We took a boat ride on Castle Rock Lake we ended up at Shipwreck Bay for lunch. We found a great outside seats for the 4 of us. We had a great waitress who brought the best Margarita ( per my friend) And the best Old Fashioneds per there sign. All the food was amazing, Shrimp tacos were full of shrimp. Cute little local place. It's close to our Airbnb so we stoped in for dinner. The wings were pretty good, normal bar wings. Crispy and not too small! $20 for 2lbs. We tried the Nashville hot and sweet chili sauce. The Nashville was great if you like a little spice! I honestly wish there were more sauces to try. As for the cheese curds they were low grade like Culver's. For $12 a basket I would've expected better. The marinara was served cold which would have been better warm. This restaurant is a GEM! Great food, sports on all tvs, wonderful service and family owned and operated. Enjoyed the Taco El Pastore. Hubby had Hamburger with barbecue sauce fries and I had fries very good. However: As good as the Bloody Mary was, waitress should ask what size! $10.50 is alot for the large. I was not given a choice. Just alot for Sr budget. A nice lake front restaurant with out door seating. We were there at noon and hit a really busy crowd of bikers. Things were slow but eventually got our food and drinks. No big deal it was a nice day. Food was average bar food but have been told it's much better when not so busy. There was a major detour to get there so check before you go. read more

Not sure what happened, but we cannot afford to feed a family of 4 here anymore. 1 order cheese curds ($12) 3 sandwich entrees with chips included ($16 each), 1 kids meal ($7), 4 waters = $74 ( plus tip made it $88) Shipwreck, you raised your sandwich prices by $4 each from last year. Our favorite spot to eat on Castle Rock Lake. But you "wrecked" our budget and we'll not be back for the season. Tasty food and excellent service. Great food, drinks and service! I greeted myself with complimentary popcorn near the entrance. Yum! We sat at a table by the bar for lunch. Their blood mary was fantastic! It's served in a pint glass and was garnished with beef jerky, celery, green bean, pickle, olive, mushroom, pretzel, asparagus, and brussel sprout! That's pretty much lunch in a glass. They also had other specialty drinks listed on the wall. The Trivers' warm & gooey chocolate chip cookie is a must have! Went with family who was in from out of town and loved that they could accommodate our larger parTy right away. We know it's the off season, so f you are coming in then, do not sit by the door! It was super chilly at night and the kids go running in and out (that part we don't mind!) Service was awesome, I wish I could remember our waitress name. Main entrees were great. Food came out as ordered. Word of the wise, don't order your burger well done. Go with a medium or medium well. My family rented a pontoon boat at Castle Rock Water Sports next door to this place on the lake. After a morning of boating, we came back to dock and have lunch here. Great place on the lake to eat. Beautiful view and awesome outdoor patio with picnic tables as their outdoor booths. Our server was fantastic. Food was good. Onion rings were awesome!!! My wife and I had the corned beef Rueben sandwiches. They were good, but not made the way we like a Rueben. The corned beef was served on the sandwich kind of like a pulled pork sandwich. I didn't like it that way, but that's only my preference. I like the beef sliced on my Rueben sandwich and this one was not like that. The sandwich did taste good and I enjoyed it, but just not the way the meat was served on the sandwich like pulled pork. My son had the hamburger and he enjoyed it, as well. We all had the onion rings on the side and they were fantastic. Highly recommend the onion rings. Can't beat the view or outdoor patio here. I would recommend this place to eat. If i could rate this place with half a star or less i would. They don't change their oil for their friers for like 2 weeks, manager/owner yells at his employees calling them "pos" "losers" "idiot" "worthless" and every other name in the book, if you ask me that is some really poor management and ownership. they place old food that is not good anymore and place it on top of new food, and they make everything a week early so your getting food that is just reheated and a week old. read more

This place has gone down hill to say the least. For over 10 years I have come here. Every year it gets worse and worse. Today I went to enjoy a cocktail with my family and as I walked in the door, some blonde entitled employee who I held the door for was COMPLETELY RUDE!! Didn't thank me or even acknowledge me. We own a house down the road off the lake and this is the last time we will go there and the last time I ever recommend any of my renters there. Food is overpriced now but least of my concern. Service sucks. And when I spoke to a manager, his first statement was" well you guys don't look like your from around here". Um ok?... When we got here everything seemed pretty good, friendly staff and a good homey environment. When we sat down we looked over to the right of us on the floor and there was a large pile of dog puke... the entirety of the time it was just there on the floor. 3/17/2018. St Patrick's Day Came for the corn beef and cabbage dinner after church. They started serving at 11 am. We got there about 11:45 - 12:00. There was only 3 people there when our group of 7 arrived. We all wanted the corn beef special but was told that there was only enough cabbage left for maybe 3 dinners. My wife opted to take coleslaw instead of cabbage. I told the waitress I would take 1/2 the amount of cabbage as did 3 others in our group so we all could have a little cabbage. Waited about 1/2 hour before food started coming. One couple was getting ready to leave. I think this was to get us to get more drinks from the bar. I ordered the Mac and Gouda nuggets,ship wreck burger,fried pickles and a side of gardinara (spelled wrong lol ) .the pickles were fresh in house and great,the burger wasn't bad.for some reason they gave me a small bowl of Mac and some fries instead of the bite I ordered. The Mac I'm not even sure it had cheese on it or it was really light. Never got my peppers on the side. We walked in with 26, unannounced and no reservations. They seated us promptly and proceeded to take our drink orders. They only had two waitstaff and they did a phenomenal job! Kudos! We got our drinks fairly quickly and then the staff started the orders, as the completed a table they ran the order back. Apps, drinks, and then the food. Everything was great portions and tasted great! The outdoor deck, bar, gazebo would be a great place to enjoy drinks and grub during the warmer weather, this evening it was too chilly to sit outside. Ok I'll be honest. I've worked here about three days. The kitchen is clean and well maintained, drinks are heavy, proportions are large. But I've only had a negative welcome there. The hosts, Scott and Brian do not seem to care for the safety of their employees. Ive witnessed the hosts providing a positive environment for a customer who negatively reacted to a bartender sexually after being asked to leave. I've heard racist comments from employees. Most of the cooks are under the age of 21 and are very immature, some dont care of the quality of food, or if the food is returned, or more customers show up near kitchen closing time, they only complain and care less of the quality and worry about the speed of closing the kitchen up. And for COVID standards, no cooks wear a mask, some waitresses do. No one is tested before entering the building. No signs are posted asking customers to wear masks, posing a threat to workers. No hand sanitizer or masks are offered to customers or workers, only hand soap. Also I've witnessed a safety hazard. A cook was using a compressed butter spray as a blowtorch, up near the vents for the grill, stove, fryers, and pizza ovens, almost setting off the safety system which would have made a huge mess. They should really review potential employees for more experienced workers, and defend the bartenders with either a weapon, or a bouncer, or some type of defences that would actually help them in a scary situation. Not just cameras to watch what happens, out in a secluded location like that, there should be more security in my opinion. I dont care if this gets me fired. People deserve the truth. read more

This bar is the definition of summer. A few of us drove up to the Dells for a fun weekend escape, but stayed a bit north to avoid the tourist traps. Found Shipwreck Bay on Yelp and it was everything we hoped it would be. The bar is essentially a massive covered deck right on the lake. The deck is referred to as "Jack's Deck"; Jack is the old man owner (and most adorable human of time). Cue many, many references to Jack's big deck. Jack himself was having an amazing time, and interrupted the band twice to tell everyone at the bar how much he loved and appreciated us, and how his bartenders and servers were amazing people and he loved them too. I would go back here just to hang out with this cute old man. We came on a Saturday and the live band was the absolute shit. The crowd is a mix of locals and out-of-towners, all getting along and dancing their drunk little butts off. All ages partook in this dancing. We had dinner here as well, a casual pizza and salad. Pizza was quite delicious. Cheese curds were good but the order was surprisingly small (our only complaint of the whole night). This place rocks. Come here with friends, you'll have a blast, enjoy the sunset, and dance your tush off. Bring a volleyball if you have one for the sand court right next to the deck. Don't wear anything too fancy. Went to Shipwreck for dinner with the family while on vacation. The ambiance is very bar-centric, with a band playing popular rock 80's hits outside, and a family themed diner inside. The view of the lake is beautiful. Overall service was good. They don't do free refills on soda, they just give you the can, so be wary of how much you order. I ended up getting the Norwegian Salmon Filet dinner, which came with salad (and choice of coleslaw) choice of potato, and a fresh, hot loaf of bread. (Which was shared among the table) The Salmon was marinated in a hot, creamy butter sauce, which was very delicious. The majority of my family had the prime rib and burgers. No complaints there. For dessert, we tried the chocolate chip cookie balls. They were okay, the dough just felt a bit undercooked. Our server was really nice and able to deal with a large group of people. Service was fast. Overall, Shipwreck was definitely a two thumbs up for me. I would definitely recommend anyone in the New Lisbon area to come here. read more

Amy Amy Amy! What an incredible service experience. The food was excellent but Amy really made our time sparkle. She runs that place like a champ. I watched her not only with us but with other tables and I was so impressed. She made recommendations from the menu that were on point and I even heard her check on the cooks to see if they needed anything to drink. There was nothing wrong with this bar when we arrived. Atmosphere is steller. The drink and food menu were extensive and looked pretty good. We were happy sitting outside with the lake and music. The view on all angles was good. It was friday night. I ordered all you can eat fish and the wife ordered salmon. It took an hour and a half before we were served!!! No explanation or apology. Seemed like that is the norm I guess. During the wait I switched to a diet coke so I didn't get too loose and lose my wallet. The fish came out and was okay. A slight fishy taste means not fresh. I ordered deep fried and brolied. The deep fry was better. Wife's salmon was okay. All in all if they fix the timing and food, the friday night at the shipwreck would be a awesome night. After initial issues with ordering I encountered a plastic piece for closing left overs in plastic bag in my salad and had enough of this place. The mixed drink was 80% ice and after -2- slurps the drink was gone. The salad was limp and asked them if I can leave after getting the plastic stuck in my mouth- not even one person asked if I was OK. I had to pay for the full meal $ 61.00, since the steaks were cooked, there was no manager code or manager present, so the price could not be reduced, or...... . I waited for a while and the steaks did not come out and with $61 paid I walked out with mushroom appetizer and -2- slurps of a mixed drink. I left my phone number to get a call back and still waiting. What a shipwreck. I have eaten all over the world, but this is the worst experience I have ever had to get a steak dinner. read more
