I had friends arriving at IAH which made timing at the restaurant iffy. We arrived well before the travelers finally arrived at the restaurant (near closing time). The staff was attentive to us while we waited and welcomed in the late travelers with a smile; with great service to boot. Even though we left well after closing time we were all very impressed with the staff's service; happily serving us regardless of the hour. read more

This was my 1st time & I was suitably impressed. Great view of the lake from our table. Waitress was very sweet and helpful. Bathroom was spotless. My drink was pretty ( strawberry margarita ) and tasty. We ordered the beef fajitas which were so tender & yummy. The tables outside offer a fantastic alternative to indoor dining & with the cooler weather this is ideal ! . Parking is not a problem. Bring a few quarters to feed the fish off the docks. The family & I had originally planned to eat @ Sams boat after a long day on Lake Conroe .. We were STARVING ! So I ended yelping FJ bc the smell of good food was so intense in the parking lot .. We couldn't help but follow our senses ! Place was definitely a packed house & with a party of 8 we had to wait for an outside table on the dock. Our wait was about 30 mins.. BUT WORTH IT! So our original table was in some dark corner to left of the outside patio .. We couldn't even read our menus . BUT.. Our server ended up moving up to a dock side table .. Happy happy ! Everyone enjoyed the food ! Husband & son shared the fajitas platter for 2 & girls got the cheese enchiladas... No complaints ! Food was fresh, hot & very favorable! I dont remember my dish name ... But IT WAS DELICIOUS (see pic) ! Server was on point & attentive! The other family we were with enjoyed their meal just as much ! Restaurant was nice, clean, decorative to its Mexican theme. Outside dock was lovely (having perfect weather on a Saturday night was a PLUS). And they make their corn & flour tortillas inside HOMEMADE! The only complaint I have is the restroom stall I used was out of TP (I had to get my daughter to hand me some from the next stall ). And when they first sat us we were in a dark corner, other then that .. So for that im giving them 4 stars .. Otherwise it would've been 5! But Everything was Awesome! This kind of became our new happy hour spot since we moved nearby. Great view, good food and awesome drinks. Whoever makes drinks in the afternoon does the best job on their margaritas. I was never really a fan of them but getting a slushy on a hot afternoon is divine! Would recommend for large groups or get together with friends. read more

Wow what a disappointment! Had lunch here today and noticed a big decline in the quality of food. I had chicken fajitas and the chicken was not good. It was stringy and tough and you could tell it was a low quality full of brine. The vegetables were very over cooked and mushy. I bypassed the rice and beans but my friend said they were bad and couldn't eat them. It was only Tuesday but there were only a handful of tables so maybe others have noticed a decline in the food as well. Such a shame as this was always a favorite place to meet friends for lunch or dinner...good food, drinks and large outside seating area. Won't be going back any time soon. read more

I really want to give this 4 and a half stars, because it deserves the extra half, but yelp won't let me and it didn't warn the full 5. The variety and selection were very good. Service was excellent. A bit loud on the music, but otherwise atmosphere was ok. My only complaint was that the food wasn't seasoned very well. If you make the fajita into a taco with the rice and sour cream and everything, it's good but the fajitas on their own are a bit bland. Now, they do have what they called "Mexican butter" (melted butter with garlic and other spices) to pour on the meat - . I need them to bottle this stuff or make it into an IV form. Seriously. If they would marinate the fajitas in this stuff for a few hours before cooking them... The wife got seafood enchiladas. REALLY good but needed a bit more sauce (that was also really good). Oh, and the corn chowder? Yum. And I just tasted the tres leches cheesecake. Add more seasoning to your fajitas and it would be a solid 5 star. read more

The atmosphere makes this restaurant for me! We sat on the patio with the breezy blowing, watching the boats come and go. We ordered drinks, apps and an order of tacos and none disappointed. We ordered plain queso with tortillas and the tortillas were homemade, very fresh and tasted delicious! They were soft and fluffy! The refried beans were awesome too. We tried the Fireman Tacos and they were just the right amount of spicy and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. All the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. read more

The food was nothing special , views are nice unless they sit you out in full sun even though they had umbrellas that were not being used... not good for elderly and thought quiet rude to do to disabled people when all the y had shade and they slso had open tables they could had moved is too! Great location with patio overlooking the lake. They have a fire pit on the patio which was great. We weren't seated right next to it but we got the perfect amount of heat. Also provided a nice ambiance. Food was great and our server did an excellent job. Only thing I found odd was the appetizers werent very innovative or deserving of having the same price as the meals. But I realize that might just be my personal opinion so still 5 stars for this place. read more

Food is just okay. Nothing great! Location is what keeps them going. We arrived this evening to an almost empty restaurant at 5:00. When we left close to 6:30 there were less people there. Took over five minutes for our waiter to get to the table. At first we thought he was on drugs or something. I immediately asked him how he was doing. I think I confused him. He took awhile to respond and when he did his voice was barely audible. It was so hard to hear him. We ordered drinks and queso. Drinks took over 10 minutes to arrive. My husbands beer was not what he ordered and the queso arrived as well. Twenty minutes later plates for queso arrived. The chips were all broken and so small. We had to ask for chips to eat our queso. We figured he was new and being a waiter is not a good match due to his lack of interpersonal skills. He was ackward but we were trying to go with it. He never came back and asked about more drinks. A manager came by and did that. When my second margarita arrived it was much smaller than the first. Fast forward to the check. Both my drinks were the same price. The manager who came had obviously not ordered me the happy hour special. Our dinner for two of nothing fabulous food was close to$80. I talked to a man who said he was a manager but had no class. He acted as if nothing was wrong and blamed it all on the waiter. That is way too much money to spend on dinner for food and drinks that are less than average. Restaurants do not care about customers being satisfied or happy with their food and service anymore. This "manager" who was standing her the kitchen area Is a prime example. He was a jerk to me. He needs to wake up and listen to his customers. read more

We were quoted a 20 minute wait and waited 40. Once sat, we watched our waiter greet a table that was sat after us and it took 10 minutes to be greeted. We gave him the entire food and drink order as we had waited a long time to this point. He returned 10 minutes later and asked us our order again as it had still not been put in and "water was spilled on his server book." We ended up just leaving as we were very hungry and lost faith that this restaurant could facilitate serving food and drinks. It's worth noting that 1/4 of the restaurant had empty tables as they were clearly understaffed. While our server wasn't good (I have 9 years restaurant experience), the managerial staff clearly set their team up for failure. To be fair- I have been at this restaurant before and received good service and great food- though they were not busy at all at the time. They were busy this time which has highlighted the shortcomings of this restaurant and the staff. read more

The food was exceptionally good the server was very polite very friendly and he did an excellent job. the hostesses were shit they were really rude coming in and rude to me but maybe an off day i do get. that the bartenders that work there are absolutely unreliable at making a decent drink I ordered two margaritas and all I tasted was the margarita sweet-and-sour mix it was disgusting both times it was ridiculous!! paying that much and the bartender had the gall to tell me that if you want it to be better than you can get top shelf that crap might work with a regular person who has never been a bartender but I've been a bartender I can make any margarita taste like a exceptional margarita you got a learn how to mix that right and they did not and it wasn't just me my friend who went with me also said it was a crap drink because I was trying to make sure it wasn't just me. foods and wait staff are fantastic. bartenders suck they definitely new bartenders and new hostesses!! read more
