Some of the women have a language barrier but you don't feel out of place while they converse to each other and never engage with you. They are professional, polite, and prices are the same around. A great little nail salon in Milwaukie. I've had a couple of pedicures here, and they were both good. I like the basics: good massage chairs, good polish selection, pleasant technicians, efficient and quality work, and nice massages. They do a nice job here. I've found my neighborhood nail place: yay! Update: I'm still coming here every 3 weeks or so. It's not fancy, but it's clean. The staff are friendly and work hard, but there is definitely a range of skill levels. Also, they autoclave any tool they use on your digits. That's reassuring to see them break open the sterile packages. That alone is worth visiting here. They also use liners on all pedicure tubs. read more

They did a good job on my nails, but not the best, and for just French tips, no art, it was $68. They didn't do a good job of color matching the base polish either and I didn't notice until I left that you can see the filing on my nails under that polish. Recently, I have been seeing Kenny, a nail tech here, and he has been doing a fantastic job with my nails and the nail art, plus he always strikes up a nice and engaging conversation, and he enjoys his job which is very refreshing to see! Do not go to this nail salon. I went in today to have acrylic removed and the nail tech said it would be easy to do. She first cut the nail then proceeded to pry the acrylic off with a cuticle nipper. When I complained and told her she ripped my nail off, she said that's the usual way of removing acrylic. When I said I wanted it done differently, she had the audacity to get mad and make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. She also told me to feel free to go elsewhere and have my nails done the way I want them done. This lady was so disrespectful. She left and had someone else finish while my nails were soaking in acetone. I have never felt so disrespected in a nail salon before. Horrible service. I am looking for a new place to have my nails taken care of and I found it. Fancy Nails is welcoming and clean. Great start. There were 4 of us inclluding my 91 year old mom. The reason I didn't give a 5 rating was wait time. We had a 1:00 pm appointment and didn't get started until 1:20. There were other customers who came in after our group and with the managing of all customers, two of our group waited to have their nails done. We ended up leaving 2 hours later. That being saiid, the manicures and the pedicures were amazing! Care was taken for each service. The quality of the service was superior. The technicians each apologized for the wait time. I was given a gift certificate for my next visit. The choices of services was the best I have ever experienced. I will be back. read more

I had brought my friend and I too salon for a relaxing time and get toes and nails done . I had to stop one of nail techs due to cutting a area on my toe she proceeded to spray alcohol on it I said several times it's stinging and to please put water in bowl she did not here me over all the techs speaking loudly in there language. That was not my issue the fact they had paid no attention to what I was saying . I never had my toes or nails painted the color I chose and ended up very upset . They ended up charging me over 200 . The nail tech cut my cuticle and put super glue in my bloody cut. Who knows how many bloody toes and fingers also touched that super glue. Also why super glue?! She was also wearing gloves that she did not change in between customers. She was wearing a mask but not covering her nose. The paint job was very sloppy. A liner was used in the bowl but she instructed me to put my feet back in the bowl after she took it out. The bowls were not cleaned between customers either. What is the point in using single use plastics and gloves if you don't use them properly. Overall this place was very dirty. read more

I visited on a whim, while in town the day before my trip to the coast. They were able to fit me in right away. They were incredibly friendly and made me very comfortable. I appreciated the liners in the foot tubs for sanitation. The selection of nail colors was almost overwhelming. It is a lovely salon, full of technicians who obviously pay attention to their crafts and value the experience of the guest. I received a discount as it is under new management. If I could give them zero stars I would - DO NOT GO HERE. First, let me say this is such a dirty salon. I should have walked out at the first sight of the actual most disgustingly dirty fish tank I've ever seen but the women were nice and sat me right away so I gave it a try. I asked for a dip manicure - the woman said they did that but had NO idea what she was doing and it was apparent. The dip powder was not sticking and then she brought out shellac and started mixing the two (do not ever let anyone do this to you!) I said "no I don't want shellac I want dip" she told me their salon "does both together" uhhhh not a thing, it will ruin your nails and peel or crumble off. When I tried to say "no" again, she said that's the only way she could do it. Again she had NO idea what she was doing so I believe her intent was to switch to shellac all together. I nicely asked her to take off the clear coats she had started with and I would go somewhere else. She was angry, drilled at my nails, told me to go wash my hands and nothing had come off. She said "okay you're done" - when I said "no I want it off" she got mad again and said "fine I'll soak it off"... at that time I said forget it I can soak it myself and then she TRIED TO CHARGE ME $10 for a cuticle trim... that she never did!!! I've given this shop 10+ tries, mostly because the first few visits were so positive. After today though, I just can't go back. I called in advance, to make sure they had time for a pedi. I said I could be there in 10, they asked for 20 - no problem. It turned out to be 55 minutes before someone started on me. If you're too busy, I can respect that. But don't waste my time. And then, the job that was done turned out terribly. They have maybe 2 trained and skilled workers. The rest of them do no better than what I could come up with, maybe even worse. I came here the first time and they did a great job on my toes. I had to get acrilic nails for a wedding I was in and I asked them not to make them thick but they were huge and looked awful. One nail was wider than my finger. The whole experience was very expensive. I decided to go again and give them another chance (remember they did do a great job on my toes). This time I just went to get a gel manicure. My nails were wondering short... They broke after the fake ones we take off. The last told me that they don't look good because of how short they were. They give you a shoulder massage at fancy nails which I thought would be awesome. It lasted two minutes. The phone rang right when she was going to switch from my left side to my right. Well my right side never got the massage. Then when they put lotion on your arms, less then 30 seconds each. My nails look like something an 8 year old would get... Icing on the cake? Got overcharged for the whole thing. I originally thought there was a fluke with the acrylic nails not being nice but now I see the fluke was getting a good pedicure the first time I went in. This is a negative review. I am giving 5 stars because I have never had any issues before and I've always been happy with the quality. Last week I came in for dip nails and the girl with glasses and chin length hair think her name started with a N. She didn't do my cuticles it took her over an hour to paint my nails. She filed them way too far down. Usually dip lasts me 2 and a half weeks. It's peeling off and it hasn't even been a week. Don't go to that chick hope my description is good enough. For as much money as this costs it should last more than 5 or 6 days read more

I want to start off by saying I don't like to complain or write less- than- nice things about people or businesses. I've had my nails done many times before, shellac is the type of nail I'm most familiar with. This is my second time to this particular salon and my first solar nail experience. I didn't mind waiting about half an hour in a chair as I didn't have appointment on a Friday afternoon. I didn't mind the overall amount of time that the service took. What made me most sad was that over half of my nail cuticles had been sliced open with the drill. The manicurist did apologize for cutting me, the problem was that every time she made her rounds with the drill to adhere the nail, she would reopen the cuts. After my appointment, not only my fingers but my hands stung for over two hours. My nails do look pretty. The staff was nice. I'm just iffy on if I ever want acrylics again. It's possible this could just be an off day, or that she is newer, or that she hasn't had as much practice with this nail service. read more

Greeted warmly and received nice treatment and a solid Pedicure. I was the only patron in - it was a little after 10am. They politely offered beverages, I asked for a hot tea. They allowed me to select from a menu of offerings. I liked that they didn't push any one service. I went for the medium priced Pedicure, $30, hot paraffin treatment. It was efficient, but thorough, they had a great selection of polishes, OPI and other. I hope they do well. They accepted my Debit Card. I helped myself to a few candies out the door. read more

Nancy (loan) did such a good job! She spent a long time (1.5) hours on my gel nails and every minute was worth it! I did ask to correct a crooked nail as it was being applied and it was saved:) She followed my many wishes and advice. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she followed it to the T! I would like to start off by saying that I do not normally write negative reviews for places but this nail salon was probably the worst place I have ever visited to get my nails done. I walked in today to get a full set of shellac nails and the technician was very rough and she even cut my finger open to where I was bleeding and burned me a few times with her grinder. Although she kept apologizing they did not offer to reduce the price of my nails or offer to make it right in any way she just kept apologizing. This is hands down the best nail salon I've been too. They paint your nails perfectly every single time which I have never found. Perfectly! The pedicures are amazing.
