I love this store! I'm not in this area much and I was hungry so I went into Falletti. I went to the back and found a huge PoBoy that was huge and stuffed with meat. Best part $5! the price for basic produce (think potatoes, onions, etc.) is fine but a lot of items (yogurt, vegetarian meat substitutes, sliced bread, etc) are way overpriced. they do carry some esoteric items like enoki mushrooms and a pretty good selection of cheese / ice cream for such a small store though. for high-end groceries, bi-rite, whole foods, and gus's are a lot better. for regular stuff, lucky and safeway both have a much better selection for much cheaper. falletti doesn't have a lot going for it other than being in a busy neighborhood (schlok's and the farmer's market / DMV are next door) with a convenient parking lot. for some reason the cashiers here make mistakes more often than other places, so make sure you check your receipt. read more

Falletti Foods is the best of the best and it's not close. First class everything and the quality of their food is unmatched. I live in Elk Grove but, I'm from Sausalito. My brother had a stroke so I'm taking care of him now. My life changed in an instant. I'm not complaining, he is my big brother and the best big brother in the world. It's my pleasure to be by his side. I order most of his food through Instacart. I saw Falletti Foods and it brought back great memories. They have always been exceptional and a model for businesses who operate in our communities. They treat their customers like I have rarely seen before. They go above and beyond, every time. Tick Falletti is cut from a different cloth. He believes in getting what you pay for. He believes in a fair shake for regular folks. Top quality at a fair price, while treating every customer with respect and dignity. It's a culture of decently root in goodwill towards everyone that comes through their doors. It's a place where folks laugh and smile and just enjoy the space and place where you don't feel cheated or taken advantage of. These folks are decent people and it shows in the love they have for their customers and community. You have to just go there and ask for Sam or Skyler or any of the staff. I ordered a meat package today and I was undercharged? I called and talked to Skyler in the meat department and they were so kind and gracious and decent and told me it was ok? What?? They care about the customer. They are a family business and I wanted to make sure they were paid fully and the appreciation was what this business is all about. I hope everyone shops at Falletti Foods. The are a community treasure and it reminds me of the good ole days when folks shook hands and that was all that was needed. they have a great selection of items and always have the things i'm looking for. plus side for being connected to RT. the cashiers here are the worst though. i've never felt more dismissed from a group of cashiers before in my life. they definitely act like they do not like you and prove that they don't. they push you to the side, don't ask if you want a bag, and crumple up your receipt before even asking if you needed it. i buy quite a lot of things for work and very much need to be reimbursed for it so it'd be nice to not have you crumple my receipts before asking if i need it. will continue coming here but be warned that the service isn't great read more

While some items can be expensive ($8.99 for a cauliflower what the whaaaat?), I like Fallettis for a few reasons: -Proximity to the DMV Sunday farmers market. So convenient when you need just one or two ingredients you can't source from the market. -Obscure items that you only need for that once-in-a-while dish or inaccessible Gwyneth Paltrow recipe. Like pomegranate molasses or cashew nut cream. -British sweets section. For anytime I'm craving a treat from the motherland like Terry's Chocolate Orange mmmm. -Cheese offcuts basket: this is my favorite part. We were next door and decided to stop by. This is a small group store but has some pretty cool stuff. First they had fresh flowers. Everything is so well organized and clean. Pretty good frozen section. They also had these chips that are hard to find. There's really great produce. The meat department looks fresh and clean. Overall great experience. I just had one of the most unfortunate and disgusting experiences at Falletti Foods. Everything was going fine- selections OK etc. But when I got to the checkout stand there was something wrong. The male cashier seemed to be in a daze, having to price check every other simple item- like pineapples, raspberries, etc.. But the worst part was he obviously had a cold or something and kept wiping his nose with his open hand and then continuing to touch my groceries. No towel, no sanitizer, nothing just his snot all over the groceries. I haven't wiped down my groceries in years now, but I will be doing so as soon I get home from this visit. My first experience with Falletti and their staff has not been gracious or friendly. after moving to the neighborhood three months I have visited the establishment four times. The second time I was charge twice for an item which I went ahead and just shrugged off. The third time I was standing in line waiting to be called up while the cashier was playing on her/his/they/... phone. I ended up just walking up after a few minutes later my forth and if I can help it my last time at the store the exact same thing happen. I would feel different if the store can provide items that were not found a block or two away at a possibly lower price. If you would rather save money and have a better selection and support a establishment that cares than I would go somewhere else. We as the patrons should voice our honest opinions especially when it has something to do with our neighborhood. read more

Falletti Foods is a clean, nicely laid out grocery store with a selection of fresh produce options and unique packed goods. I always enjoy wandering the aisles here to look at the food (I am a foodie if you couldn't tell). The staff goes out of their way to be kind, like when I was there before and a staff member in the grocery aisle cut me a slice of peach I was eyeballing. Despite all these great qualities, admittedly I haven't bought many items here because unfortunately its a bit out of my price range. The prices aren't absurd (especially not within the context of SF) but they can be a bit of a splurge. That doesn't deter me from enjoying a visit here a few times a month and I would recommend it as a solid premium grocery spot for folks who like in the area. read more

Sadly, this ain't the Falletti's that used to be where Lucky is now on Fulton & Masonic. The prices used to be reasonable, the feel of the place was like a European market with huge meat, fish, poultry counters (and tremendous selection) and an enormous wine department. Their customer service rocked! Everyone was so *happy* with an "at your service" attitude" I thought they spiked the water cooler with Prozac. This new Falletti's is like a highly-edited and very expensive version of the older and better store (that used to be called Petrini's). I can't shop Falletti's now; it's just too sad - and expensive. read more

Despite the high-end food price point, what you receive food-wise is of tremendous value. My daughter, Joy took me here, so we can eat high quality food without having to sweat cooking for hours at home. I must confess I was quite confused where to pay for my hot food and where to pay for my French wine, 2005 Varan Sancere. Apparently, there are two retail businesses inside Falletti's where the hot food-Delessio Market and grocery store/wine/beer-Falletti have separate cashier kiosks. Joy pointed this fact out to me, otherwise I would have stood in line paying at the wrong register! I took my choice of hot food, Sancere wine to Joy's house and consumed all of it. The roast poulet was tender, succulent, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The steamed veggies were perfectly cooked, plump and juicy as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the store layout, the elegant food preparation, and the food presentation for each department within the two stores. BTW: Joy purchased Delessio's heinously sinful chocolate cake from Uncle John's birthday. We inhaled the cake-GONE! read more

Living in NoPa, I've been shopping at Falletti Foods for five years running and I have to say --even now during the chaos of Shelter-in-Place it's been such a consistent pleasant errand every time I come! Especially compared to the horrendous lines and crowds at grocery stores lately (::cough cough:: Safeway on Webster). The butcher counter is always stocked with great fresh cuts of meat and the employees are always so helpful and friendly. The fruits and vegetables always look crisp and delicious. Though the store isn't huge--I've consistently been able to find Asian cooking staples here such as won ton wrappers, chili garlic sauce, tamarind paste, bok choy, bean sprouts, and enoki mushrooms! Not to mention Newman's Own pizza and all the cheese and cashew milk yogurt you could ever want. And you can grind your own coffee beans! Plus there's always parking! Thank you Falletti Foods for always being so dependable and excellent--even during a pandemic. read more

As far as shelter in place shopping goes, it was quick mid-day on a weekday, some staples were out of stock, but the fresh meat looked good. I don't know whether it's pasture raised so probably not.. I came in knowing it would be pricier (which it for sure is!), but I thought there would be more local stuff or at least better quality packaged goods. The brioche brand is the same one you'll find at grocery outlet (it's not that good) and many other items were lower quality. I used to be a buyer for a grocery store and a produce distributor, and there aren't many good quality things here. The produce was well displayed, but it looked like they got it from the SF produce market (where cheap ass restaurants and stores get their produce.. it looks ok, and sometimes is fresh, but doesn't taste good). It seems like their specialty section is only a little island in the middle, with generic corner store stuff everywhere else. I also didn't notice much organic produce. Plus for carrying lots of varieties of beckmanns bread though! They're actually local and probably didn't arrive frozen like most of the other bread.. they had semifreddis or acme or something, but I don't like either of those much. read more

Falletti's isn't really the kind of market where you'd do your entire grocery shopping. Sure, a rare few probably do but most would find that to be both too expensive and too limiting. However, it's the ideal place to pick up a few things here or there, or to supplement your pantry needs. I usually stop by Falleti's to grab some fruit and produce, some beer, or maybe a few vegan items. Their produce selection is pretty solid on essentials and the quality is very good. Their beer selection isn't enormous or particularly impressive, but you can likely find something for everyone. The vegan selection is reasonable for the size of the store, stocking things like tempeh, tofu, vegan 'meats', frozen goods, and even ice cream. But the biggest convenience factor is the location. For those living in the area, it's extremely well-placed and central to normal everyday going-ons. Sure Bi-rite is nearby but their selection is even smaller and certainly even more expensive. Falletti's is the perfect spot if you're too lazy to go to Trader Joe's and just need a couple things. read more

I witnessed unacceptable behavior today from a white deli worker (in an American flag mask) speaking very disrespectfully to a non white couple ordering sandwiches. They left mid order due to the employee's rudeness, and I can't say I blame them. I informed the manager of what I witnessed, and he was very receptive. I hope that the employee is disciplined at the very least. I've always enjoyed shopping here, but if she is at the counter next time, I'm putting my basket down and leaving. I give three stars because although her behavior was unacceptable, I trust management will honor its non white and non bigoted customers and employees and not subject us to her anymore. read more

I like coming here and have been a customer for a number of years since it was originally located where Lucky's currently is. It has been and still is a good neighborhood grocery. Being open today on Thanksgiving was a plus. It was nice to see they had cut up fresh turkey this year and had a choice other than a whole bird or breast, which is all most stores offer. I wanted a thigh for some gumbo this Thanksgiving. Given the limited space they have, there is a good selection of all the regular staples and fresh veggies you may need. They also look to support many of the local producers in the area with items such as fresh bread, baked goods, cheeses, coffee, and salsas. I always find that a plus where I shop, especially now with so many local businesses struggling. On a final note, every worker in the store was especially nice today saying hello and asking if I needed anything. Considering they were working on Thanksgiving when many of us aren't, it made for a pleasant start to the day. read more

What a rip off this place is. Everything is marked up 60+ percent of even Whole Foods! The only plus here is the Peet's Coffee and Bank of America next door. My Mom was in town from NYC and she said "this place is more expensive than Hong Kong." Hong Kong is the most expensive city in the world by most standards. On Haight St., there's many groceries that are much more reasonable. I don't see this place surviving. The family pictures on the wall are a bunch of bull crap. Great store, especially for the baked goods. There are multiple sections in this market that sell cakes, cookies and other local goods that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Sure it is a little pricey here, but I think of it as a collection of fine foods, that is similar to Bi Rite nearby. We recently came here with a pregnant friend of mine and we all had the cravings. Especially when their bakery goods have crazy cavity causing names like vanilla brioche, chocolate caramel tart, and fluffy fresh baked flan (pour your own topping).I circled the dessert section three times, hoping they'd refill some of their empty baskets. My cheek pressed up against the glass, I could mentally taste the neatly packaged cookie dough and chocolate fudge. Since today's trip to Faletti's, my sweet tooth has been thanking me all day for the dessert porn.Yeeeeeeeees!!!!!!!!!! Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. And Pillsbury Dough boy and Nestle could have some new gooey competition for Jessica's "homemade" cookie title. But the more sensible and sane portion of me does not share the same sentiments. With my 2007 resolution to live a "healthier lifestyle," my "healthy" voice is not impressed. Not one bit. I was forced to deal with this much lounder and LAMER side of me throughout my trip today. My healthier ego threatened to walk out, during the second lap around the bakery. I eased it's arguments with promises of "I won't be long," and "I'm heading over to the fruit and vegetable section right now." We compromised. I got to stay, if I agreed to avoid the sugary sections.Scrambling down the aisles to the steady impatient foot tapping of my 2007 healthier half; I was able to make some quick assessments about Fallettis. 1.) The butcher and fish section are both impressive and tempting. Dungeness crab. Fresh Salmon. Turkey cold-cuts. I will be back. 2.) The cheese section is pretty damn pretty. I've been trying to ease away from mozzarella and cheddar, but this place doesn't make it easy to cut back on cheese. 3.) The produce section is radiant. Fresh hues everywhere. It had me filling up bags that the check-out guy and I both knew I didn't have the muscles for. Even despite me sporting the whole "I work out, I really do, see I'm wearing work-out clothes" outfit, which I love to front on the weekend. Crisp juicy plum tomatoes, ripened, thin skinned green grapes, and just right bananas. Falletti's makes eating healthier a little easier....though also more expensive. 4.) Falletti's is not cheap. One particular qualm with Falletti's was excitedly rushing to their tofu section, only to find my favorite vegetarian sausage roll NOWHERE. ??????? gasp ????????? What?That stuff is a staple for me, and can be a firm deal breaker when it comes to grocery stores. I can live off of th stuff; but the 'Seven days of sausage' was nowhere to be found. I was also disappointed in their yogurt section. Nothing I would swoon over or drop my granola in. In fact due to Falletti's small size, there's probably a number of things you won't find here. But being that this place is so close, paired with the lingering sweet aroma of that vanilla brioche (which I managed to convince my health nagging alter-ego to allow) I won't cry too hard over no sticky soy sausage and goat milk yogurt. I like their fresh vegetables, but I have a real problem with the logistics of entering and exiting the store post Covid. It's been a year now and they rarely have lines to enter, yet they only have one entrance and exit. The entrance closest to Broderick and Oak remains closed. What this means is that patrons entering the store have to walk past folks who are at the check out line. This system isnt really compatible with social distancing, is it? They need to go back to separate entrance and exit doors. read more

Since today (11/7/2006) was the opening day, I'm giving it 5 stars mostly because I am sooooo excited that a quality small grocery store with a renowned butcher shop has opened in my neighborhood.
