The front stained glass window. Cute place

Such a cute place with amazing stained glass. Had the brat and it didn't disappoint. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks were reasonable for being in the Dells. Definitely a cute stop when you're in the tourist trap city.

Martha made the experience! She was a caring server who invested the time to make sure we were pleased with our lunch. We started with curds for an appetizer. So warm and crispy with a yummy buttery flavor. The thick dip they are served with tastes like a hint of ranch but so much simpler and better. Hubby had a brat and cheeseburger (medium rare) with bacon and spicy chips. The burger was cooked perfectly, with the right amount of grease and flavorful. The chips were not spicy but served with that thick dip that the curds were served with. I had the schnitzel sandwich with fried cauliflower. The schnitzel was a little overcooked but the cauliflower...yummy! TVs everywhere with enough seating for a crowd. Great atmosphere!

Such a fun space with really great food and the friendliest service. We ate on the patio and still got excellent, attentive service. Food was excellent. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be regulars. Lots of vegetarian options. The fried, beer-battered cauliflower with sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds was divine. My child, who does not usually like cauliflower, nearly devoured the entire order. Everyone enjoyed everything we ordered, and we had a really great time there.

Having a place in the Dells area,we are always looking for a new place to try(Norm's in Lyndon Station is our go to usually).I had heard about the Brat House Grill and we decided to give it a try.We went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago and it was pretty empty(kind of a bad sign).I ordered a beer(Summer Shandy) and they were having problems with it and unfortunately they were out of a replacement barrel so I didn't get it(never had this happen before, especially in Summer),was very disappointed, but it happens I guess. We ordered a couple of burgers and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited.Like I said they weren't very busy,so I'm not sure why it was taking so long. They finally arrived, and we're ok and cooked well but honestly nothing special. We were overall, kind of disappointed. There was just nothing to overall to recommend this place.Kind of, just a place.Food was ok,but just ok,there was just something missing in the overall experience. Don't think we'll be back.

Potato pancakes with three sauces - applesauce, sour cream and syrup.

I had all the German things! I also had the Jaeger schnitzel sandwich which was tasty. The spaetzle and potato pancakes were delicious. The waiter suggested I mix the three sauces for the pancakes with ketchup and while it sounds bad it was an amazing flavor sensation. Great service at the bar! I went early in a Friday night and it was very casual and quiet. There was also a fish special another person at the bar ordered that looked amazing. Highly recommend!

interior of the brat house

I was passing through town and decided to stop at the Brat House. The name is pretty straight forward - brats are their thing! I sat at the bar and was waited on by a nice bartender. I ordered the swiss and mushroom best with plain homemade chips as a side. The food came out in pretty good time and was filling. Everything was done well, and they had homemade mustards too. The interior was pretty funky. It was neat to learn the history of the place because it looks like a church - sure enough it was! Very fun use of a building. The location has a small car lot and a sunny, street facing patio to eat on.

It's an old church that's been turned into a really cool restaurant. I think it's for the older crowd looking for good food, beer, and time. I went with young kids and we seem to be the only family there at the time. The food was really good, service was nice....for a place that doesn't seem, seems to be more of a dive bar than anything else. Not what we expected but had a good experience, plus it started snowing so it added to the charm.

BLT (without avocado)
Marissa G.

We stopped here for lunch and it was excellent! I had the BLT and cheese & brat soup. Both were delicious. Our kids got the Kraft Mac and cheese which is great to have as an option for kids! We also devoured the pretzel bites and my husband got the hot ham and cheese sandwich and enjoyed it. The dip that comes with the side of chips is also delicious. We will definitely add this to our rotation of restaurants when we come to the Dells. Service is also great and our waiter/bartender were friendly.

Averaging $20pp with splitting meals and 3 drinks, 1 water. The rather standard pretzel came with 3 dips- the jalapeño cream cheese easily being the favorite, followed by mustard & no interest in the nachos cheese one from anyone. The burger (& wrap) came with battered fries that are quite tasty & were used to finish off the pretzels dips - my preference would be the fries over the tots (the wrap order upgraded to). Now, the star... the burger was thick and juicy with a bun that handled it well. Yoppings were fresh - we paid extra (not much) to get the works on the burger & asked for a side of mayo for the fries. This worked well for the 2 of us to split. The gal was thoughtful enough to bring extra plates & utensils for splitting. I would stop here again en route or if staying in the area. Yes, even if not drinking.

A Master Class in How to Lose Regular Customers…read more We've eaten here four times. Until now it was always fine -- not great, not terrible -- but usually saved by really good servers. This last visit? Not so much. Our server vanished almost immediately (except for one heroic soda refill). Meals were dropped by a runner and we were never checked on again -- despite the restaurant being nearly empty on a frigid Friday with more staff than customers, we still couldn't seem to get helped. I eventually had to go find the manager. In a place this slow, he could have easily gone table to table. He did not. My friend's chicken sandwich was inedible: gnarly, tendon-heavy, and made incorrectly after requesting almost everything removed (none of it was removed). My institutional burger and fries were a snore. They offered to remake my friend's meal to go. Out came... just a burger. No fries. No sides. Just vibes. Finding the manager on the way out and bringing up our issues: multiple disappearances, an attempted discount after she'd already paid cash, and finally a handful of dollar bills shoved into her hand with "I took care of it." He never really asked to resolve my complaints but at least I had something to eat. Final thoughts: * Food: increasingly mediocre * Service: vanished * Management: improvisational * Fries: missing in action The only reason we kept coming back was good servers. This time we had neither. We won't be returning.

We usually come on a weekday in the afternoon or early evening when it is not very busy. The staff have always been kind and patient with taking our order and regularly checking on us. I like that the booth area on the main level is uncluttered and does not require steps to access. This makes getting to the booth easier for those with any mobility challenges and it makes it a bit quieter and easier to hear for those with hearing challenges. They have a decent size menu plus great daily specials. When we bring friends or family who can help us eat an appetizer, we always order the cheese curds which taste fresh, hot and not oily. If we don't find a Daily Special that suits us, we usually go for their Fish and Chips, Friday Fish Fry, or Mushroom Burger. A group of six of us walked in, sat ourself, and I asked a bartender if the kitchen was open. There were two guys behind the bar. They looked at each other and gave a nod. The younger guy said yes, but we are out of the fish fry. No problem for us. We were served by the younger guy and he was friendly, attentive, and didn't treat us as second class as most of our group took water while I had a couple beers. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. We tried a couple apps, and a few different burgers and fried shrimp. Having read about the steak burger, we had high expectations but it fell a bit flat. Others mentioned a sauce, but there wasn't any in ours. The burger with bacon and jalapeño was a banger though! Onion rings and fries were excellent. The curds were good, but I've had better. When it came time to close the check, our server met me as I jumped off my stool. I don't know his name, but gave him a 25% tip. Wish he worked at my place! For the Dells, the price is very reasonable in my opinion. As we were leaving things were lighting up, and getting loud. I got the impression the kitchen was closing even though they say they are open late as the older guy was grumbling about only having two people working. As an owner of a cocktail bar I get that things happen, but I don't like my employees getting upset about it. The younger guy kept his cool - even if he was hoping for more. I do plan to go back for another service and ask about the sauce on the steak burger. Felt weird to talk about it before getting it the way I assume they serve it. There are two Famous Dave's in town and tis is not the one with a big parking lot. But we were still able to park nearby, and they had plenty of room inside the restaurant to accommodate our group of 14. Being a large group, we were surprised they were able to seat us right away. Downside: the spot they put us in was pretty tight, but once we were sitting the only reason that mattered was that the server couldn't reach half our table. There was a lot of passing drinks and dishes across the table to those on the end. We keep coming to Famous Dave's because the food is delicious. Lots of tasty barbecue to choose from, and we like the variety of table sauces. There are usually more sauces on the table than there were this time. Our end of the table only had two of the sauces (they'd pushed a few tables together for us), and the other end had three, so...more passing things down the table. But if we didn't already know to look for them, or if we'd been a smaller group at a two-sauce table, we would have missed out. Some of us ordered the All-American BBQ Feast. It had a good variety of meats, plus cornbread muffins and fries. So, so many fries. Like, way more fries than we needed. I would gladly have given up most of that pile of fries for one more slice of brisket (which was a little light). But still, that food is delicious, so I guess we've gotta keep coming. Some of the kids in our group ordered kids meals--no complaints about the chicken tenders. And the kids also get pig ear hats, with activities on the back, to keep them busy while waiting for food to arrive.
