This is a nice feeling place, portions are large, staff are friendly, food comes out quickly and prices are fair. Order at the counter kind of place. I love middle Eastern food and this place is just meh. The house mad pita bread is yummy, but the falafel was 3 on scale of 1-10, 10 being the best. I picked out most of the falfel and ate the bread. I have had a lot of falfel in my life time and this was some of the worst I have had. read more

Dang! We dropped by because we were in the mood for something healthy and delicious. This was a perfect choice. I had the salad with falafel. The falafel was PERFECT! Crunchy and flavorful. We make a point to eat here every time we visit Ashland. So fresh and flavorful, with lots of options to customize. The grilled eggplant over salad, with their pickled veg and tahini dressing, is a perfect meal. Real pita (freshly baked and puffed up), dipped in olive oil and zaatar seasoning. Fabulous! Went to try it out after hearing good things and it didn't disappoint. My husband is not a falafel lover, so he begrudgingly went and stated that he really loved his beef and lamb pita and would totally order it again. Woot!! The pitas from the wood fired oven are amazing, they put those flat crappy store bought ones to shame. Fluffy, warm and soft--I didn't know they could be that good! I was a little confused at first on how to order and what came with what, but now that I know the deal, I'll be back with regularity. I had the chicken pita with added feta and it was dreamy good. Great sized portion, it was incredibly filling. The chicken had that great char grilled taste, it wasn't soggy, bland or chewy. I loved every bite. I was so full, I couldn't really eat my cauliflower with harissa, but I brought it home to enjoy later. I love that they toss the components and fill with a bit and add sauce, fill with a bit and add sauce, so that it's not just a bunch of stuff with sauce on top. My husband ordered the fries with his pita and really liked those, too. I'm mystified why there are ANY bad reviews! Yes, it was a little spendy. $33 for two pitas, cauliflower, fries and drinks ( try the rose lemonade!) but they are making so many things in house, I get it and appreciate it. Just GO! read more

So incredibly yummy and fresh! Each time we've gone, we have tried something new and have been even more satisfied. The pitas are amazing and made right behind the counter. The veggies and side dishes are unique and flavorful. This time we added the blackberry lemonade slushy and the fries and they will both be necessary with all future orders. Enroute to the Bay Area from Seattle, and stopped in Ashland for a random quick lunch. So glad we stumbled on this spot, what a memorable meal. Everything was fresh, excellent falafel, a rare healthy and quick spot on the road. I'm sad I'm not likely to get back soon. Not only were all four of us very pleased with our choices, but we also appreciated the sustainable packaging. In the age of Covid there's so much plastic container waste and we loved the cool cardboard boxes and compostable cutlery and straws. read more

I have been here twice. First time I had the chicken pita. It was excellent. I walked in a few minutes after close, but the friendly staff served me anyway. Nice folks working here. I went back a second time to grab a quick bite and ended up ordering the same thing. It was a disappointment. Soggy, chicken was not nearly as good as the first. Something was off. The pitas a quite large. Also, it is $12.50 for a pita sandwich, before a tip, no drink. If you want fries with a dipping sauce, add $4. Family of four is going to spend over $60 for some sandwiches, fries and drinks. Typical Ashland. I just don't get it. I go to Bend and get the most delicious food for $10. Having recently returned to Ashland from Israel, I can say the the falafel, tachina, and pita here are first rate. The salad bowl with falafel is a bargain since it is big enough that we share it between two people. The workers behind the counter are very pleasant and accommodate a host of customers' special requests. I would recommend sticking with the vegetarian choices here, since they are fresh and very tasty. The combination lamb/beef is not very good and in fact ruined the taste of the salads. read more

The way the restaurant is designed you first think you've stepped into a Chipotle that is Mediterranean theme. However the decor and menu style the food is legit, every topping and side we chose was very flavorful. We tried the falafel, the shawarma, a bowl, and all of it was extremely flavorful and well done. Three things I really loved. They bake their own pita fresh in an open fire pizza style oven. They have a rotisserie for the meats. They have a real water station with full size pint glasses if you opt out of their other beverages. I'm a big water drinker and appreciate a full size beverage. I have picky kids but everyone left with smiles. Definitely recommend. read more

I have never reviewed any restaurant before, but I was so incensed by the bad reviews for this place that I had to comment. This is a Falafel place. It is not fancy. It is not meant to be. It is delicious (the best falafel and pita I've ever had). The price is fair. The food, everything on their menu, like the salad with eggplant is wonderful. We asked questions about what was on the menu and it was explained. They were very friendly and we will be back many times. Even my wife who does not really like Falafel, really loved it and wants to go back again. 5 Star French fancy food this is not, but if you want great Falafel this is the place in Ashland to go. If you like, you can add a side of your choice but a heads up that the bowl includes 3 sides already. One thing I love about Ashland, is that excellent food keeps popping up everywhere, and Falafel Republic is one of those places. This is my favorite new lunch spot. I've been here about a dozen times and I'm never disappointed. My favorite dish is the shawarma salad. Really enjoyed two meals at Falafel Republic when we were in Ashland earlier in June. The chicken bowl was delicious and packed with a bunch of different flavors, including three sides and hummous. They weren't really doing indoor seating when we were there so the inside isn't much to look at, but I'm really glad we tried the food via takeout. To be fair, we ended up here by accident. I was craving Mexican, however that restaurant is no longer there. Starving we decided to try it. Honestly they had me at handing me the piece of pita dipped in oil and spices to nibble on while we ordered. Our food was fabulous. Even though the serving was generous I wanted to keep eating more, I wasn't ready for it to be over when I took the last bite. Will definitely be back. Ordered from here a while back when they first opened. I may try them again now that they have been open a while. Prices are somewhat higher than I expected. However prices are similar to other restaurants in the area. The pita and hummus dish was amazing. Some of the flavors in the falafel are different than other Mediterranean places but again this is most likely chef style or different authentic regions of Mediterranean foods. read more
