I recently found myself back at famous Dave's despite my objections. But I went with an open mind and a last chance policy. I did something I didn't expect and didn't order bbq but instead went with a chicken burger. I was shockingly surprised. I enjoyed it enough that I would go back just for that. The server also gave us the tip on how to get more of the awesome pickles at once and we got a bucket of fried pickles raw and not fried. That was a great suggestion. Over all I came back to give Dave's one more star for being so much better than the last two visits. At some point I hope they earn back that last star. read more

My husband and I try to meet friends here every Friday afternoon after work for a few drinks and some good food. After a long week of work and chauffeuring kids around, it's nice to go somewhere and relax and have some adult time. We started out several months ago trying different places around town for happy hour, for what we call a "mini date". Dave's has quickly become our go to place, primarily due to the impeccable service we receive here. We are so well cared for by Jessie, our usual server. She is absolutely great at what she does. She is always positive and smiling, and she makes our experience at Dave's so enjoyable. We would probably follow her somewhere else if she ever left, she is that awesome! :) We have also had Craig and Megan for servers, and they do a great job as well! Always attentive and accommodating. The food here is on point and well priced. Ribs are great, tacos are awesome and beer is always cold. We couldn't ask for more. Keep up the good work! read more

Lack of follow-up. On December 1st I received a Yelp email from John D stating that he was truly sorry for the experience my family and I went through on Thanksgiving. He referenced an earlier email and a certificate. I replied that I had not received any earlier email nor any certificate. I have not received any reply to that. Came back to the valley to visit family and went and had done with my bestie. Overall good couldn't decide on what to get since that was my first time at a Famous Dave's. I chose the burnt ends, hot link, beans, and spicy Mac n cheese. Overall food was good, only on the Mac n cheese was spicy but bland. Add a variety of different cheese or top with a panko crust and then it's a winner! Had the bread pudding for dessert and it was sooo good!! read more

Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Food was a meh for me. Side salad is not described on the menu and I ordered it assuming the basics. The salad was full of good stuff, but unfortunately for me, it had egg on it. Another was prepared for me sans egg and the original was gladly consumed by another diner in our party. Chicken tenders were overdone and my side order was wrong. Correct side order was provided and again, another diner in our party enjoyed the mistake. Not worth it even at half the price. Microwaved, fake mac'n'cheese. Catfish fingers were overcooked and bland. Fellow diner had a beef brisket platter which consisted of a thin layer of meat on a piece of bread. Wow. Two 1-meat 1-side lunch platters, 2 sodas & 2 side salads and the total was nearly $40. Waitress and cleanliness of the place were o.k. but the food is definitely 1-star. read more

I recommend the brisket and famous fries here. The brisket is juicy and flavorful. The famous fries are crispy and have just the right amount of seasoning. Their feast for two is definitely worth the high price I paid for it. My boyfriend and I had lots leftovers for lunch the next day. Also their service is much better there during their non busy hours around 3-4 pm, the food comes out the kitchen faster. read more

So, we had a mishap with the day we needed catering for the wedding rehearsal in Zillah, WA. It was scheduled for the wrong day by ourselves. NO FAULT of the restaurant what so ever. When we called to find out where the food was, they mentioned that it was not until tomorrow. We explained the situation and the manager himself brought out all the food needed to feed everyone within an hour and a half! They totally didn't have to do that, and am so grateful for them saving the day!! So, THANK YOU Famous Dave's and manager for fixing OUR mistake and being so kind as to accommodate! Went to famous daves for the first time tonight.....not very impressed...good beer selection..uhh except they required us to have 2 forms of ID to drink WTF?? Great place for their herb roasted chicken. Ribs in all restaurants are hit or miss. Sometimes ribs can be a little too dry. The ribs here were fine. Not out of this great but pretty decent. This can be a little loud. It just seems that there always a screaming kid every time I'm here. read more

I went for thier Ribeye steak. When I went to order, the waitress informed me they only serve them medium or more done. I don't like a steak burnt, and will not pay for that. I left disappointed. So, this is the second time I've been to this restaurant. The first time was pleasant enough, however last night we ended up walking out without being served. We were told we could sit in the bar immediately, so we did. Ten minutes later, still no menus, no water, and two servers walked past us a few times and didn't acknowledge us. Now, there was a wait for tables in the main restaurant, but three tables in the bar left as soon as we sat down. They may have been short staffed, and they were clearly busy, but even if you can't get to my table immediately, acknowledging me and saying you'll get to me goes a long way. I hope our next visit there is a better one. read more

Famous Dave's is a fantastic place to go to when you're craving BBQ! Granted, the service here is a bit slow, but the wait is so worth it. The other issue I have with this particular restaurant, is this one doesn't give you complimentary chips as an appetizer like the other Famous Dave's restaurants. Hey as Yakima goes this place is pretty good, but be prepared for VERY VERY SLOW service. And don't blame your server. More often than not they are understaffed and the kitchen is super slow. Went on $2 margaritas and tacos night(mare). Got one of each is almost 2 hours, while regular menu orders were processed just like normal. Skip the promotion nights - they are not prepared for a rush. But as BBQ goes this is pretty good and as Yakima eats go it's (only works here) above average. If you are from out of town lower your expectations and you'll be fine. read more

We went here with friends on a Friday evening. We expected to wait about 30 minutes and they sat us within 20. We ordered our food and the food was good. We all ordered root beers and did not know they were more expensive than regular soda. They were $5. That was ok, but what was not ok was the fact that we asked our waiter if they were refillable and he said yes but did not come back once during our meal to offer refills. My family and friends were repeat customers got to know a few of the employees there, the food is great that's the only reason why we kept going back, they have pretty good specials but unfortunately the manager sucks there. I expect more food for $20 a plate. The service was mediocre but good enough. Don't eat here on an empty stomach and expect to be full afterward.
