Lucy was a quirky and loving cat.

If I could give no stars I would. I took my cat in. She was a long haired tabby and she had some matting on her back that was becoming painful to her. So they scheduled a grooming time and told me they would probably sedate her because she's a cat and the clippers might scare her. Cool no problem. I trust them. I got covid. My daughter took Lucy in for her appointment and requested the blood screen to see if she would be okay for the sedation. She then left Lucy there for her appointment. 4 hours later I got a call. Lucy was dead. They didn't do the blood work. They just decided to sedate her and she stopped breathing. I'm DEVASTATED. This whole ordeal has torn my family apart. I would never suggest this vet to anyone. Not even my enemies. DO NOT USE THIS VET.

Called on a Friday morning when I was losing hope of finding grooming appointment for Hercules. Every groomers in Killeen and Harker Heights were booked for the weekend. Luckily Family Pet Clinic was able to take him. I was worried because of the two bad reviews they had but I was in great need of getting Herc groomed. Thankfully everything worked out great. Generally you can drop them off between 7-9 am and they will call you when they're ready. I had work that day so when they called they said it would be okay to pick up before 5:30 pm which saved me stressing out for time. Hercules came out smelling wonderful and super happy. He was responsive towards everyone from the handler to the receptionist from what I saw. He seemed to have enjoyed his time here and so we will be back. $22 rabies vaccination $30 grooming (no hair cut)

The staff refused her service outright, claiming she had "cussed out" and "verbally accosted" them during a previous visit. Here's the problem: She has NEVER been there. Not once. Not ever. Instead of listening when she calmly explained they were confusing her with someone else, the staff talked over her, raised their voices, and doubled down on their false accusation. They escalated the situation themselves, then blamed her for their own mistake. It was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when she asked to speak with Dr. Gosney, she was told he "wouldn't" speak with her--again, based on an incident that never happened. No attempt to verify records. No apology. No basic respect. Just arrogance and incompetence. If this is how they treat someone who hasn't even walked through their doors, I shudder to imagine how they treat actual clients and their pets.

Additionally we are going to a new vet because the waiting area and the patient rooms are in a disgusting state of not so clean. We had to pick up syringe caps left on the ground, and wipe up blood that was in the sink and down the edge of the cabinets. We had to keep our dog from trying to get into the mess left behind. It's unhealthy and a deplorable state I refuse to take our family member to. The young doctor is nice as can be and deserves a better place to work, the older vet never even said a word to us. The vet I see is older and experienced but rushed, which leaves me wondering a lot and I don't feel like I ask enough questions in time. And because I'm rushing I feel slightly anxious and forget what I was even going to ask. Some of the vet techs are nice and friendly, and maybe one office staff person that I've experienced. Most visits are as I described. And I get it, they're a lower-cost veterinary office than others and they take Care Credit but two years of consistently bad experiences brought me to this review and also quitting this vet. I prefer Loop 363, they are very professional and friendly and dr bodecker takes her time, she looks things up with me when she doesn't know the answer, she really seems to care when she's in the room. Night and day difference with Loop363 vs Animal Medical Care. AMC is constantly busy so they're running appointments in an out like cattle, it's just a terrible experience overall.

Understand I know animals get ill and pass that is the cycle of life yet as clients we trust and follow our vets guidance to hopefully heal our furbabies. My cat Momo was a thyroid cat I brought him into the clinic due to not eating. Bloodwork showed an infection and he was very dehydrated not to mention he lost half his body weight. The vet a young lady suggested keeping him in house overnight for fluids and to monitor his eating along with antibiotics. OK no problem. Update next date doing better but still not great needs more fluids and eating but still watching give it another day. Pick up 1030 Saturday. OK Saturday at 1030 I was in a patient room when a young male tech came in and said he didn't eat so I would have to force feed. I said that wasn't what I was told yesterday he kinda looked lost. He then went to get my cat Once he brought me Momo I saw a cat laying down head flat no movement. I called his name no movement I opened the cage no movement. I lifted his head dead weight and his eyes dilate fix straight ahead. I looked at the tech and said how dare you bring me my cat in this condition without a vet and with not explanation. Momo was standing and aware of surroundings when I left him here two days ago and now he is at deaths door what in the hell did you guys do and why wasn't I notified!!. He said should I go get the vet. Is this guy for real!! I will not write what I was thinking. I just said yes now. Well older male vet comes in and proceeds to tell he looked over the blood work and could tell right away he was in kidney failure and ME keeping him in the clinic for two day over stressed him where his body gave out. Yep you read it. I caused the death of my cat because I followed the vets directions. I told him thats not what you co worker vet said. Well, i could have told you it. Yes arrogant ass. Nice thing to say as my cat lay dying due to your clinic incompetence. I said we needed to put him down . So I lost Momo that Saturday I want to say this is the 2nd review I posted on a vet clinic. Both are on this clinic . First one 2yrs ago they refused to see a cat they were treating who was in a coma dying because I didn't have an appt. Then told me the emergency vet cost about the same amount of money to put a cat down anyway. Now this being blamed for going along with what the vet said. Understand I brought all my animals to this clinic for years and loved them. They had outstanding vets some of the best I ever came across (I moved from plam springs and also dealt with orange county vets) I was thrilled to have found them. Slowly the vets moved to where it is today. I will NEVER step foot into this building again. I just want you to know I was a devoted client 100% never again. Just be aware and careful I want all furbabies to receive excellence love and care.

I think everyone should be upset with them holding medication ransom to treat a $2.00 sick chicken, demanding a $85 dollar fee even before the cost of the medication. It's claimed I berated their receptionist wit profanity when actually I was berating the situation. The receptionist took it upon herself to to become offended at me being upset. After I canceled an upcoming appointment telling them I would take my business elsewhere. I received a return call where I was told I was no longer welcome there with my other Animals (that they have received THOUSANDS of dollars for treating in the past two years) as if they are on some type of higher moral grounds with their demonstration of fake compassion and empathy for MONEY. So the takeaway from all this is to understand there is no loyalty points or frequent user awards given here if you show you're a real person and get upset or see their act for what it is - they will simply let your animals die rather than care for them. In addition if they can survive and be fine without the thousands and thousands of dollars I spend there annually, they obviously don't need your money either. Apparently they have pulled the wool over enough people eyes and hold enough medication for ransom from sick animals to keep them in the $$$ for quite some time. Unfortunately, the needless death of Bloomers the chicken is inevitable. Ironically, I doubt the needless death of Bloomers will have near the emotional effect on their receptionist as one of their customers getting upset. They may need to relearn to fake their understanding and compassion to include the fact that people get angry and upset at times. Beware! you are being recorded and they will threaten to use those recording to attempt undermining any negative review. Perhaps be aware of any other undisclosed recording devices being used at this establishment, you just never know.

We came here because our dog had a flipped stomach, and I was completely distraught. It was very obvious that our family was terrified and that our dog's life was in their hands. When they took my paperwork and brought my dog to the back, we could hear employees gossiping and saying things like, "Why are they even here? They live like four hours away." We were visiting family in the area, and quite honestly, I don't understand why that mattered. They were speaking as though we couldn't hear them through the wooden door. It was incredibly unprofessional and was the first major red flag. Then came the cost of surgery. I completely understand that emergency veterinary care is expensive, and I expected a significant bill. However, the price we were given was outrageous, and after doing more research on the situation afterward, I genuinely felt like we were being taken advantage of during an extremely vulnerable moment. What bothered me just as much as the price was the complete lack of compassion and humility throughout the process. I understand that working in emergency veterinary medicine can be emotionally exhausting, and I understand that doctors see heartbreaking situations every day. But when someone is sitting in front of you, watching their beloved animal fight for his life, there should still be some level of compassion and sensitivity. When we ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our boy down, there was absolutely no reading the room. While my family and I were completely devastated, the doctor was explaining in detail how the injection stops the heart, talking about how the same thing happens with horses, and going on about other details that were completely unnecessary in that moment. We were saying goodbye to a member of our family. That was not the time for a clinical lecture. I will never forget how we were treated during one of the worst moments of our lives. Again, I understand that emergency veterinary medicine is difficult, expensive, and emotionally demanding. But compassion matters. Communication matters. The way you treat people when they are at their most vulnerable matters. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility to find another emergency vet if you have the option. Do your research beforehand, ask questions about pricing, and don't assume that because you're in an emergency situation you have to accept being treated without compassion. Our boy deserved better, and so did our family.

If you care about your pets living, do not take them here…read more I boarded my dog, Merle, who has a known seizure disorder and was under this clinic's care. I trusted them to manage a condition they were already treating. During his stay, Merle had a seizure. I was told he would be monitored, but his seizures were not controlled and his condition worsened. More critically, the records do not reflect escalation to appropriate in-clinic seizure management. In veterinary medicine, ongoing or cluster seizures require timely escalation to longer-acting anticonvulsants to achieve control. Intravenous Phenobarbital is commonly used for this purpose. There is no indication in the records that IV Phenobarbital, or a comparable escalation, was administered or even available at the clinic. Because his seizures were not controlled, Merle's condition escalated to the point that he required transfer to two emergency hospitals, where he was treated for acute liver failure from prolonged seizure activity. His care exceeded $10,000. Based on what I was told by the emergency veterinarians, if he had not been transferred when he was, he likely would not have survived. After this, I was told by the clinic owner that I should be "grateful" he was transferred and she heralded Dr. Brongo a hero, as though there were some alternative to transferring him other than him dying. I was still charged for boarding, staff appeared unaware he had even been transferred when I returned, and no one from the clinic ever followed up on his condition or apologized. I filed a complaint with the Texas Veterinary Board, which declined to take disciplinary action against Dr. Brongo. While that was disappointing, I hope that during the course of that investigation she thought about the fact that she almost killed my baby every single day. If I could give them negative stars, I would.
