Given the reviews we had to drop in for lunch on our way home from Winona. The service was excellent. The nearly empty dining room and bar was a clue. We had to have the bratwurst of course. wife had the traditional and I had the stuffed brat with onion rings. We ordered sodas which came right away. And the brats were fairly close behind. The onion rings are outstanding. They added $3.99 which I thought was fair. You got the onion flavor and a crunchy batter that wasn't too thick. The cheese in the brat was barely noticeable. I wouldn't order it again. Not worth the hype. It came overflowing with grated cheddar, I ordered raw onions which were extra. My wife's brat was decent but super mild with not a lot of flavor. I was glad to try this place. I'm sure it rocks at night especially if they have a band. read more

So warm and crispy with a yummy buttery flavor. The thick dip they are served with tastes like a hint of ranch but so much simpler and better. Hubby had a brat and cheeseburger (medium rare) with bacon and spicy chips. The burger was cooked perfectly, with the right amount of grease and flavorful. The chips were not spicy but served with that thick dip that the curds were served with. I had the schnitzel sandwich with fried cauliflower. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be regulars. Lots of vegetarian options. The fried, beer-battered cauliflower with sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds was divine. Food? We ordered for pickup. I really liked my Wisconsin Cheddar Brat, a brat-spiced pork ground with cheddar cheese bits. It was waiting to be served on the back of the flat-top grill. While that might have dried it out a bit, it did give the sausage a lovely smoky, charred taste. I had the housemade kettle chips spicy style. I liked the thickness and crunch of the chips but the spicy "rub" that was shaked over the chips was too salty for me. I also ordered a cup of spaetzle. Sad, sad face here. The pasta was NOT cooked to order. It had been sitting in the chicken broth for way too long as the pasta was soggy and spongy robbing it of any flavor. Service? My partner said everything was fine. Ambiance? My partner said it was a nice bar but lacked the homey feel of what was once our favorite bar in Oshkosh, Witzke's. I was passing through town and decided to stop at the Brat House. The name is pretty straight forward - brats are their thing! I sat at the bar and was waited on by a nice bartender. I ordered the swiss and mushroom best with plain homemade chips as a side. The food came out in pretty good time and was filling. Everything was done well, and they had homemade mustards too. The interior was pretty funky. It was neat to learn the history of the place because it looks like a church - sure enough it was! Very fun use of a building. Having a place in the Dells area,we are always looking for a new place to try(Norm's in Lyndon Station is our go to usually).I had heard about the Brat House Grill and we decided to give it a try.We went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago and it was pretty empty(kind of a bad sign).I ordered a beer(Summer Shandy) and they were having problems with it and unfortunately they were out of a replacement barrel so I didn't get it(never had this happen before,especially in Summer),was very disappointed, but it happens I guess.We ordered a couple of burgers and waited.And waited,and waited,and waited.Like I said they weren't very busy,so I'm not sure why it was taking so long.They finally arrived,and we're ok and cooked well but honestly nothing special.We were overall,kind of disappointed. There was just nothing to overall to recommend this place.Kind of, just a place.Food was ok,but just ok,there was just something missing in the overall experience. I had all the German things! I also had the Jaeger schnitzel sandwich which was tasty. The spaetzle and potato pancakes were delicious. The waiter suggested I mix the three sauces for the pancakes with ketchup and while it sounds bad it was an amazing flavor sensation. Great service at the bar! It's an old church that's been turned into a really cool restaurant. I think it's for the older crowd looking for good food, beer, and time. I went with young kids and we seem to be the only family there at the time. The food was really good, service was nice....for a place that doesn't seem, seems to be more of a dive bar than anything else. The worst customer service I've ever had since I transferred from California. And the most bland macaroni and cheese with friend chicken. (Mind you I had to add mustard to it because there were no spices at all) I paid $60 and an 18% gratuity that was automatically charged for this horrendous experience. We stopped here for lunch and it was excellent! I had the BLT and cheese & brat soup. Both were delicious. Our kids got the Kraft Mac and cheese which is great to have as an option for kids! We also devoured the pretzel bites and my husband got the hot ham and cheese sandwich and enjoyed it. The dip that comes with the side of chips is also delicious. We will definitely add this to our rotation of restaurants when we come to the Dells. Service is also great and our waiter/bartender were friendly. read more

Let's start with the service because it was excellent for us. It was very busy and our server/waitress was exceptionally good. She covered multiple tables making sure our orders were taken quickly and drinks were never empty. The food was also excellent. I loved the sausages. They were well prepared and had a wonderful flavor. I don't think they were made in house and that's a little disappointing but very tasty all the same. The establishment itself could use some work. I'm always a bit put off by tables that wobble. They lead to spilled drinks and broken dishes and it really takes away from a meal when you are worried your young child is going to pull a table down. We will certainly stop in on our next visit and I would recommend it as a stopping place. read more

We were there with a kid too and their kids menu is pretty funny to read, and the food was really good when it came out, we were happily surprised that the kids Mac and cheese was legit homemade, it wasn't just reheated easy mac from a cup. I have driven by this place many times in the Dells and was always curious. I thought it was a little fast food place. But we tried it on Saturday night and it turns out to be more of a bar with some excellent German food. Bratwurst was good. Jager schnitzel sandwich was great. Potato pancakes hit the spot and the spaetzle was unique but also good. In general we really enjoyed it. We did get it for carry out and had a drink at the bar while we waited. We had to wait for the bartender to take three tables' orders before ours and a bus full of bridal parties came in while we were waiting so they got a little hectic. Unfortunately they forgot a couple things from our order in the process. We will come back next visit and if we get everything I would bump my rating to 5 stars. read more

Having the Potato Pancakes w/all the fixings, Applesauce, Sour Cream & Maple Syrup. Chicken Poblamo Soup was superb. My other half had the Jaeger Schnitzel Sandwich w/a side of Spatchel. WoW!! The kitchen really did a great job!! When in **The Dells**, you must also have The Spotted Cow Beer that's only brewed & sold in WI. Delish!! I gotta stock up before leaving. After driving all day we decided to order takeout from Brat House Grill to eat at our nearby hotel. Being originally from Wisconsin I was concerned that with the name Brat House Grill it may be too touristy. But when I walked in, the impression is like pretty much any corner tavern anyplace in Wisconsin! Like any sports bar there was a very large screen TV with a football game on behind the bar and several smaller screens with other sports on with the volume off. I had studied the menu and photos in advance and I was focused on having a Bratwurst; my wife decided to have a BLT, both of which come with homemade Potato Chips-Original, Spicy, or Parmesan. I decided to order one Original and one Parmesan and added a side order of Spaetzle just because. I walked in, placed my takeout order with the bartender, used the restroom (clean), and waited for my order. It was ready in about 10-15 minutes so I paid and then we drove to the hotel, checked in, and had a nice quiet dinner in our room. The Bratwurst had Sauerkraut (25¢ add but essential) and I added some Mustard and Ketchup. It was very good and took care of my craving for now. The BLT was on a multigrain bread and was excellent. The Spaetzle was quite tasty and we quickly polished it off. If the name Brat House Grill sounds like it might be touristy, well, it's a bit of that being in a vacation destination but it is also a local tavern and sports bar. It is frequented by locals as well as visitors who are here to experience the Wisconsin Dells. Give it a try. read more

Well, we were so excited about an app platter with literally our favorite fun/comfort foods on a rainy day watching football. But this was how it looked when we opened the box. I picked up instead of delivery so it would be hot/fresh. Pretzel was delicious, hot, very soft with a little crunch from baked buttery spots. The rest we could have lived without. None was hot, maybe luke warm. It appeared gross, but was okay. These foods should be delicious. Ranch was bland. Jalapeño dip okay. Cheese is fake and gross. Never got my BBQ sauce. 3 stars because I'd order the pretzel again and the bar and huge projection TV are worth another visit, good comfortable ambiance and games. Service was average. Bartender was nice, but took a while to acknowledge me. We will try again in restaurant before writing them off. I really hope it's better. read more

We went to dinner here because my husband loves BRATS and German food. He was equally disappointed with all of the food. The brats were well overdone, the German potato salad was canned crap! He had the porky pig sandwich, which had basically lunch meat ham, pulled pork and bacon. It also had a brat patty( over done, hard) and greasy roll. The onion rings were so greasy that your hands were shining from all the Grease. I had the BRAT HOUSE SAMPLER, the pretzel was the size of the plate. I had cheese curds, greasy onion rings, chicken strips( bland crust). The dipping sauces were canned cheese( blah tasting) ranch, a vinegar type I couldn't describe and a avocado dip with some type of spice ( can't describe). My pretzel really didn't taste like a pretzel, more like a roll made to look like a pretzel and hardly any salt on it. We were in a back room where at least music wasn't too loud but the service was kinda slow and we had to ask for a fork since mine didn't come with one. My husband is diabetic and we requested Splenda which they didn't have for our tea. I don't fully understand why northern states refuse to make sweet tea, since they have southern travelers come to their towns. I really don't recommend anyone to go to this establishment. They use fake cheese for being in WISCONSIN DELLS a pretty sad choice I would say! read more
