We came for a breakfast/brunch. The location has a pretty large area for seating. Also a counter top seating. Happy to see live acoustic music. There is quite a bit on the menu. And lucky to have mimosas! Now, the one item that I would like to see improve, staffing. Location was maybe 1/2 full. 4-5 young ladies walking around. Took 20 minutes to come over to take our drink order. Drinks came quick. Then another 10-15 minutes to take our food order. The food came out pretty quick. However, we didn't have silverware. Had to ask. Then we never were asked about additional drinks. One more small item, air conditioning was set for a high temperature. It was hot in there. Enough to leave sweat on the seats. Food was very good. Would we come back? I think the staffing left enough of a bad "taste" that we may be back. read more

Fried chicken sandwich (over fried) and turkey club (salty, not great). Don't love it. Very salty. My work trip takes me to this town... and I am struggling to find really good eats here. I was visiting friends nearby and we drove the 20ish minutes to Angry Egg, their favorite breakfast spot nearby. I was tickled to see it's the sister location to a spot not far from my hometown, although I haven't been to that location yet. Anyhoo. I had the Emma Wrap, which checked off basically every breakfast food item list. Bacon, eggs, avocado, salsa. It came with perfectly crisp and delicious tater tots. Big hit altogether. The staff was friendly and the place seemed quite busy but no one looked frazzled or disappointed. It felt comfortable and homey. I would definitely come back the next time I'm around. read more

Stopped in for breakfast and the food was great. Blueberry pie French toast, simple breakfast and the sweet potato hash were ordered at the table. Each dish was prepared well and was yummy! Second time eating here and this time I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I really should have returned it because it was awful! The chicken was "woody" making the texture so rubbery it tasted raw! And to add insult to injury it was drowning in so much coleslaw it was hard to find the chicken piece. I am pretty sure the chicken was the red bag chicken from Aldi which explains the texture and size. The service was quick. The fries were good but not salted. I want to give The Angry Egg 2 a five star review because I love so much about what they are doing. They support local businesses by bringing in locally baked bread, local meats and produce. And their food has a definitely good. And the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is fun. The owners clearly work hard and I applaud that. But here's the thing, I'm a food snob and that means my food out needs to be as good as or better than what I make at home. So why not 5 stars? My pancake was "bready", not light and fluffy. And I'm really not ok with passing off deep-fried cubed potatoes as Home Fries. You need to call them something else. This has become a trend at breakfast joints all over and it's not ok. A homefried potato is hand cut and fried on a griddle. I will not waver on this point. Other than these two points, I totally recommend the Angry Egg 2! read more

Went here this morning for breakfast. Started w coffee of the day (hazelnut) which was piping hot and flavorful. Husbands had Hosmer soda which he loved. For breakfast, I had the avocado toast which was on a thick toast that was probably under appreciated because the rest of the dish had so many layers of flavor. Really good! And the eggs were cooked to my liking (over easy). Husband had a very hardy egg bowl, after asking our waitress for guidance. (I always hate when they won't give you a suggestion but she did!). He described it as "overloaded" with meats, cheeses and egg! It was a very filling breakfast so we skipped lunch. All the staff were very friendly. Would definitely go again. read more

Discovered this place a year ago and it was so great we made the over an hour drive back 8 or so times in the last year! Not sure what happened, but breakfast was awful and if it was our first time there we wouldn't go back. So disappointed! Was excited for a breakfast burrito and the online ordering option was very convenient. However, I could not eat my Emma burrito due to the rotting avocado (I think it was actually guacamole) on my burrito. I ignored the fact that there wasn't any bacon on my nearly $10.00 burrito, but couldn't stomach the weird flavor...when I looked closer it was evident that the avocado had gone bad and was used anyway...as it was brown/gray throughout the burrito (not just a spot or two). There's a large difference between oxidation (still not great to serve, in my opinion, and going bad) this was bad. The three stars are for the friendliness at pickup, the okay other breakfast sandwich (bacon-which may have been Canadian bacon or ham? And was full of fat- egg, and cheese on an English muffin), and the tater tots that were surprisingly full of flavor! I'll try and take into consideration that it was a Sunday and fairly busy. Although most tables were full with a few empty but still in need of clearing we were seated right away. Our sever was pleasant and took our drink orders. Two coffees and a water. She brought back two waters and a coffee. An easy enough fix and she brought the second cup right away. We asked for silverware which she acknowledged but never brought it back. I got up and got them myself. Ditto straws. She took our food order which came back at a reasonable time considering the volume. That was the last time we saw her. The food: I wonder if the fry grease wasn't hot enough as the fries were very greasy and felt firm as though they were undercooked. I ordered the Ruben which I ate half of before realizing it was missing the sauerkraut. Our other meal, a chicken sandwich was fine but both meals were repeating on us during the drive home. Being near the kitchen we were privy to conversations customers probably shouldn't hear. Like scraping mis-prepared items off an order before delivering to patron Or how they were out of many items. Steaks, milk, etc. We'll happily take another drive to Bennington but it's unlikely we'll eat here again. read more

Came here on a whim for breakfast after voting for the primary. The place is nicely decorated though humid when we ate here. The service is a little slow due to the fact that only 2 ladies working. Bussing, taking orders and serving. Saw customers waiting to be seated left. Now the food was good. It came out hot. My bacon cheeseburger omelette was tasty. The Angry Egg 2 opened at 467 Main St in Bennington, VT very recently. This restaurant serves breakfast all day and lunch and this is their second location with the original location in Manchester, CT. The place is spacious and spread out with new booths, tables, wood flooring, and local artwork on the walls. Most of the ingredients used here are from regional suppliers including from Henry's Meat Market up the street. The menu offerings are very similar to the The Angry Egg in Manchester, CT with slightly different pricing. They offer the traditional breakfast fare including egg dishes, omelettes, skillets, pancakes, French toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast sides, Baronet Coffee, and more. The lunch offerings are sandwiches (with fries), salads, and soups. The prices are moderate here. I stopped in here close to mid-afternoon and took a seat at an open booth. I could tell they were already slammed earlier in the day. A waitress came over to take my order and I chose the Chicken & Waffles ($13 plus tax) and a glass of water. It took about 20 minutes for my food to come out, served by one of the owners. However, the chicken & waffles was alright. The waffles was the standard skinny round waffle (4 quarter pieces) topped with sprinkled powder sugar (no whipped cream?) and not the thick Belgian waffle I was expecting. The waffles were barely warm. The two pieces of thick deep fried breaded chicken were very hot topped with chipotle mayo drizzle, very chewy inside. The fresh berries of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries were a nice touch. I dipped the food with breakfast syrup provided. As I was almost finished eating, one of the staff looked over from the counter and could tell I wasn't thrilled and said that it was only their second full day and they were just working off the menu to try to make things. I was told to come back in a month when things should be all set. The waitress I had wasn't superfriendly and when I was done, told me to come over to the counter to pay implying she did not feel like coming over to my table to bring the check. The restaurant was actually closed already when I finished brunch. I will give The Angry Egg 2 another shot hopefully when things get ironed out at this new Bennington spot. Here's a suggestion: Dedicated staff from The Angry Egg CT location should really come to this location and properly train the staff here, from the food quality/preparation and consistency between restaurants (make every dish on the menu) to friendlier (not angry) service in the front of the house. read more

We really enjoyed our breakfast (the music was fun and the noise level was nice. Chicken (really good) and waffles was terrific and flavorful. Served with a nice side of fresh berries. The home fried potatoes were so yummy and had a good amount of seasoning. Loved the Angry Egg Roll. What a terrific idea...a crisp wrap with scrambled egg and meat. Perfect size paired with a fruit cup. Also, coffee was good as was service. Phyllis up front was doing a good job balancing grumpy customers who were annoyed about the wait. It's a hard time keeping staff on board. Most service industries are having a hard time staffing up. Let's try to be patient...they have a comfy couch for waiting for your table. read more

I am truly appalled by what I observed at this restaurant. I saw a member of the cooking staff eating food with his bare hands that he was preparing for a customer. I observed another staff member wiping sweat off his face and then plating food with his bare hands. I asked for a very simple modifcation of the food I ordered and they claimed I was lying and never requested that. the cook looked irritated and then haphazardly prepared a new dish and left off some ingredients and also did not cook it properly. I wound up throwing my food out and left. This place is disgraceful. if you place any value in the quality of the food you eat you will want to avoid this establishment. With the kitchen staffs blatant disregard for food safety i would not be the least bit shocked if there were major outbreaks of foodborne illness here. read more

Meh. It was OK. The menu sounds much better than it was executed. French toast was dry. Egg scramble was dry. The biscuit & bread toast were wonderful. This is perhaps the only restaurant in Vermont that doesn't provide real maple syrup with the meal - their standard is flavored corn syrup, which is really bizarre and NOT Vermont-y. Service was alright - this is a relatively new place & it's covid times, so there's plenty of room to be forgiving with them. There was also an unnecessary amount of plastic used... we were given three plastic cups of ketchup even though we didn't ask for them. I can see the curb appeal, and maybe try it for yourself, but as a local I'll admit that there are certainly better restaurants in town if you're visiting the area. read more
