Wait Staff were friendly and empowered. Restaurant was clean and casual. Needed some minor maintenance here and there. Food was good. I had the spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce had a good tomato flavor but lacked other vegetables. I asked to have vegetables added to the sauce but they did not have any. The rest of our party had standard menu items and all were served hot with good flavor. We went on a Monday night around 5:30pm and had to wait about 30 minutes. read more

Came here with the fam tonight, we got a sandwich, pizza, pasta dishes. The cheese tortellini was VERY over cooked, still ate it though, I try to never send food back. My husband ordered the sausage sandwich, it was a bit rubbery, honestly. They changed their fries too, recently?? Appeared/tasted like pre-seasoned frozen fries we could make at home? Not bad, but prefer the original. The kids pizza was good, super hot right out of the oven when the waitress brought it out to us. Sad part was the side of bread (plain) brought to the table- had the consistency of raw dough, as if they took it out of the oven too soon. The garlic bread was delicious, we'd ordered a side of it plus my dinner came with it as an option. All of it was brought out in one basked but the waitress didn't tell us this, so at first I thought she'd forgotten to bring my garlic bread out with my meal. When she explained there were two orders in the basket she'd previously brought out it made more sense, but you'd think you would say that when you bring it out to us? Oh well, not a big deal, we still got what we paid for! The waitress is another story though I think. I couldn't really explain my feeling about her. Soft and kind voice but seemed to have no desire to genuinely make sure things were good with us. She'd ask us sure, but the minute we said "it's good", she was already in the process of saying "okay" and walking away to talk to another one of her tables? She was also stacking tables we noticed, having worked as a waitress in the past, I know this is a pretty big no-no as it backs the kitchen up (and the place wasn't exactly "dead" tonight). Table next to us got their order taken AFTER us and they got all of their food BEFORE we had all of our dishes? Hm, okay? I wish I'd gotten her name but alas, I didn't. She was middle-aged, busty, brown hair, worked on Thursday Jan 17, 2019 and we were in around 4:30-4:45pm. The owners are friendly and the atmosphere is what an Italian family restaurant should be like. They do get busy! Salad dressing is the best! Sauce has that simple home cooked taste. This used to be an excellent restaurant that we frequented weekly for 40 years but the food quality has gone downhill so bad I would never recommend this to anybody. If I could rate it a 0 I would. The owners/management should not be in business. They have no clue how to take care of customers. For the last two years we have continued to try it to see if they are back on track but The food continues to go downhill. they are incredibly rude to all their customers and don't care because they have all their geriatric clientele that continue to go and eat this cheap food. We tried Amici's for the first time with open minds and wanting to support a local business through Covid. Severely disappointed. Our meal was lukewarm. Also there's only two choices for pasta sauce - marinara and Alfredo. Both were bland. Salad was definitely bagged. The meat was also not hot. My husband and I got home and literally ran into the house with upset stomachs. Long story short, I think we both had food poisoning. I've been coming here forever. It's where North Denver Italians come for Italian food. The salad is fresh and delicious! Not fancy but their Italian is the best dressing I've ever had. It's bright on the palate, so if you like that bold in your face flavor of balsamic vinegar you'll love this! The ranch is also very good. The pasta is amazing, and my favorite is the spaghetti. They have thicker style noodles that is a true North Denver staple. (If you're a local you know what I mean!) The sauce is perfectly perfect. It's not too sweet or chunky, it's the right consistency and the spice and zip are spot on! Even the pizza is good. I recommend Pepperoni Sausage and Mushroom. They do not skimp you on the toppings! There are two reasons this restaurant doesn't get a perfect score and that is: 1. They seem to have a machine pressing their pizza crusts these days. Last time it was waaaay to thin and even to be hand pressed. It wasn't bad or anything but it didn't have the charm of a hand pressed crust. Am I weird for liking to dip it in the left over dressing like a bread stick? 2. When you get a pizza with bell pepper and onion, they put way way way too much on. It's gotten better than it was, but even then it needs a good 60% less if you're going to put such large cubed pieces on. It over whelms the pizza and you can't taste anything else. It also throws off the texture of the cheese. I still love this place and will drive to the other side of town when I want good Italian. read more

First time here and I was not impressed. The chicken Alfredo was bland, lacked any real flavor. The sauce was chunky and had an oatmeal texture which made us want to throw it out. Our family has been coming to Amici's for over 15 years and was definitely our "go-to" restaurant for great Italian food. Lately it seems that Amici's has gone downhill. Their homemade pasta noodles are still excellent, but their marinara sauce, and especially their customer service, has slipped dramatically. A few of us went to eat dinner here last night and were very disappointed by the water buffalo's attitude that took our drink order. Makes me wonder if she is newer because we've never seen this employee at Amici's. Her attitude shouted she hated life and everyone in it and a face to match it. The food this time around was subpar and the sauce tasted like it was out of a can. Hopefully Amici's ownership steps their game up and gets back to how this establishment used to be. The restaurant has really nice, open seating with tons of booths running along the front against huge windows. The staff are always super friendly and fast and the food is consistent and just wonderful Italian. They have great family style meals so it's also a great place for large groups. read more

I have been eating here for 32 years and have never been treated the way I was today. I ordered 2 Jumbo pizzas and both were wrong when I got home. I called back and the lady that answered the phone all but accused me of lying. She said she checked them herself? She finally said she would send me 1 coupon for a pizza. When I was a child I use to go to a place called Amici's that was a couple of miles away from this location. I grew up and that placed closed and I never thought I would have it again. Well my mom said do you want to go to Amici's on Wadsworth its the say people who had the place on Sheridan so I LETS GO !!!! Place is exactly I remembered the old place as a kid. The salad was huge and took me back to my childhood, the Garlic bread was amazing and my entrée hit the spot. I cannot wait to go back and try more things. AMAZING !!!!! read more

Italian is not my go to cuisine. I really only eat it when my boyfriend suggests it. And I typically prefer the non pasta(starchy) side of Italian food. That being said, this place was amazing. I was incredibly impressed, I will be making it apart of our go to places for a good meal. As far as the service, it was just as good as the food. The staff is wonderful, polite, and efficient. The woman at the register is on the ball and doesn't seem to miss a beat. I can understand why there was a complaint about her, she values the staff and probably doesn't take too kindly to people complaining when they are obviously slammed. Which I respect, customers need to be more compassionate to the service industry. Over all, 100% recommend this restaurant. read more

When my father and I entered the restaurant I noticed the hostess was not wearing a mask, she had a scarf around her neck that she would occasionally pull up but clearly didn't care about keeping it up. My ELDERLY father and I ate, food was meh, and when we stopped at the counter to pay, I noticed that the hostess still wasn't wearing a mask. I said "it must be hard wearing a mask in the kitchen," to which she stated, "it is, especially when you've been working 10 hours," she then went on to say, "I feel sorry for the kids," I said, "well I'm a school teacher and kids won't be starting school in person, they'll be starting online so that'll be good for them, they won't have to be wearing masks in school," she then said, "well I feel sorry for kids because they need to be exposed to the virus, you know build their immune system, I've been doing a lot of research about this.," so I said, "oh I thought you were concerned about the kids because if they were in school, they'd be wearing a mask all day but that's not the case......I then went on to tell her that exposure to this virus wasn't going to make the kids immune to it, that hopefully we get a vaccine soon and she said, "polio killed a lot of people before and after the vaccine and there are more people dying from the common flu than this virus," to which I replied, "we're not going to agree on this." If my elderly immunocompromised father gets sick because of this woman not wearing a mask, I will file a civil suit against this restaurant for not complying with the mask mandate!! read more

First off they FAILED their health inspection with 12 CRITICAL HEALTH VIOLATIONS! My family has eaten here for years and had great report with the owners and staff, until the other night, apparently they no longer offer straws- at all. When my elderly father asked the waitress she told him to talk to the owner. The owner said if you don't like it don't come back. For a restaurant that got an F FROM THE HEALTH DEPARTMENt you think they might want to keep customers. It's ok it's not worth getting food poisoning! They don't care if they send you to the hospital not sure why Im surprised they have zero customer service skills. It's too bad, but not worth the risk!! read more

There is a lot of good Italian options in the Arvada area, but not on Mondays. Most Italian restaurants are closed on Monday. But not Amicis.
