I have heard a lot of people talking about the Crispy Cheese Chicken Burger from Famous that I finally had to try it. The sandwich is absolutely huge, my wife and I split it and it was more than enough food for the two of us. The chicken burger has a very nice super crispy coating. They then add some more deep-fried deliciousness with some deep fried mozzarella all on a bun with mayo and a few veggies. I would definitely agree with people that this is the best chicken sandwich in Sherwood Park so far, but for me is the second best in the Edmonton area (Northern Chicken owns number 1 spot in Edmonton). Best in Sherwood Park. And I have tried them all! It's high time I update my review. This is no longer the Famous Donair of old. I went once years ago. Much like the older reviews state...I wasn't impressed at that time. That however...was years ago, and I have recently learned that was under the original owner. He was an "old school", "my place...my way...my hours" kinda guy. Hence, the reviews which state odd hours and inconsisstent service. So I've always approached since with trepidation. That being said... Today's incarnation... New owner. Consistant hours and quality. Even delivery option during peak hours. Upon dining here on several occasions recently... Damn. It really hits the spot! Juicy and delicious. Friendly service. It's not fancy. Could use an update on the decor to go with the updated owner...but I'm not here for the ambiance. I'm here for a donair. I do believe I finally appreciate why they are Famous. read more

To be honest, it's hard to only give three stars here. This guy is a Sherwood Park Staple. He knows his customers and works hard. He's in every day and the place, although not in the best shape, is clean. Is it the best donair? Probably not. Is it the kind of place that you walk into and feel like you are being pampered or are made of money? Not at all. This is one of those places though that you find and tell your friends about. The kind of place that makes you feel comfortable walking into on a lonely day. If this place were a song it would be "I've got friends in low places" because this guy and this place are one of a kind, they always welcome you and you always know what to expect. I would honestly give a 4* rating if not for the fact that he is always out of fries. I like fries to go with my donair and he always seems to be out. Please bro, get some fries! In the winter the temp. can be on the cold side as well making it hard to enjoy a warm meal. As for the decor? I'm sure if he gets busier, he would be able to renovate that much easier. Two words, so good. This was the first time we have ordered here, and judging by the restaurant, I was not sure what to expect. Damn... wow... crazy good. We did not see them prepare our donairs, but, when we got home,we noticed their massive side. I ordered a super donair with cheese and my son ordered the jumbo. The meat is deliciously spicy,and the donair is prepared fresh with your choice of toppings. If your on the fence, get off and go here now. I'll be back to try your poutine!! Thank you. read more

The best prices and best quality donair I have had in ages. Quality ingredients, your choice of meat and sauce and ingredients. Awesome selection on top of awesome prices and you cannot go wrong. 10/10 would recommend. Only downside was the lineup at prime time for lunch (1230) however did get in and out within 15 minutes. read more

People always tell me that this guy makes the best donairs around. Not the case, Usually those are the people that havent ventured out from the park for a donair. Its better than richards, and the other donair stores in town, but thats not saying much. This guy takes forever to make you a donair and he wont stop talking to you. read more

In Sherwood Park. Pros: inexpensive and lots of meat. Also the owner is a personable guy. Popular with students. Cons: I wish they would skip the lettuce and add more onions and tomatoes instead, and I don't particularly like their donair sauce as it doesn't have that nice sour creamy taste. No whole wheat pita bread but that is the norm unfortunately at these places. read more

Best donair I've ever had in my whole life. Clean space with very good service. The new owner is very friendly and quick. The price is very low compared to other shops and the quality is way more better. The sauce is fantastic delicious the meat is tender and fresh. Thank you for making my day anytime I pass by. I have eaten at this location several times, and I really enjoy a Good Donair which is exactly what I got every time I ate there at Famous Donair in Sherwood Park. The owner which was who was working every time I ate there treated me very well and on a person to person level, meaning treated me like he knew me by name and was extremely friendly, I guess which is why he has been in business for so long. He had a deal with me at the time every time I would bring in 4 people for Donair's he would give me 1 free, so basically mine would be free. Ha-ha at the time I owned a Landscape Construction company so I had lots of employees and would quite often eat there for free. I started eating there; well it is 2013 now so 7 or 8 years ago maybe even longer. I have to agree with most of the other reviews above This Joint is the Best Donair in Sherwood Park, which is quite a compliment and I would be quite happy knowing that if this was my establishment. Unfortunately not the best Donairs when comparing to Columbus Donair in Edmonton which by far is the best Donair to date that I have ever eaten. The one thing that I truly remember and will never forget about Famous Donair is that his Donair are very large and very filling. 4 out of 5 thumbs up and keep them coming. Randy R. read more

The donair meat was very cheap tasting....like it came out of a can or something gross. The place looks run down. We won't be back. People who think this is the best donair have lived a very sheltered life in the land of donairs! This is probably one of my worst ones! read more
