Fannie's has an adorable setting that is perfect for brunch! The signature latte is incredible, as are all of the coffee drinks that I've tried! My favorite is the gruyere and veggie sandwich - anything that has their house made bread in the forefront is bound to be yummy!! We get a loaf to go almost every time. My husband likes the old fashioned cupcakes, they aren't overly sweet. I would caution that getting a meal with drinks can run you $50 and up for breakfast (let me say that includes 2 cupcakes). Also, this place can be swamped Saturday and Sunday from 10-1, can be hard to get a table (the secret is out about the delicious food!). read more

This place is amazing. Stopped in after the farmers market to grab a drink, found the ladies super friendly. Their lemonade so refreshing & the bread with butter and strawberry jam was amazing. Fannie's I have been there three times. Love the concept, and the food is all home made, fresh and delicious. The menue was great for breakfast but I thought should have offered a few more options for lunch . ( atleast three Speciality sandwiches as opposed to just the one) ... The only problem I see here is the seating. The seating set up is horrible and not accommodating. The couch though nice if the place was more spacious should be removed to accommodate another table or two.( depending on how they rearrange the entire center seating , and that needs to be done) The butcher block island as you walk in and huge wooden square table off to the right take up too much room and don't allow the tables to be set up for a nice flow. Each time I went with a few friends we almost left because of seating issues, the last time we had to leave, there was just wasn't anywhere to sit except that huge table with backless stools which neither of us could sit on. This place could be great and around forever, but won't last too long if people have to wait around for seating or can't wait and leave like we had to do. I hope they fix this problem because it really is a nice little place with food that was cooked, baked, a presented with thought and care ...I love that ! Wish them much luck and a way to rearrange the seating to accommodate what could easily be( Because of the quality ) a growing number in customers ! read more

I would rate a restaurant as a whole experience not just on food. We chose this restaurant because it has very high rating. We stood and waited for 25 minutes for a table. We were seated and waited for a FULL Hour for our food. We went in very hungry. Asked for another cup of coffee, waited 10 minutes and had to ask again. Asked for some hot sauce, but never came. I have been to Fannie's multiple times and have always had a great experiences. When my friends and I walked in today we could tell it was busy, but we decided to wait on the couch. After 30 minutes, our drink orders were taken as we were told we would get a certain table once it cleared up. After having our drinks for 10 minutes, our food orders were taken and we still thought we were getting a table. However, our food orders were brought out, and we were asked to eat at the waiting table and couch, both of which are very low to the ground. We were struggling to eat our breakfast and we were sitting next to the door which made for a cold time. Everyone who was coming into the place was hovering over us as they were waiting. As if this place couldn't have gotten any better...couldn't decide on what to eat so I got two things. The blood orange French toast was unreal but the lamb meatballs on a homemade baguette with tomato sauce, goat cheese and kalamata olives put me over the moon. Drooling as I'm writing this. They cut no corners at this place. When you read their menu and something sounds good, it is about a million times better when you actually get it. A humble menu to say the least. This food is life changing. One of the local farmers they get produce from even stopped by while I was there to make a delivery. Doesn't get more farm to table than that. Went in for a cupcake which was amazing. Today I went with my mother to finally have a meal. 30 minute wait. Mom had cornmeal crepes with locally farmed veggies in an some sort of onion purée...omg . I had a pancake with egg and sausage with rosemary potatoes. I loved the pancake, the sausage had a scrapple texture that I wasn't fond of, the potatoes had an amazing flavor although the texture was more of a kettle fried chip...really good, but I wasn't expecting the crunch and prefer it a bit softer. My husband had a sausage and egg sandwich with potatoes which he ate every bite of and he loved. We had amazing an meatball appetizer. Desert was bread pudding. It was a bit dry but the flavor was amazing with the blueberries in it. My husband had the crepe with fig, blueberry and strawberry, which he also really loved. It was all fresh tasting food, artfully presented in a vintage French country decor. The wait staff was less attentive than I would have liked, but overall we loved our experience read more

Fannies is my absolute favorite restaurant. They use the freshest local ingredients like local eggs, meat, seafood and so much fresh vegetables. They are put together in delicious and imaginative combinations. The French toast is also amazing. It has some sort of magical sugar/bourbon crust on the outside like a crane brûlée. I love local farm to table restaurants and these folks really knocked it out of the park. Locally grown peaches French toast with homemade whipped cream and a homemade pork sausage was delicious. I really love this place. You feel like you're in a quaint breakfast and lunch eatery in Vermont. Very nicely crafted dishes. I had an omelet with fresh eggs, fresh herbs and a bit of feta cheese. Just so simple and fresh! It would have been nice if it came with a little bit of home fries, but it did come with some delicious homemade bread. Nice and yeasty. The potatoes that they make are so delicious that you should get a side of them for the table. My friend had eggs over easy, a side of homemade sausage patty which was delicious and side of a humongous buttermilk pancake with organic maple syrup. All delicious. The coffee is $4 a cup, but it also is outstanding! I'd say the cost is between two and three stars, but worth it for me. read more

Father's Day nightmare. If I could give negative stars to take away from another person's review, I would. We got put on the wait list at 1048am. We were told 30 minutes for an inside table, we were offered an outside table and declined. The wait was expected, being Father's Day , so we walked around the farmer's market and picked up some things. After returning 30 minutes later, we were offered an outside table (not ideal since it is hot and humid, but we agreed and patiently waited) the table sat uncleared, 5 feet from is for 15 minutes. At that point, a waitress came outside and said an inside table would be opening up :now: great, we'll take it. That table sat uncleared for another period of time. So long, in fact, my wife had time to walk to the car with our 18month old and change her diaper and breastfeed her. My wife's return corresponded with the interior table finally being cleared of dishes (I think the outside table was actually still dirty). After sitting at the table for 3-4 minutes we were finally greeted. Immediately I ordered eggs and toast for the baby and asked the waitress to put that in so it may come out first. She appeared* to do that. She came back and we placed our order. Orange juice and water for us both; omelette for my wife and the steak and eggs for myself. I had to stop the waitress from walking away to clarify how I wanted my steak cooked, since she didn't ask. Fast forward 35minutes, we've watched food come out and it looked fantastic. We've been wanting to try this place since they opened. I asked the waitress if she could check on my daughter's eggs since it's been over a half hour at this point. She says yes and walks away. I watched her go directly behind the counter, and begin talking to her coworker, not the chef, not a cook, another waitress, for several more minutes. At this point, we've waited 40 minutes for a table (while several were ready much earlier) we've been at this table with nothing but water and orange juice for almost 45. For eggs. 45. Minutes. For. Eggs. After specifically ordering them as soon as we sat to mitigate this exact situation. I'm not even sure the waitress knew she was at work or that her job was to bring food and clear tables. She spent more time interacting with her coworkers than customers. I understand this is a small place and all the food is "local and fresh" (they tell you on every sign and menu) but when I ordered eggs, I didn't think I'd be waiting for the chicken to lay them. We honestly expected to be done with BREAKFAST after sitting at the table for almost an hour. The frozen goods we purchased from the farmer's market were rapidly thawing in the car as we sat at a table with water and orange juice for 45 minutes. At this point, we left. We walked down the block and ate at cafe a la mode. It was terrific. My daughter's eggs were out of the kitchen and in front of her in the time it took for my wife to order, and walk to the counter for a muffin to hold her over. As soon as she opened the muffin the eggs appeared. We neglected to pay for the orange juice (which was fresh and terrific) and I think that hour and half of my life is worth whatever the O.J. costs. read more

They also have a stuffed animal curious george for little kids and that shows how considerate they are. Anyway, back to the food. The food here is made with love and is super good. they always have new special's so if you're that kind of person Fannie's has got you covered. There pancakes are huge and they come with eggs to. Also if you ask they will give you a side of whipped cream for your pancakes. They also have really good coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and lemonade. When the previous business at this location shut down, my husband and I went to check it out. He's a chef and we always dreamed of opening a place. We absolutely loved it, but the timing just wasn't right for us (ie, we didn't have the money). Ever since we passed it by I kick myself because no location nearly as cute has opened up since. So, I went to Fannie's today kind of wanting to hate it cause I was jealous they went for it and we wimped out. But, it was impossible to hate! The people that work there are great, especially our server who was super sweet. And the food......omg. I got the egg and cheese on their homemade baguette. I sometimes get grossed out by eggs but these were just perfect. And the bread, well, I haven't stopped thinking about it all day. I'm drooling a little thinking about it right now. Potatoes = awesome. Pancake = delicious. And, they don't exaggerate about everything being made from scratch - even down to the ketchup and hot sauce. Definitely going back! read more

Absolutely nothing happens quickly at Fannies. Service can run slow at times but the baked eggs and lentil salad all worth it. Specials are always interesting and hopping. Could eat there everyday! I love this place, the atmosphere is a little bit French country-chic charm. A little small but if you can get the window seat that's perfect. Baguettes for sandwiches are amazing. Best bread I've ever had. My veggie sandwich was very light on veggies however. Egg and cheddar baguette was great. The signature latte is amazing but at $6 per, a tad expensive. Next, the pancakes. They were delicious! $8 for 2 large pancakes that came with one tiny half a shot glass of syrup (not even enough for one pancake). We asked for more. And another and another. Get the bill and discover they charged $1 for every extra thimbleful of syrup!? So the pancakes were $8 and the syrup (while it was good real maple syrup) was an additional $5!!! I felt they should have provided enough syrup to accompany that size of pancakes, but at least should have told us each tiny condiment cup was $1.
