This was my first time trying this place out and it was pretty good! I ordered the falafel pita sandwich and the falafel plate that comes with rice and cucumber salad. The sandwich with all the veggies and sauce was excellent! The mix of flavors and textures really did it for me. Although the sandwich was great, the falafel alone was a bit too dry but eating it together with the rice and salad really balanced it out. The staff was very pleasant. I've eaten at several Middle Eastern restaurants in the extended area and would say the flavor of this restaurants food was different. Although I didn't enjoy it as much as other similar restaurants I've been to, the food was fine. Maybe this food is more authentic or just from a different region then what I'm used to. I walked in not knowing what expect. It's a small place with a small parking lot but found parking easy! I ordered a lunch plate and waiting very short time. The cook brought my food out which was cool. Then I looked at my plate! Wow! This is big! The fries were seasoned perfect! The falafel on pita was so good you can taste the love put into this food. This was disappointing. (Maybe it was an off day.) I ordered the vegetarian combo to go. When I got home, I found I had only one half of a pita bread, no baba ganoush and no tahini sauce. I kept thinking that the double dose of hummos must two different kinds, but no, they were exactly the same. However, the rice and falafel were fabulous! Decided to try this place out, Wow! I've travelled the world and have had many different versions of "middle eastern" food and especially so in this neighborhood. I decided on trying the combo plate for $9.99. 2 skewers of kefta kabob 2 skewers of chicken kefta kabob ( a first for me) and a few grilled chunks of saffron marinated grilled chicken. All atop a fragrant and heavily spiced basmati rice. All of this plus a Jerusalem and tabouleh salad for $9.99!! What a deal!! Everything tastes amazing especially the chicken kefta kabob. I've always had beef/lamb kefta but the chicken kefta is so amazingly seasoned that I just couldn't get enough!! To make a small critique the beef kefta was a little bit dry but still tasted great. The salads where fresh and cool a prefect accompaniment to the heavily spiced and fragrant meats. Definitely coming back!!! read more

This is a slam dunk right here. First off, the quality and quantity of food is a good value...I spent $20 to get a falafel meal plus hummus delivered, and I feel like I most certainly got what I paid for. Now, the important stuff - the food. Holy bananas, folks...I've had a lot of Middle Eastern food in Chicago, and this might be the best. The falafels themselves were PERFECT - ideally crisp on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. The green color is also a giveaway that they use fresh chickpeas rather than canned or dried. The hummus is decent; maybe not my favorite, and perhaps I'll try the baba next time. The Jerusalem salad and fattoush are both fresh and well prepared - not overly oiled, right amount of herbage, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. And then there's the rice. Rice is not normally an exciting part of a plate at a Middle Eastern restaurant - an expected one, but not typically a star. It's the background starch. Not here. This is the best rice I've ever had from just about any restaurant - cardamom scented, lightly spiced with saffron, just a little hint of butter or oil. It's actually rice you want to eat with your food. All in all, this was a great meal and I will most certainly be trying out more of the menu in the future! read more

Tried for the first time today. I ate at the restaurant, bright and clean interior. There's about 4-5 tables. Food is fantastic! I got the shawarma chicken salad (with half jerusalem and half tabbouleh), side of hummus and two stuffed falafels. The presentation was beautiful! The salad and hummus were delicious and the stuffed falafel was nice and crispy with just the right amount of spiciness. Enough food that I had to take the rest to go. The staff is very friendly. The flavors were decent, not amazing. It was way more rice than meat, it was a quarter cup of half inch long pencil thin strips on a 2 cup bed of rice.
