Wonderful service and food for all dietary needs! My partner is vegan and it's one of our favorite spots because we can both find something.

A hole in the wall, but without the broth to back it up. Every good ramen place is graded by the strength of their broth, and not necessarily the decor or atmosphere. All you care about are intense, rich flavors drawn out of the pork bones with a jab of salty/umami greatness right in the jaw. This place didn't make the cut. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with pork. The noodles were good and the slice of pork was tasty, albeit briefly (small portion). The broth unfortunately was watery, bland, generically creamy, and not well-seasoned. The menu had plenty of Korean options. The galbi appetizer was the highlight of the meal. The seared rib meat was deliciously caramelized, gingery, and hot, right off the grill. Overall I am not excited to go back because, like I said, if you want to be a hole in the wall, the food needs to be a slam dunk. To be honest, the staff was completely amazing and the food even better. The edamame, the amazing miso soup, best in the world. I have no complaints. Nice spot for some decent ramen, but not what it used to be. Been stopping here for years on my yearly trip from Monterey, CA, to Seattle. Seems like they've gone heavier on the salt in the tonkatsu. We just had this from a previous restaurant and they make it so much better here! Atmosphere - Very small local restaurant with only indoor seating. Cool tea mugs, see picture. Bathrooms outside, shared with other tenants which makes it hard to maintain. They both ran out of paper towels when we were there. Street parking, but we found a free parking lot nearby, see picture. Closed Sunday and Monday, see Yelp for hours for the other 5 days. Service - Excellent, I did not get the person's name, but he was the only front of house employee. Did a GREAT job managing ALL the tables by himself. This is a great local ramen spot in downtown! The food comes out so fast, it's reasonably priced, and it is so filling!! Hiro js a casual hang out that is popular with the locals. The best thing on the menu is the tonkstu ramen which is fantastic! They give you so much ramen! It's the best on a colder Ashland day. They do have some weird hours. Always double check if they are open because they close between lunch and dinner. read more

Came here with my son after soccer practice and he talked about it for days. Their kids ramen comes with just noodles and broth and it was so delicious- he had the shoyu ramen. We also got edamame and calamari. The edamame was good and salty, just the way my little guy likes it, and the calamari was crunchy and tender. Our ramen was delicious as well. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the two times we went (within 4 days of each other) they only had one server and it seems to get a bit chaotic when it's a full restaurant. Came here on a road trip in December. This was one of the only restaurants that was open later in the evening. I was hesitant to come to a Ramen spot this far away from LA. Let me just tell you that they did a fantastic job. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, being the only people in the restaurant. This only meant that service was great, kind, and attentive. Definitely a relaxed vibe in the restaurant, which was what we needed after a long day of driving. My grandpa and I both ordered the Tonkotsu spicy. This was my grandpa's first time having Ramen, he absolutely loved it. Later in our dining experience, we ordered the veggie Ramen to go for my grandma. A few points that I agree with previous yelpers: portions and flavor The portions here are great! Totally worth the price. I ordered the pork broth with pork for the protein. I also substituted the noodles for gluten free noodles. So much broth and noodles, definitely enough to share! I agree with some of the other yelpers that their broth isn't super flavorful. I didn't knock down a star because I was just visiting Ashland for the day and I am unaware of what other ramen options are in this area. I think it would be unfair to compare their ramen to other cities like LA or SF where there are a million of ramen places to choose from. Their broth wasn't amazing, but it fulfilled my craving for something warm and soothing for the rainy weather! I ordered takeout, but the restaurant is open for social-distanced dine-in seating. As much as I enjoy the dish, it's hard to find a place where they offer anything else besides pork - here, they have chicken and tofu in addition to it. Overpriced, bland and a place to skip. Yelp brought us here. Don't be like us! Overpriced, a very minimalistic but confusing menu is posted outside, the prices are quite high. We decided to go ahead since it's one of those cold weather days that needed to be fixed with ramen. The interior is also very minimalistic, there are only a few tables for dine in (COVID-19 restrictions in place). The place has a lot of indoor succulents that are pretty to look at while you wait for your order. We ordered, sat and waited. Suddenly, it smelled of bleach. An overpowering smell engulfed the place. Good thing our food wasn't out yet. Our food arrives in waves after a while of waiting, the restaurant wasn't at all crowded. One ramen bowl is served, we ordered 2. Here comes the menu becoming tricky. We were under the impression that a Tonkotsu ramen would come with Chashu pork, it did not. What ended up was both our ramen had 2 eggs instead of pork and egg. First dissatisfaction. Takoyaki and chicken teriyaki bowl came next, lacking one chicken teriyaki bowl. Chicken teriyaki was something I did not expect to turn out bad. I mean, even the $5 Chinese food place has better quality and taste than that of here. It came with steamed broccoli. No picture, it didn't come out right. But, my child was hungry and would only eat rice and chicken so he ate a few bites. Takoyaki was at least edible, there's maybe a plankton size tako in there. The white and black sauce was awkward with it. My guess is, Kewpie mayo and teriyaki sauce. Karaage arrives with the other Tonkotsu ramen bowl. Karaage. Deep fried chicken in light batter. I think they forgot to season the chicken and the batter, even a sprinkle of salt would have made it better. Here comes the ramen review! Have you tried boiling water? Putting eggs, noodles, scallions and bean sprouts in it? Maybe add a little milk so it turns white? That was it. That's what it tasted like. For a place with a Japanese name, I don't think they've ever heard or used dashi. Nothing was flavorful that our hangry mode has escalated after a few bites. I've read reviews saying don't compare this place to San Francisco, Portland or LA or other cities for ramen. I won't compare it to those places. I would compare it to a homecooked top ramen. At least that has flavor. This one does not. If you want ramen, maybe drive to Medford and find a place there. Or cook at home if you really have no choice. Quick ramen recipe: boil water, put instant ramen flavor packet, put egg in boiling water for 4 mins. Remove egg from boiling water. Add noodles and boil for 3mins. Turn heat off. Peel egg and dump in noodles. Add a little soy sauce, milk, bean sprouts, scallions if you have them. Probably costs a fraction of the ramen from this place. * writing this review makes me mad and upset that I have be reminded of how I got blamed for choosing such a crappy restaurant that had 4 1/2 stars on Yelp. read more
