11. Chicken Shawarma Platter
Dan A.

We were in Towson and wanted some Shawarma, Hummus and discovered this hidden gem. We ordered the Lamb and Chicken Shawarma combos. Lamb/Chicken were tender and cooked/seasoned just right. Rice, Hummus and salad were tasty. We got an extra order of Hummus and Baba Ganoush as well Tabouli Salad and all were happy with their selections. Service was fast and friendly. The spot for Shawarma & Falafel in Towson!

Showing you that this gusting dried up chicken in my chicken Shawarma wrap. It's inedible.

I ordered three items for delivery. Only two items came one was refunded. Chicken Shawarma wrap was disgusting it hard chunks of dried up chicken that was inedible.

10. Lamb Shawarma Platter

I was really excited to try this place because I love middle eastern food. I ordered the lamb shawarma platter and it was ready within 10 minutes. The lamb was really delicious (even the very well done pieces); however, the hummus was lacking flavor and the rice didn't add much much to the overall taste. I was not crazy about the flavor of the white sauce but it was acceptable. Usually the white sauce is the highlight of halal food and most people cover their food in it - I used it sparingly. The pita was warm and fresh, but I only ate a little since I don't care for wheat bread. The food was adequate, but I'll continue to go to the halal guys and spend half the money I spent here and it tastes a lot better.

Their vegan chicken shawarma is my favorite food in Baltimore!…read more I came up for a couple days last year and had cravings for it ever since. Just moved to the area, and I was heartbroken to see it wasn't on the menu. But it's back!!! Ordered it yesterday, and *angelic singing*

I can't speak on the customer service because I didn't talk to anyone. I ordered at the kiosk and they called my number and that was it. I paid $19.45 for my meal. I order a side of falafels (3) and the street bowl with beef flank, tzatziki, and mild red pepper sauce. The falafels were way too crispy. I feel like compared to other falafels I've tried these were on the hard side. Thankfully I had some tzatziki sauce to dip them in, if I didn't, they would have been a little hard to eat. The flavor was okay but the texture was not appealing. I really wanted to get beef shawarma but they were out so I opted for the beef flank. I wish I would have just gotten chicken instead. The bowl came with rice and a lettuce salad that was underneath the beef. I'm not sure if the lettuce had arugula in it as well, but the lettuce gave sort of a bitter taste which I did not care for at all. Did not taste good so I would add a lot of tzatziki sauce to it to cut down on the bitter taste. The beef was okay, nothing to rave about. I was just very underwhelmed with my food. Not sure if I would give it a try again. If so, I would definitely get something else or build my own bowl maybe. Try it for yourself and see how you like it.

I attended a wedding celebration there on Thursday and am happy to report I was wrong. The staff was professional and welcoming. It was pretty chaotic with people randomly showing up. They took it all in stride. We were offered water and drinks immediately as we waited for the bride and groom. While we had a "set" menu, every option sounded delicious. Finally the happy couple joined us and we could order for real! I doubled down ordering both hot crab dip and crab cakes. Hot rolls. Yes and they were fantastic. The dip was good. Our servers brought out to go containers almost immediately. It wasn't possible to eat all the food available. I ordered a blue margarita. Strong and yummy. Tasted the crab cake which was good as well. The broccoli seemed an afterthought. Cooked well but NO SEASONING! Who does that? All in all it was a wonderful celebration with family and friends. I'll be back to finish exploring the menus!

** 10 Year Review Update **…read more It had been many moons since I've visited this place until a few weeks ago. I visited a few weeks ago, and again this past weekend. Inexpensive street parking as well as convenient garage parking near. Upon entry SUPER CROWDED. College students and young adults everywhere. Despite the heavy crowds, there manages to always be a seat for my party, the employees are fantastic, and the food continues to be delicious. On 3'13'2026, I visited w GodSis, and was assisted by Kyle. Kyle had a big personality and was very pleasant. Collectively, we ordered the following. HH-House Wine (White) - Amazing as usual. HH-House Wine (Red/ White) - Refreshing Broccoli - Came out cold, sent back for hot broccoli. HH-Steamed Shrimp - Plentiful and yum. HH-Grilled Lamb Chops - Tender, well plated, savory. HH-Thai Chili Wings - Amazing flavor, great texture and temp. Fries - Ok. Room temp. HH- Spinach and Artichoke Dip - Very good. Plentiful. Yup, I'll surely return to hang out w the future if tomorrow.

I was given a card my first visit to Shah's when I ordered the chapli chicken platter, a bowl with ground chicken patties with spices, and included a few pakora chips. I didn't know about the promotion, but it fit my plan to try every type of bowl! The bowls are customized at the counter, adding sauteed peppers'n'onions, black beans, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, hummus, chickpeas, etc. I usually keep it simple. They are very generous with their signature white sauce and you might want to ask for less, and the green sauce is tasty too. The pakora chips are very good, I recommend anyone skip the french fries this time to try them instead. I wasn't a fan of the pita, thick and without much flavor. The fish had just the right amount of coating and was very good. I'd skip the chicken kofta, it was too dry. Overall, good.

3/5 - Great Service but food and drinks can get better from a vegetarian's perspective…read more Service (1/1) - Cypriana's service is top notch. From the attentive servers, to owners coming out to chat and share their stories, the service was excellent. There isn't much I would change from what they're doing right now. My server was fully attentive even with a packed house. She helped us make the right choices based on our vegetarian diet. Setting (0.25/1) - Perhaps because we were placed in the middle of the hallway and I was facing the doors to the kitchen, I didn't have a great view overall. If they had extended the dividers, I would have felt a bit more cozy and special. Other tables may have a different perception on this but I didn't get a different table so... Drinks (0.5/1) - I really can't say much about this. My drink was just okay okay. In hindsight I should have picked a wine or beer but all the special drinks I initially selected were "not available" so I had to go with some just off the top. To provide a special drinks menu but not have half of it available was disappointing. Food (1/2) - The good - lots of vegetarian options. The bad - they lacked flavor and seasoning. Their best food for me was their pita and hummus. Chef's special pita isn't worth the "upgrade" in my opinion as just the pita and hummus can deliver. Second, the falafel are amazing. They were fresh, flavor packed, and crunchy yet delicate inside. But that's where the good parts end. Rest of my adventures from their menu were letting me down. Like the side fries were just too oily, or the Moussaka lacking proper seasoning. The grape leaves or the crispy cheese puffs, most were just salty. After trying 7-8 different items, only two seemed unique in flavor profile. This place has lots of potential, the people are nice, and they have great options for vegetarians. I'd like to see them improve a bit more on their offerings so I can give it another try.
