This place is a hidden gem. I haven't gotten a roll here that I haven't loved. My favorite is the Pink Lady, but you really can't go wrong.

I came to Oishi Sushi twice this week when I went out to Orange Park for work. I love it! I enjoyed the atmosphere, had excellent service, and the food was great and very reasonably priced. Called in and ordered food Togo so can't comment on dining in but the workers seemed very kind and friendly! My sister and I got the salmon hand roll, rainbow roll and the pink lady roll. The salmon hand roll was pretty large and they were generous with the amount of raw salmon as well. The rainbow roll was super fresh I loved the tuna salmon and white fish on top with the avocado. Usually I'm not a huge fan of white fish sushi but this one didn't taste fishy at all and was great. The pink lady is fried shrimp crab stick topped with lemon and tuna. I usually steer away from fried sushi rolls but this one was excellent. All three of these rolls I would highly recommend. The best part too is it's super affordable! It was around $30 for us both. My sister lives in Jax and said this is the best sushi place in her area. I would for sure return back here! read more

Pretty darn good! Only one server for whole restaurant(it is very small maybe 10 tables at most) so she was busy running around. We got the last table when we arrived for a later dinner on Sunday night. They give a sample of sushi on the house and a small dessert on the house! Very nice gesture. Food came out prompt and service was prompt and friendly. Gyoza app was so good and so was all the rolls we ordered! Father in law had that chicken fried rice and it was huge portion- he liked it! I ordered the chicken hibachi with clear soup and rice. The fried rice side was bland, the clear soup was very good but the chicken in my meal was tough and over cooked. Those are my only complaints. Tonight we had a taste for a hibachi dinner and decided to try Oishi Sushi. The restaurant is small and busy with to go orders but the staff was very polite. They even greeted us with a free little appetizer as we sat down. The shrimp and steak hibachi were both great size portions and cooked with a variety of vegetables to the perfect level of tenderness. These dinners came with our choice of fried or white rice and choice of salad or miso soup. The miso soup also had a nice proportionate amount of tofu and seaweed in broth. The salad with ginger dressing was also very good. We also had the Chicken Katsu which I forgot to take a photo of but it was perfectly breaded and fried. We also had a good amount of leftovers so you definitely get your money's worth with meals for the next day's lunch. read more

This used to be our favorite sushi spot, but the last couple of times we have visited we have changed our minds. The sushi is excellent, but the service isn't. They used to offer each time, a taste of sushi, that you didn't order ( nice touch) but no more, they used to offer a small piece of chiffon cake for dessert, but no more. We had to wait over 10 minutes to have our drinks refreshed after I had to bring it to their attention. They have also raised their prices an average of $2 per item. There was 1 person at the sushi bar when we came in, and 2 to-go orders picked up. It wasn't busy but y'all, go here! Keep them in business! The Clear Soup was DELICIOUS! Not too salt and definitely flavorful; it wasn't watered down broth. And on the watered-down topic, the Shrimp Sauce was great too! Not too watered down and full of flavor. My daughter ordered the Chicken Hibachi for she and I to share. Note: it was dinner time but our waitress said she'd give her the lunch portion so it would be smaller. How kind of her to offer! But we said no, we wanted to dinner. The baby loves mushrooms (strange, right?) so that was the first veggie I grabbed. I ate it. I kid you not, I am not exaggerating, it tasted 110% like Marsala Sauce. Like, Italian Food. Chicken Marsala. We were cracking up! It wasn't bad by any means, but it was NOT an expected flavor! I expected that signature hibachi flavor, not marsala. And yes, the entire dish the entire time tasted like Marsala. My husband ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. He enjoyed it...I had a bite and their teriyaki sauce didn't jump out at me. It could have been the "marsala" was still overwhelming my palate. I didn't find it flavorful. The fried rice my daughter wasn't crazy about. My husband and I didn't mind it; he said there was a "different" flavor to it and he was right, but neither of us could quite place what it was. My husband would order the Teriyaki again, but I personally wouldn't order anything from the kitchen. Sushi! YES! Absolutely a reason to come back and the BEST Sushi I've found in the Fleming Island area! All the sushi came out on one HUGE plate, which made me realize...we ordered a heck of a lot of sushi! They brought us 3 pieces of something to start with; it was fried, it had cream cheese, and it had almost like a pepper jelly on top. Not sure if it was a chef's creation or something off the menu. We ordered: Spicy Tuna - it even had some crunchies in it, which was a nice touch. Key West Roll (Raw; cucumber, conch, spicy mayo, fish egg, scallion) - my FAVORITE! And a last-minute decision to order. I had never heard of conch being eaten raw. So I ordered it, realized it was raw, scratched it out, googled to make sure conch could be eaten raw, and then decided to take the plunge and go for it. Pepper Tuna Roll (fried shrimp, avocado, topped with peppered tuna, and eel sauce) - my least favorite, which is surprising because I am tuna obsessed. But the peppered tuna on top, as odd as this may sound, almost had a BBQ flavor to it. I wanted some PEPPER flavor, but BBQ. Special Volcano Roll (eel, avocado, cream cheese, deep fried and topped with baked krab delight and scallop) - yum! Pink Lobster Roll (lobster salad, crunchy, avocado, cream cheese with soy bean, spicy mayo, eel sauce) - wrapped in what I can only assume is soy bean, it came out in a pink wrapper not a seaweed wrapper. I enjoyed the sushi, however the Special Volcano and the Pink Lobster rolls I had a hard time grasping and appreciating the full flavor due to the cream cheese. The cream cheese seemed to overpower the roll and once I bit into the cream cheese, it seemed to take over. Next time, I'll forego cream cheese all together and ask for cucumber in place. Overall though, I was pleasantly surprised and happy to find such great sushi! I did mention it was my husband birthday before he walked in, so they bought out a mini dessert for him. Y'all, it was Tiramisu. So apparently this is a sushi restaurant with an Italian flair, ha! read more

Let's break it down... Soup - Too salty Rice - Too Greasy Sushi - Mediocre at best Bento Box - The deep fried portion needs to go away The ambiance reminds me of a Chinese restaurant. Don't take your date here if you want to impress them with Japanese decor. Hubby decided to dine here last night as he was in the mood for sushi, so why not check this place out. Not to give you all too much of our wonderful experience but hubby ordered green tea, hot and I had the sweet tea of which were both amazing. The soup we chosen was very good. We both picked Bento boxes except hubby had teriyaki salmon and I had chicken. Tonight was my first time having shrimp and such a treat it was YUM. I ordered fried rice on the side as I wanted to see how it tasted. Boy was it GOOD!!! Unfortunately I was not able to finish everything so it is all filling and very delicious. For desert hubby wanted to try the fried cheesecake as I tried some as well ;) . This was very, very good. They even added a little mango cake on there of which was very nice of them.
