They were able to offer me an appointment sooner than others I had called because of a cancellation. They spent 90 minutes with me, explaining every option, and were very helpful with frame suggestions and alternative solutions to explore with contact lenses that may better suit my needs. They have a very thorough understanding of the the brands available and answered my questions that had often been vaguely answered in the past at other offices. They also presented several choices for my high power lenses, and the prices, very clearly and let me decide, without any pressure at all, if I wanted to upgrade to the highest cost options or settle on a lower cost option that would still accomplish my goals for replacing my older glasses. I appreciated their honesty and we agreed on a lower cost option. I would highly recommend Premier Eye Care and trust that my followup visit(s) for contacts will go as smoothly as my first visit.

Do they think we go out of our way find a poor fit? So, I guess now I have to go in every few days to get the frame adjusted. I was told, we can't send them back to the mfr, we can't sell them so you have to keep them. In other words they do NOT stand behind their own products, and they have your $$ and you are stuck with poor fitting frames. So, future buyers, be 1000000% sure your frames are a good fit or else you will be SOL, just like me. I cannot at this stage recommend them, unless they step up and fix this bad situation.

It's officially been a month and a half since I had LASIK done and so far, my only regret is that I…read moredidn't get it done sooner. If you've been in Charleston for any length of time you've probably heard of Kerry Solomon. His name is always the one that pops up when mentioning LASIK and from the moment I made the decision that I wanted to get this done, I knew he'd be the one I'd go to. Taking in all the good with the bad, I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone considering LASIK to go ahead and get it done, but I was even surprised at how much goes into this whole process. I'd say the actual surgery was one of the easiest parts of the whole experience. There is a lot of prep and post-op aspects with getting LASIK and Dr. Solomon's office did a very good job of clearly explaining all that goes into this procedure. I won't go into everything involved but just know for a good month, your world will consist of lots of round the clock eye drops, no makeup for a big duration (this may have been the hardest part for me), and wearing my glasses a lot more than I'm used to. I'd say if you're considering getting LASIK, these things should be taken into consideration (especially for us girls who wear makeup) to plan around. I ended up getting my surgery done in August because they were offering a huge discount during that time period ($800 off each eye!). The actual surgery wasn't bad at all. Definitely nerve-wracking but I can't imagine anyone being comfortable when you think of what is actually happening to your eyes. But the whole staff is so great at putting your mind to ease. And the good news is that the surgery goes by really fast! You'll be in the room less than 10 minutes and the actual procedure is about 2 minutes per eye. Then you go home and take a 4-6 hour nap and you wake up to perfect (or near perfect) vision! Truth be told, there have been some not so great aspects I've had to deal with like severe dry eyes and night glare, but these are all normal effects of the procedure and of course nothing that reflects badly on Dr. Solomon. I'm told to give it a solid 3 months to let your eyes heal completely, so that's what I'm going to do. But even taking these into consideration, I'd do it all over again. I still catch myself heading to the bathroom to take out/put in my contacts and then I remember I don't have to anymore. Best feeling!

My goal was not to seek treatment for a current eye problem, but rather to understand what I can do now to reduce my risk in the future. I wanted to discuss questions such as whether certain vitamins are beneficial, whether therapies like red light therapy have any evidence behind them, and what lifestyle changes or preventive measures are supported by research. When I scheduled the appointment, I was assured that I would be able to meet with a doctor to have this discussion. However, after arriving, I was told that I could not see the physician unless I first completed a full series of medical imaging and diagnostic tests. I was told they needed pictures of my eyes before they could even have a conversation with me. I found this extremely frustrating. While I understand that imaging is appropriate when evaluating or diagnosing an eye condition, I wasn't there because I was experiencing symptoms. I was there to receive education and guidance on prevention. It seems counterproductive that a specialist would refuse to discuss evidence-based ways to reduce risk simply because I declined diagnostic testing that wasn't the purpose of my visit. Preventive medicine should be encouraged. Specialists have an opportunity to educate patients before disease develops, especially when there is a significant family history. Instead, I left feeling that the focus was on requiring procedures before providing even basic medical guidance. Had I been told when scheduling that a consultation was contingent upon undergoing diagnostic imaging, I could have made an informed decision before taking time out of my day. Unfortunately, that expectation was never communicated, making the experience both disappointing and misleading.

I made the appointment for 8:45 this morning. I left my house at 7:30 am and drove through rush hour traffic for nearly an hour. I got to the office, checked in, and they called me back at 8:55. The tech asked me why I was there which was surprising. Anyway, I told her I was there for a consultation. She asked me if my eyes were bothering me, and I said no. She then told me that Dr. Solomon won't do the surgery until they bother me. I reminded her that the ophthalmologist in their office told me to schedule this appointment, and I had driven almost an hour to get there. Sensing my unhappiness, she asked if I'd like to talk to Dr. Solomon. I said yes. She said I'd have to wait a half hour. He hadn't even come in yet. I have had similar customer unfriendly service in the past. I went up front and told the lady what had happened. Not much concern..... only telling me "there's nothing I can do". I told her I would never be back. They were totally dismissive of my experience. I think Dr. Solomon can be arrogant, and I feel like it's more a cataract factory. How can he not be there when his first patients are being seated? I just wasted my morning. They do not care!!!!

I came to see the doctor a few months ago with pain in my eye as I thought something was trapped under my lid. The male doctor dismissed my pain and didn't even do a lid flip to check if anything was stuck underneath....all he did was prescribe $150 eye drops (he didn't mention the cost). I still had excruciating pain several days later and decided to go to another doctor...this doctor was SHOCKED that the low country eye care doctor didn't perform a lid flip and guess what...he found something underneath my lid that he removed. It's amazing what happens when a doctor ACTUALLY performs their job. The second issue I had was with my prescription lenses. I was told they arrived and to come to the office, when I arrived they mistakingly ordered or were sent sunglasses lenses and not clear regular lenses. After another week they called to say my correct lenses arrived. So I went to the office again and this time the lenses were clear but they were very thick and gave a fishbowl effect. I mentioned this to the staff and they said if I still felt that way after a few days to call them again....well the glasses didn't magically fix themself... I ended up ordering a pair from another provider and they were perfect. Clearly the provider they use for lenses is incompetent and unreliable. I will also mention that the front desk staff is typically unpleasant, adding to my overall review score. I do not recommend this location or provider for any service.

And I can SEE again. From 20-40 in both eyes back to 20-20 and a few letters on the 20-15 line. So yes, I'll have to wear my cheaters still to read up close, but no more squinting just to see. And the best of all? I'll be able to see the golf balls I hit once again it might even improve my golf game. Ha! Nothing ever has before. But I'm gonna give my new eyes a shot. Who knows?
