so I sat and kept taking with her. Then they asked me to move so that 3 new clients could sit down instead. I've been coming here for years. Service has progressively gotten worse & worse!!! I had an appointment and waited 40 minutes BEYOND appointment time before anyone came to pedicure chair. (I was 5 minutes late and the owner said that's why I had to wait) REALLY??? So I guess I was being punished... Walk in were helped before me!!! I've been recommended several times to this nail salon and decided to take a chance on it. My friend and I went on a Friday morning just before 11:30 thinking it wouldn't be too packed. Boy! Were we wrong, each station was taken by a client laughing, or enjoying a nice conversation with their neighbor. We were immediately greeted by the manager who gave us an estimate of 10 minutes to be seen. My friend and I figured ten minutes wasn't bad at all, as we picked our colors and sat down in the lobby the manager brought us a beverage and wanted to make sure we were comfortable with the wait time. About ten minutes later it was our turn to be pampered, and it was amazing. I went with the traditional pedicure which came with a hot towel massage and while other nail salons typically burn my skin with their hot towels, Fairy nails had the perfect temperature for their towels. Once, my pedicure was done my manicurist helped me walk to his station and carried my stuff so I wouldn't risk forgetting anything. I decided on a shellac manicure and when it came time to discuss the length of my nails my manicurist knew exactly how I wanted my nails (which is always a hit or miss for me and nail salons). He ended my manicure with a message on both hands and walked me to the seating area where I could wait for my friend. As I was waiting for my friend I noticed there was some left over shellac under my nails which I started to take off on my own, my manicurist noticed I was examining my nails and asked if there was anything he could do to help or if he needed to re-do my nails if I wasn't satisfied. I'm not one to sweat the small stuff so I declined his offer but was completely impressed by his awareness of his clients even when we was about to help another customer. Overall, I am so glad I was recommended to this nail salon and would recommend it to anyone searching for a fun, welcoming, professional nail salon. read more

It's owned by a cute couple, who will have you laughing one minute and looking beautiful the next. They take getting your nails done to the next level. I have solar nails and Steven is like an artist. He can craft the powder into tiny lines to make every single visit completely custom. I have rated them so high because they know my name every time I walk in, treat my daughter like she is a princess and help each and every confused husband get the correct gift. I love this place! This is the best nail salon I've ever been to. You need to have a sense of humor though because the staff is super friendly and they like to joke around. They are very attentive and they do an excellent job. My manicures and pedicures (even without shellac) always last at least a week. They take care of calluses really well. I'm ashamed to admit that I fell in love with this salon because I cheated on my usual nail salon. I know, I know, but let me explain. My husband loves going to the gaming store around the corner and one day while we were over there I looked down at my sad 3 week old shellac nails and decided eh, what the hell why not just pop into this little salon and get a manicure. Little did I know that I would fall in love and never return to my original place. This salon is the perfect mix of comfortable, clean, friendly and efficient. Despite how busy they were on my last visit, they were able to take me with only a few minutes of waiting. I've never felt like they were rushing to get through my manicure and they have always done an excellent job. Also, just about everyone is very friendly, especially Steve the owner. I feel like he really cares about his salon and his customers. He even offered my 3 year old ice cream and snacks while he waited with my husband. How many salons have you been to that do that? I know the reviews here are mixed, but I honestly would say to give them a try. I recently moved to SA from Los Angeles and have tried several nail salons in the area and this one is the best so far. As far as price, they're on par as the other nail salons in the area ($40 for nail take off, acrylic over lay on my natural nails and gel polish) a tad expensive but to me, it was worth it. They pay great attention to detail and don't let you leave with your nails looking a mess. They offer you a beverage of your choice when you sit down (even margaritas!) and there is less of a language barrier here than other nail salons I've been to.
