We love Fancy Sushi. They are extremely friendly when you dine-in, and are always giving you free sushi while you wait for your food. They have all the standard rolls plus a menu full of their specialty rolls/. All of there sushi is fresh and delicious. They also do hibachi meals. The only downside is they don't cook it in front of you. Recently we ordered via DoorDash due to the pandemic that we are all experiencing. The quality did not change still great food at a great price. If your near Oakleaf and looking for some good sushi I recommend them. The HWY-17 Roll is my favorite. I place an order for pick up tonight. I clearly put on the order no cheese on both of my sushi rolls. On my way to pick up my order, I was called and told that the Holiday Roll was ore made and came with cream cheese. I was told when I picked up my order that I would be refunded. Cool. I have eaten here a few times and everytime it gets better. This time my son came along. He has not been here since they first opened over a year ago. At that time, he was not too impress, since he compares all sushi place with one he really likes. I had him order four different sushi. Luck dragon, Jaguar, dynamite and the mango one. I have never had a problem with this establishment until today! I ordered sushi and hibachi I didn't like the yellow tail in the sushi so 1 out of 3 were good. When it comes time to pay the lady approached our table and said if you don't like sushi don't order it. I love sushi I just didn't like the yellow tail she continues to say then don't order sushi and you obviously don't like sushi. I tried cutting her off by saying I just wanna pay and leave and keep on! I just kept saying okay but she wanted to argue! lady with the long black hair is very disrespectful! Finally a good sushi restaurant on the Westside. This place has became my go to spot for lunch or for just sushi. The always give you a free appetizer fried sushi which I love. Presentation is always A-1 as with their service. Sometimes when I visit I may experience a small slip up, but nothing worth complaining about. Fancy sushi is the best. read more

A good little sushi restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The serving sizes are massive, I definitely only needed to order one roll.... I ordered the Fancy Q roll and the mango roll. I had no complaints about either, but.... the rolls are huge. That is why I'm only give 4 stars. The rolls were hard to eat because they were too big. Great, newish spot for tasty, Americanized sushi and what not. Jax has seen places like this time and again; delicious sushi rolls, hibachi-style food and friendly service. I went in after lunch so it wasn't full and had to wait about 5 mins before being seated because hostess was taking an order. I'm not sure if they heard me or saw me walk in. However, I think they figured out when they gave me a sample roll on the house which was super yummy!!!! I got the Sashimi and Sushi Lunch Combo with Miso Soup as well as a side of Seaweed Salad. When I tell you it was a beautiful display of food and yummy too!! I believe this is closer than my normal Sushi place. And everything is still new since they opened recently. Tried this new spot out today with a small party of 3. I typically eat at a Southside sushi place frequently and I have to admit, Fancy Sushi is a strong competitor. I ordered 3 of their raw lunch special rolls (tuna, spicy tuna, and spicy salmon) and they were large portions for lunch rolls and they don't skimp on the fish. I was pleasantly surprised. I also ordered 2 pieces of salmon and tuna sashimi. The slices were extremely generously sized for the price and they were some of the freshest tasting sashimi slices I've ever eaten. My dining partners also ordered 3 rolls each and they both thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We were brought a complimentary appetizer, I assume this is due to their recent opening. The server was friendly and polite and was on top of refills and bussing. One of us had our order brought out wrong but they quickly corrected it and discounted the rolls which was more than I would ever ask for. The atmosphere is lovely! Way more than I expected for a shopping plaza sushi place. Really nicely appointed and clean. I highly recommend trying this place out! read more

I tried this spot for takeout the other night. I got sushi and chicken and shrimp hibachi. The fancy dragon roll was delicious and so was the holiday roll. The holiday roll is on the sweeter side FYI. As for the hibachi, the meat portion was a little underwhelming. I got 5 pieces of shrimp and the chicken was chopped in big chunks, it was kinda dry. This place was so disappointing. Our go to sushi place is Oishi Sushi, but it was closed so we decided to give fancy sushi a try. The sushi was okay but the fried sushi breading was kind of soggy. Sunday (Mother's Day) 6pm. To go order. $38 Chicken Katsu with fried rice, ginger salad, and clear soup. Chicken was cooked well, not greasy. Fried rice was sparse on ingredients but actually fried and tasted great. The vegetables were also cooked well. Clear soup was also prepared well and tasted as it should. Salad was again fresh and included lettuce, one thin slice of cucumber, and some carrot shreds. Ginger dressing was very good. Philly roll- tasted good with perfect rice, the roll was fairly loose and fell apart though. 8-pieces Cali roll- tasted good with fresh ingredients. 8-pieces Highway 17 roll- this one was YUGE. 12 or more pieces. It tasted good, fresh ingredients, but was a little undercooked and mushy batter. May have been better dining in. In all a very good experience. For a popular place this totally astounded me. I ordered Hibatchi chicken. There was NO seasoning except oil. The veg was limp. On the side we also ordered their special of the day Hawaiian Roll and it was beautifully done, not sloppy or slathered in senseless sauces or aioli. Just the fresh tuna topped with fresh and perfectly seasoned seaweed salad and panko to give it a delicate balance of soft and crunch. This is a hidden Gem and I love it. I've eaten here twice and it was delicious. First off, they gave me a sample of Fried Tempura. I have the CRUNCHY ROLL and Kani Salad. What a pleasant experience! Ate a filling meal and was even given a small free nicely decorated desert (coffee cake). I love how meticulous they are with their plates, presentation and flavors.
