    Big Combination

Food was great, service was fast. Big Combination was a healthy serving of food, great deal!

Came here on a whim after getting off work late. I was met with a friendly hello and she took my order. As I waited for my food, I looked around rhe dining area which was sparse but people were eating and chatting. I received my food and bolted home to dig in. The gyro was good but different than what I'm used to. There wasn't any raw onions or tomatoes, but it had grilled/sautéed onion on it. The tzatziki sauce was on the bottom and it "melted" so I wasn't able to really taste it. The flavors were on point but I might have to ask for the raw onions and tomatoes the next time. Don't get me wrong it was a good gyro and it hit the spot even though it was a little off target.

The food and service was great! The best we have had. We randomly stopped here and we will definitely be back. The chef is top level! Thank you.

Mr. kabab food is DELICIOUS! And TASTY!! Flavor upon flavor had made my tummy happy. The food is very filling I couldn't even finish my plate had it for lunch and dinner. It also came with a side of soup, Again #DELICIOUS. The workers are nice and friendly. Coming from Florida to Chicago this place was the first place we stopped by for food. That was a great kick off to many more food spot to hit in Chicago. Keep it up Mr.Kabab!

I love this humble place because of its location and accessibility. The price is reasonable yet the food tastes fantastic. I personally love their Chicken Shawarma and greek salad. It's so nice to see that they serve Horchata and jamaica too.

Trust me, this is the man that can make you happy with your belly

My Syrian friend makes the best. Freaking shawarma wraps I've ever had. Great flavor. Super friendly guy. Always want to be eating his food. Location is amazing.

If you follow my reviews, then you know I try Schwarber from everywhere. This is my first time at this restaurant, and the Shawarma is fantastic. The rice, fantastic. The lentil soup will surprise you how delicious it is.

My fave place for Mediterranean food. Always so good and fresh. Huge portions too which can feed up to 2-3 people. Highly recommend this place!

    Chilla-Fry! Wow!!!

Been to way to many middle Eastern restaurants, and this hits home. Hands down, just like my dad use to make it. You have to try it.

This my second time here ordering for pick up through Grubhub Pickup. I love this place! It's super convenient since it's on Peterson Plaza( one block from me). I'm a fatty and I was stuffed with the chicken shawarma entree, the amount of food is perfect for left overs. The staff is highly friendly and professional. I think the owner was there too. Again, support small businesses. This is a top notch new place to order to go or even safely dine in. I will be coming back here.

It's an incredibly popular Turkish sandwich, loved and adored in the city of Berlin, Germany of all places. Our son, visiting us here in Chicago (from New York) was taunting the virtues of this rather large and tasty sandwich and of course, the city of Chicago has a restaurant making this; just right up the street. Döner 97 on Clark Street adjacent to Lincoln Park is serving up this delicious, sloppy (in a good way) sandwich with all of the fixings. I had their Combination Döner Sandwich a combination of both beef / lamb and chicken kebab sandwich with tender, seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and flavorful sauces in warm flatbread. I really liked it. We also bought a Chicken Döner Sandwich with delicious chicken döner kebab sandwich: tender, seasoned chicken, fresh veggies, and flavorful sauces in warm flatbread. Also very good. These Döner sandwiches are huge like a massive Mexican burrito, messy like a sloppy Joe sandwich, but fun like French Fondue. Döner 97 was a first for me and I was pleasantly surprised!

It's more fast food than dining room, even though there are tables and chairs, if you prefer. The döner sandwiches are something special. It's clear they use fresh ingredients and put a little tlc in every one they prepare. If you're into baked potato check out the build your own Kumpir. Butter drenched potato with your choice of veggies and proteins added. A meal in itself! I sampled and loved their Red Lentil soup and Bulgar dishes. The big winner this night was the Ćevapi sausages in their special flatbread. Pro Tip: consider splitting something. The portion size is impressive. If you like leftovers, ignore my tip and get two completely different dishes that you can share the next day. Actually, that's two tips in one. So Pro Tips! The cost was fairly reasonable and the waitstaff very efficient. Cousin Mickey (his name is Michael, her's is Amelia; they DID have the nicknames before meeting each other) spent two years traveling back and forth between Germany and Turkey and he claims this fare to be very authentic. 09/25

We got the smoky garlic hummus, whipped feta, brussel sprouts, and lemon meringue bar for dessert, and honestly everything was amazing. The harissa honey on the brussel sprouts was so good, and the lemon meringue bar with the citrus crema and graham cracker crust was the perfect sweet item to round out the meal. They bring complementary pita with your hummus and dips and the bread with za'atar itself was delicious. They recommend 2-3 share plates per person, but we ordered 3 plus dessert for two people and still had leftovers. So I'd say it definitely depends on how hungry you are! We went for lunch/brunch and were pretty much the first people there, so service was super fast. Our server was lovely and incredibly attentive with topping off water and clearing plates. Definitely would come back to try some of their larger plate options.

The food is where Ēma really shines. From the Happy Hour menu, the Charred Eggplant Hummus and Crispy Potatoes were generously portioned and great for sharing. On the main menu, the Indian-Mediterranean fusion Bhel Hummus was a party for my taste buds, while the Hot Honey Halloumi and Chicken Kefta rounded out the table nicely. The halloumi is more of a side than a main, but that sweet-and-salty hot honey combo was chef's kiss. For our finisher, the Chocolate Torte knocked us out. Decadent, delicious and chocolate with lots of depth. Overall, Ēma is an excellent spot to order a bunch of dishes for the table and get an elevated meal without feeling stuffy, and delicious without taking itself too seriously.
