I've been going to the famous burger restaurants for a decade now. Have been to all 3 locations; original Dearborn location, Canton, and now that I work near by I often go to this Dearborn location on Michigan avenue. Every time I go, the host is super quick to get us a table and the waitress is literally seconds behind. So the service is definitely quick and always polite. Often walking around asking if everything is good and will get you an extra sauce or napkins without hesitation. I like that about them. The food has always been the bigger bonus. The burgers are large and get the logo irons onto the buns, which is a cool little thing. My go to burgers are the habanero burger as well as the habanero chicken sandwich. They always come out perfectly cooked and taste great. The side is the tough one, which to get. Between their curly fires, waffle fries, or normal home fries. All 3 are good and I try to switch it up every time. So I recommend eating here. I know I'll be back there soon. read more

Took my boys here for what I had hoped would be great burgers and shakes. Very expensive for the quality and service. $43 for 1 burger and waffle fry, 2 shakes and 3 kids meals for lunch. Our waiter and waitress were always there to ask if we needed anything and always provided what we asked for in a timely manner. Not only were they doing their job in serving food, but they were also going beyond that and having a conversation with my friends and I. One thing that I appreciate about this type of service is that it shows that the restaurant deeply cares for its customers: how are they, how is the food for them, are they enjoying their time in the restaurant? I was super hunger but didn't want a burger. I don't eat PORK and have a Gluten Sensitivity so my options are slim late at night. Well Yelp helped me find Famous Hamburger and they had Loaded Tater Tots that's included beef bacon. I was all smiles and my husband just got a burger with beef bacon. When you call yourself famous hamburger , your burgers should be on point. At first bite the meat itself reminded me of a run of the mill frozen beef patty I could get anywhere. The presentation is nice but they come up short where it counts. The fries were good and the shake was ok. Service was excellent. The burger itself is why I gave this place such low marks. I like this location much better than the East one on Schaefer Rd. I ordered the ghost pepper burger, although it wasn't as spicy as I'd hoped it would be, I still enjoyed it. The portion was just right with the fries and coleslaw included. The service was great, they were very attentive and helped us out as much as they can. My friend ordered a shake from there and somehow a small piece of hair ended up in it, but the server gave her a brand new one right away. I have been going to Famous Hamburger for a couple years now and I can honestly say that it's one of my favorite places to eat. I'm usually there once a week with my sister, having our favorite burgers for a quick lunch before class and they never fail to satisfy our taste buds. They have a really friendly staff that was very informed on the items of their menu and asked if we had any dietary concerns of allergies. A few of the girls in our group had dietary restrictions such as gluten intolerance, celiac, vegetarian, dairy-free, so it was very important for our waitress to ask and they were really nice about placing everyone's order. We ordered their popular Mac and Cheese Bites, and Two styles of Nachos- one regular and one vegetarian (no beef added). The mac and cheese is creamy and cheesy with a little kick of jalapeño flavor that is not too spicy or overpowering, and the breading on the outside is crispy to perfection. I always get a cheeseburger and waffle fries and it is always cooked to perfection. They offer so many choices of burgers like their California burger, Swiss Mushroom Burger, Black Bean Veggie Burger, the Juicy Lucy burger, Grilled Chicken Burger and their Famous burger (the original one that made them famous!). They also offer entree meals like grilled boneless chicken, chicken quesadilla, baguettes, wraps, tenders, fish & chips and a wide variety of salads. They have a kids menu so your little ones will be satisfied, too. They have hand-spun shakes that are a real treat! They come in vanilla bean, chocolate, strawberry, and mint chip. Or be spontaneous and grab yourself a signature freezer featuring snickers, M&M's, cookie dough, Reese's Oreo and more. Also, the salad is always very fresh and tasty and the ranch is a must do. Was really craving a burger for my birthday dinner and I was lucky enough to find this gem. Unfortunately for me I can't always get burgers wherever I go since I am gluten free, but this place was able to provide me with a tasty gluten free bun! My whole family (6 of us) each got a different type of burger and we were all very happy with how the burger tasted and how the fries were as well. In my opinion these are some of the best waffle fries I've ever had anywhere. Yes... sorry Chick-fil-A you have been beat. I also decided to get a regular vanilla milkshake and it was very delicious! Only reason why I have to give this place 4 stars is because the server took forever to take our order and get our drinks right when we arrived. This is not a complete negative in my opinion because they made up for it by bringing our food to us in incredible time. I swear I blinked after we ordered and my giant burger was right in front of my face. Not worthy of the crown Recently I updated on of my reviews for a " burger place " in Dearborn bestowing one them the local crown. I also asked for recommendations to unseat said wearer of this ornamentation. Okay I've heard you and gave this restaurant a try. Recently I went in here to give it a title shot. I ordered their signature mushroom burger and fries, trying to compare apples to apples with my current title holder. Sit down restaurant with waiter/ waitress, newer decore and styling on interior of building. Chow arrived with in short order with decent visual presentation. Bottom of bun was cold because of a plethora of in my opinion lettuce, red onion, catsup, and a slice of tomato. Top was nicely topped with good amount of mushrooms and cheese. Unfortunately the meat of the subject does not meet expectations, no better than local grocery store and appeared to have been spatulaed a real no-no for a good burger. The flavor of the meat at restaurant not far down the street still is superior in my opinion. I'm sorry but this doesn't knock my current champ out, need to step it up some. I don't expect catsup, tomato and red onions on my mushroom burger. And everyone knows you don't put lettuce under a burger because it gets soggy. Just seems to me that there is too many things going on to make up for the lack of flavor from the meat, in my humble opinion.
