Today was my first and last visit to this nail salon. Within a few minutes of sitting down the tech burned my finger with the dremel then not even a minute later he was using it on my thumb and it slipped. The dremel slid across the bottom of my thumb cutting a line across the thumb. Needless to say it was gushing blood. I about fainted. He put super glue on it and proceeded as if nothing happened. He charged me full price and offered me a discount on my next visit ( really?) Needless to say that did not sit well with my husband. He drove thr and insisted on our money back which they did give him. read more

This place is horrible. The ppl is nice but the price is to high for gel polish when you can't match the polish for your feet with the polish on your hand. Miracle Nails is the place to go. 5 stars for Miracles Nails no stars for Famous Nails. read more

Yelp really needs to make a zero star option. The guy who sits at station 1 is probably the worst nail tech in the industry. I got a gel set and every single nail looks like shit. They're all crooked and he applied way too much powder on both my moddle fingers. Not to mention he is incredibly rude. He will sit there and find ways to blame you for the way your nails come out even after telling him whats wrong with then. Total waste of my money amd time. I will never go here again. read more

First, I was sitting in the pedicure chair for about an hour before any nail tech actually touched me, and then when I actually did get seen the were rushed and made me bleed by ripping the actual skin off my toe instead of my cuticle. I was then rushed off to get my full set done and the guy who did my nails repeatedly charged me more for dumb things such as nail shape and when I would tell him he wanted something and it was an extra charge he would condescendingly tell me it was more expensive. My nail set ended up looking horrible, there was glue all over my fingers, and he never even prepped my fingers or cuticles prior to doing the full set. I've been to Famous Nails twice, both times for a shellac french manicure. My first experience was mediocre. I had several employees helping me throughout my visit and they seemed to be quite busy. The manicure itself lasted three weeks which was awesome but the paint job wasn't exactly stellar. I went back today and a different woman helped me this time. My experience was fantastic! My nails look great and the french manicure was practically perfect. I'll be back again. read more

Very pleased with the gel mani & basic pedi I received. We had questions about the pricing that weren't really addressed. We used the yelp deal, $150 in services for $115, and feel our charges were inflated. $55 for a basic pedi and gel mani is high and the board stated $45 & up-but I had NO add ons. All of our services seemed to be more expensive than reflected on the pricing board and we were not given an explanation. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars. Very cute/clean salon with good technicians and a great selection of colors. read more

Eh. In town visiting and needed a pedicure. The tech who did my service was ok. I've had worse. But I've had better. I thought the polish selection was eh. Could have had more colors and set up nicely (it was a hodge podge vs in color order like most places I'm used to). read more

Don't be ripped off. There is NO such thing as powder gel nails. Gel nails are a thick liquidy type product, that must be applied layer by layer cured under a light, buffed and another layer applied to build up the artificial nail. I clearly explained what I wanted. The woman there said yes we do gel nail. Okay, then the younger guy who was to do my nails, cut my nails off, glued tips on, and pulled out a jar of powder, I repeated my request for gel nails to be done, and again explained the process to an older guy who had now just arrived. He said, "no this new product", I asked to see the manufacturers container that the original product came in not the one with the hand printed sticker that says gel on the table. He went to the counter and first showed me another container of the same ( the one that they made) No, I want to see the one that came from the company that you used to fill this one with, he returned with the container the first ingredient was ACRYLIC. They will put a set of acrylic nails on for $25.00 but if you ask for gel they will sell you the same stuff for $45.00. I questioned him about this and he played off like their was a language barrier, that was not there 20 mins ago. Also when you go to a salon and you ask for gel and all you get is a top coat of nail polish that is light cured yes, technically it is a gel type product, but this is also not a set of gel nails. All acrylic nail require a mortimore (powder) and polyamide (liquid) to combine in order for a chemical reaction which is what causes the hardening. And require a etching primer. And some people are highly allergic to them. So having a salon that lies to you about what you are getting is not good. And being out right ripped off is definitely not a good thing! Also if the nail salon you are using takes a drill bit from the drawer, it should have been cleaned and sterilized between each use. This they also did not do, and he nicked me and I bled so think about that when you go. While some folks are happy that they have their own nice little plastic container for their personal files... these files are made to either be disposed of or sanitized after each use. Ladies think about it this way... if you put something in a sealed plastic box that is damp what happens to it? It molds and bacteria multiply. Salons are held to a certain standard, and have sanitation rules to follow if the salon your going to is not following the guidelines,eventually you will be harmed. I'm visiting the myrtle beach area for work. My coworker and I did walk ins. I got a mani and pedi. the service was horrible the pedicure was terrible. First the woman barely got all the old polish off my toes, the message of the feet and legs was very lazy. My manicure did not consist of water she placed bags on my hands and put lotion in the bags, then wiped the lotion off with a towel. The gel polish was sloppily painted on and could have used a third coat. Me and my co worker was very disappointed with the service. I will not recommend this place. read more

Probably the worst nail salon visits ever. My mom and sister got manicures and I got a pedicure. The man doing my pedi kept looking at my chest, barely did the foot/leg massage, it felt like he pushed my cuticles all the way up to my ankles and only put one coat of the polish I picked out on. My mom said that was the fastest mani she ever got, the woman skipped out on over half of what should have been done, and no hand massage! My sister on the other hand got great service, the guy really took his time with her and her nails look great. This was the first and last time my family will go here. read more

This nail place is not the greatest quality. My sister and I went to get a gel manicure and she got a woman and I got the man. Her nail specialist payed attention to detail and really made her nails look nice. My sister was done with her manicure before me. My male specialist on the other hand was the opposite. He was sloppy with his work and left gel nail polish on my cuticles and skin, of which he didn't trim properly. Then he was about to leave my nails with only two coats of gel, which I could still see my nails through, so I had to ask for one more coat. Throughout this whole process, he was very loudly smacking his gum and humming to the music. I finished with my manicure much later than my sister. I do not recommend this place at all and would suggest that you find somewhere else to get your nails done. read more

Never had my nails hurt for two days after having them done! She filed around my nail bed and made me bleed on 3 different fingers! I do mean the skin around my nails. Not to mention glue and other residue left all around my nails. You're only important if you're a regular. read more
