So I'm not a Vermonter and definitely not a Benningtonian...actually my first trip to Vermont visiting friends. Was kinda shocked to see a diner and even more shocked when I drove up and was transported back in time. Like this is a real old time diner with the counter and stools and juke boxes at the tables! What a pleasant surprise. The best part of course was the service AND the food. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were hefty hefty hefty. I did the bagel melt with bacon instead of ham and they did it up right!! I ate every morsel including the mildly seasoned well cooked home fries. The bagel had the right toasted crunch to it, the sandwich was not oily and thus my clothes were spared. The egg was perfectly fried and the bacon lover in me was in heaven because it was not salty and my extra bacon was the right portion. My friend's plate was also done well and he ate every bit. I took off one star for the following: The booths are not for us larger people and so it was quite a squeeze (in and out) and I should have sat on a counter stool but that did not look any more comfortable for the tush. Also, the entrance was not ramped and thus not handicapped accessible. Otherwise, I would have given the place a 5 and if ever in Vermont again, will definitely stop by...I may even go by again before I leave the state. Great meal and experience.

Amazing little diner!!! For starters, the interior was very quaint and mostly original, the bathrooms were very clean, (something you don't always get with diners). The staff were also very friendly, you could tell they put passion into the food they made and the service they gave. The chicken fajita omelette was amazing, very well cooked and flavorful with some good hot sauce. The home fries were amazing as well, very fresh. I recommend this place if you're in Bennington, or are on the way up north for a ski trip, it's such a great little spot!

This is our third time in the area, once again our meal was fabulous, I should've but I did order a piece of coconut cream pie, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. I've not tasted coconut cream pie that good since I was a child and my mother used to make it homemade. This diner is very cute and the staff does an outstanding job. I will always drive an hour out of my way to eat here.

"If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!" The restaurant was built in 1948 in New Jersey as a railroad dining-car styled restaurant and was moved here in the 1950s. Not much has changed. They have a HUGE menu and it seemed like most of the folks in here at 7 am on a weekday were locals. Which was just fine for me. It was pretty quiet so the waitress didn't mind me sitting in a booth by myself. When I left an hour later, it still wasn't that busy. I looked over the menu, looked over the jukebox (Johnny Cash, Lee Greenwood and Garth Brooks on the same page?) before ordering an omelet. Quickly prepared and served with delicious toast and amazing home fries. Very well stuffed omelet and yes, I did eat a couple of the potatoes because I couldn't help myself. The coffee was great and I went through three cups of it before cutting myself off. Friendly, cozy, local. Stop in! [Review 18458 overall - 58 in Vermont - 1980 of 2022.]

Not to be dramatic but this was the best diner experience I've ever had in my life! They have a small waiting area and will let you know when a booth is ready for the next party. They also have seats at the counter that you can help yourself to if available. We decided to order a lot since the locals we met waiting said this place is amazing. The inside is very cute and cozy. We ordered the eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy and a crunch berry pancake. All were so delicious! The coffee was also great. Would absolutely come back if we are in the area again!

A cozy place to get breakfast and yeah, it will get really cozy in the mornings so plan accordingly. It was a Sunday morning so I waited 30-40 minutes before getting sat down simply because there were no seats left even at the counter. I even watched some childish people argue over one of the chairs. People must really like the food here. Service was quick despite being extremely busy and this diner served diner quality food. So yes it was nothing special but that's what diners are for. I expect this and nothing else. Good job. My biscuits and gravy tasted just like how it does when the Army serves it in the dining facility. I approved of this meal. No shortage of sausage and the gravy wasn't too thick. Biscuits were dry enough to soak up this gravy so it all works out very well. My eggs were eggs. Again, no secrets here. The only secret was my girlfriend's omelet. She asked for Swiss Cheese and she barely got any. From the outside you would hope it was one of those omelets where the surprise is inside the box as you can see, it just looks like a plain egg. There was no shortage of bacon and spinach however, the cheese did look a little light for anyone's liking. It looks like it was sprinkled into the egg like a dash of salt. I'm sure being extremely busy with a long line of people waiting to be seated could have been a factor but it only takes a second. Hopefully this was a one time thing. Other than that, Blue Benn is busy for a reason! Local favorite and tourists can't find anywhere else to eat in the morning. I'd come again next time I go camping and don't feel like inhaling campfire smoke all morning which is exactly how I ended up here in the first place.

Fun breakfast spot. Hearty food and reasonable prices. Suggest getting there early with the locals because this is a very popular eatery.

Flavor on the food was just lacking. Even the Vermont cheddar cheese was bland and only a whisper of sharpness. The home made chips good but lacked anything special. The true problem of this place is the ownership/management. We went there little after it opened. To see a table with a 5 gallon bucket of utensils and servers doing their side work on a table you have to walk past to get to anywhere in the seating area. Then we come to the management/owner. My biggest pet peeve is doing the books or daily paperwork in the guest area. You have an office or a place away from your guests. Not in full view and with in ear shot of your guests. And not in a place where sound carries. The BIGGEST complaint is the language. You are the leader of your staff. You set an example for the behavior and attitude of your staff. Dropping F-BOMBS and other vulgar language is not at anytime acceptable. Clearly the servers knew it and didn't thankfully follow your lead. This is NOT your buddies garage or basement. You are having people come in and hearing your language and seeing and clearly hearing your behavior I can not recommend going here. If it was based on food maybe. But clearly the ownership and leadership will keep me away from here. Such potential wasted by such poor work ethics.

Kelli's was one of our favorite spots to fo early on. The vibe is laid back, staff is always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it seems to have changed in the past 6 months or so. Fried items tasted either overly scorched or like the oil had not been changed recently enough. I am usually very forgiving on food but there was a special grilled cheese dish my husband got that I tried one bite of and was absolutely inedible. Even the waitress wrinkled her nose at it when we returned it. We kept coming back, hoping these were only occasional issues, but inevitably at least half the ordered items were disappointing at best. Recently visited with my mother who ordered a drink with tonic, easy enough, but it tasted like club soda. Both of us HATE club soda. Ive had enough gin and tonics to know what tonic tastes like. Bartender remade it, tells us it was absolutely made with tonic, and again tasted like club soda. Maybe a line was crossed and marked incorrectly? Maybe they used poor quality tonic? I dont know. Her meal also came out and she was disappointed with the quality of meat, left most of it on the plate. That was the last straw, I cannot bring visiting friends or family here anymore, and I am truly sorry because of how supportive I want to be. I honestly hope this constructive criticism is taken from a place of local pride and changes are made. I plan to try again myself in perhaps a year and see if things have improved. Please do, we want to support!

For the last few days, I've only really been having awful food in Massachusetts (nearby, not the city area) so, I was sort of apprehensive despite my constant good experiences with restaurants in Vermont. Fortunately, this was a good pick and I left really happy! The appetizers were well-presented and most importantly, pretty good! The zucchini chips were a tad on the greasier side and difficult to stomach. However, it was still very tasty, I just don't really like oily food. Garlic roll was just slices of a baguette with a bit of olive oil and garlic (?) It's fine, I was even told by my server what it is so it's a matter of my own personal expectations not being met. Scallops were salty atop some sweet potatoes which balanced it out! Definitely eat it with the potatoes or it's too salty. For the main entrees.. The tenderloin. ($45 I believe) It was just a plain, good steak, though I will say that I really liked the subtle smokiness to it! As small as the platter is, the stacked potatoes served with it are rather dense thus allowing you to be comfortably full, not stuffed. The chicken shawarma ($16?) was definitely stuffed with seasoned chicken unlike typical places that instead try to make it majority fillers in comparison to what you're paying for: the chicken. I don't like shawarma sauce but their maple tajin one, while it threw me off at first, does definitely grow on you! It's hard to explain the taste as someone who doesn't exactly have shawarma a lot.
