I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I've never written a review before, but I agree with the post below mine. I went in today to have my jacket cleaned. She (I'm assuming the same woman) yelled at me that if I want my jacket washed, I should do it myself and that my jacket was "messed up and ruined already." I proceeded to tell her I wanted it dry cleaned and tried to give her my information. She started yelling at me about my area code and when I said I'll take my jacket somewhere else, she yelled at me again! I told her that I'm the customer, so would she please stop yelling at me. And she just kept yelling until I walked out. Uh, no thanks! read more

It may be inexpensive to have your clothing cleaned here, but the woman in charge is very rude. Twice, she has yelled at me. Literally, yelled. The last time I was there was because my cat knocked a dress of mine into her litter while I was out of town. Fortunately, there was just a bit of litter on the dress (no urine or excrement). I brushed most of it off and took it to Fancy Care, because it is very close to my apartment. The woman there (it's always the same one) noticed the small bit of remaining pine litter on the dress and immediately started yelling and asking me why I had not used a lint brush on the dress prior to coming there! "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO WITH THIS??" she screamed. "Nothing," I replied. "I will take my business elsewhere." I immediately drove down University City Blvd. to Elite Cleaners, which is next to the Town Centre Harris Teeter, and was greeted warmly. There, I was told that the litter issue was "not a problem at all." From now on, I will be paying the extra buck or so to be treated with respect. read more

If I could give this cleaners 0 stars I would. The owner was very very unreasonable. I took my wedding dress to be preserved, cleaned and out into box to display my wedding dress. They assured me this would be done. When I picked up my dress the first time, all you were able to see in the box window was fabric, you could not see my dress. After x5 conversations with multiple people they agreed to re fold my dress so you could see the dress. After 2 more weeks of waiting for the dress we went to pick it up today and there was a bright green hanger in the box with my dress. I ask if they could take it out and they said we would have to come back in a week and that we should have called to tell them, even though we had no idea about the hanger. I would NEVER recommend anyone going to this cleaners and the staff is rude and unreasonable. They did not care about my wedding dress and likely did not even preserve the dress. I will be reaching out to everyone I know to let them know not to give their business to them. read more

This place was not doing a good job in getting stains out in the past. We were using them because of convenience - very close to our residence. On several occasions they had to redo the cleaning one or more times. The woman at the desk is loud and rude. Our last visit was the final drop to the bucket. She refused the service - cleaning of the ladies dress with very few little stains. She stated that my wife is too "picky" and she was not going to take any clothes from us for the service. This to me is a blatant discrimination and lack of basic business common sense and ethic. We just left the place with no further comments and decided to take the business elsewhere. I have to say this is the worst dry cleaner I have ever experienced, poor customer service and over price dry clean service. I took my favorite pair of black jeans requested no starch or creases. Picked up jeans today to find gray it appears they washed them in hot water and put them in dryer on high heat. After mentioning the condition of jeans bitter lady informs because I requested no starch my jeans was wash and not dry cleaned but I was still charged for dry cleaning instead of laundry service. Review from today. I have been a very loyal customer of Fancy Care for more than 5+yrs. I have even dealt with previous issues that happen just by simple chance of occurrence. I went in today to return some pants that had clearly not been cleaned properly. I reviewed the problem spots with the owner as well as a piece of candy paper that was still in the pocket and a spot on the pants that was not present when I originally presented them to be cleaned. The pants were new pants that had been worn maybe twice. She communicated that the spots were missed, which were pretty obvious spots. The one that I identified that was not there initially she communicated that when you clean an item that defects will show up. I can partially agree with her there, but these two spots were definitely not on my pants when I dropped them off. She communicated to me that this could never happen there. She said that they really don't have the ability (by the equipment used) to make mistakes so it is impossible that the spots could have happened in their shop. I guess "the customer is always right " is something that really doesn't happen there. I was willing to allow her to clean them again because of the long term relationship that I had with their cleaners, but after her response of the cleaners being perfect and that I had to place those spots on my pants before bringing them there. I changed my mind and made this the last straw. I thanked her for the long time business and communicated to her that I would take my business to a new cleaners. Where is customer service? read more
