    the breakfast menu

I tried this place for the first time. I enjoyed the small family atmosphere here. The decor wasn't bad at all. I didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered a burger and also a Patty melt. The sandwiches came out cooked properly. The reason for the four stars is because I felt the patty melt was missing some flavor. It just wasn't there. But it wasn't horrible.

Falls family restaurant was very cute and quaint. It was not very crowded so we were seated immediately and our waitress came and got our drink order within a minute. It took very little time for her to come and take her order and not very long to get the food. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the only time we had to wait for anything at all just to get the check at the end. I don't necessarily mind that because I'm not always a fan of when the waitress drops the check off halfway through your meal or when you've just barely started telling you that there's no rush. Prefer they wait in case I want dessert and they don't have to rewrite the check. Everything was good except for the potatoes. My omelette, while smaller than I was anticipating, was quite delicious. There's the perfect amount of feta to add that creamy saltiness to my Greek omelette. my toast was perfectly buttered impaired well with my omelette. The potatoes I felt tasted very old and either overcooked in the oil or undercooked. You know there's that consistency where it's gone past crispy and it's now just absorbing oil. I didn't think they taste very good either. I ate them, because it's what I do. My fiancé had a croissant sandwich that she quite enjoyed and the bite that I had of it was very good. The meat and the egg were perfect. So all in all I would say about 80% of everything was great. There is a decent likelihood that I will return.

Food was really good - homemade and yummy. I forgot to take pics until we had eaten it. My husband had Hawaiian sandwich, I had meatloaf and our granddaughter had choc chip pancakes. All was good. Our server wasn't the friendliest - she did a fine job but wasn't friendly

I was here September 26 to eat the service was horrible . We left without eating because there where mice running around . We took a picture of one that ran by us . It was going towards the cash register . When the waitress was shown our pictures her reply was " Awe How Cute "... The exterminator will be here tomorrow " ... We left without eating. The staff is very rude ...

    Goofy omelette

In for lunch yesterday. I'll admit I could eat breakfast food 24-7-365. Just felt like an IMO letter Monday. Settled in with the Goofy omelette. Onions, green peppers, tomato, ham, mushrooms, ( I opted out on them) and American cheese. The Hash browns are red skin slivers of joy. Just a great local greasy spoon place where prices are reasonable, and quantities large enough for a hefty appetite.

The facility is far bigger than I thought it would be. They have a central restaurant with multiple party centers on either side. It's a really BIG facility. New, modern, and quite attractive. With plenty of convenient parking. The wall of the restaurant that faces Cleveland Hopkins Airport is all glass. It affords you quite an impressive view of the airport and the planes landing. The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. All in all, our overall experience was "meh"... just "meh". Sorry - really probably should be 3.5

We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored. A 14-year journey still taking off.

This place isn't for everyone. If you choose price over quality, you'll think it's ridiculously…read moreoverpriced. If you don't value the difference between well-prepared food and bad, you'll also balk. My in-laws would have hated it: "They want me to pay $11 for three eggs, bacon, home fries and toast?!?! I can get a dozen eggs for $2.50 and a pound of bacon for $3.50 at Aldis..." My sister thinks of food as fuel. She's fine with breakfast at McDonalds, or whatever diner is closest to where she's staying. She'll also microwave a can of hash and a frozen omelet. Her husband is always dieting; he'd say the portions are too big. If you like to eat-- and you care about what you eat-- Southside diner is pretty wonderful. Everything is made from scratch. Portions are large. The recipes are flavorful and uniquely spiced (even the coffee is from a local roaster). This has positives and negatives; you might or might not agree with the decisions made in a recipe. For example, the "breakfast tacos" contain fried eggs, chorizo, red onion, pepper jack cheese, pineapple, chipotle sauce & cilantro (the last one means I can't touch it-- cilantro tastes like soap to me). On the other hand, I love their take on corned beef hash. Also, if this matters (not everyone cares) the pancake batter is different than the waffle batter. Because the kitchen is enormously busy, they get enough practice with unusual orders that they can deliver many things other diners whiff on. Like your eggs over medium or poached? No problem. They know how to make hollandaise, too. We enjoy having breakfast, so we can't speak to the burgers or salads. The four soups we've tried have all been good-to excellent. We often get a sandwich or two to go. The things that cost them a star : They're almost always really busy, so it can be difficult attracting the attention of a server is you need something, or something went wrong. The buttering of the toast is erratic. And, while I understand the need to make a profit, the cost of some of the add-one are high. 75 cents to add onions (not grilled) to an omelet? $3 to add blueberries or chocolate chips to your pancakes? Ouch (Strawberries or bananas I get.) It's still worth the trip. And the cost.
