Fast Casual counter service then sit anywhere you want in padded booths. All day breakfast; cheese omelet comes with hash browns and your choice of toast. I had the sourdough toast and it was perfectly toasted. My omelette was fluffy and the hash browns crispy on top and soft underneath just like I like them!! Even the fresh cut lemon slices were delicious in my water. With my senior discount I got a fantastic meal for just under $10. I wish I lived closer so I could come here all the time! I do not know what happened to this location but I has gone way down hill. New staff is rude and disrespectful. never smiling and look like they just don't want to be there. Called in an order girl on phone hung up after only taking one item down and did not give me a order number like they have for the past twenty years. Got there and sure enough order was lost girl just walked away like she did nothing wrong. I Showed up at 8:55pm. The website and Google both say they close at 11:00pm. The sign on the door says they close at 11:00. The door is propped open, all the workers are still there. No closed sign is in the window and a group of three men had just placed an order. As I wait to place my order, the cashier, in a rude tone, tells me they are closed. I asked, "What time do you close?" She says 9:00pm. Well, it wasn't 9pm yet and they had just taken another order. I live near this place and usually go in there after 9:00 because of my work schedule. If you are going to close early, don't be rude about it and make a face like there is something wrong with me for expecting the place to be open. You just lost a customer for good. read more

Ordered a Patty Melt with grilled onions to go. Way too greasy. Tasteless meat and no crispiness to the bread. Order taker not very efficient or a good listener. Diner atmosphere typical and nothing special. Bill totaled around $7.50 and I paid with a $10.00 bill. No change was offered. I didn't complain because I was going to tip the extra to the jar. Maybe some people can't afford or prefer not to tip on a takeout order. Visited this location a few times over the years but never again! Expecting tips for takeout orders is obnoxious! We love coming to this cafe BUT an incident had left us really surprised at the employees' attitudes when dealing with customers. As a general rule, they are courteous only in person. We were at the cafe on Wednesday, June 4 around 11:15 am. Lots of food left and we put them into a big carry-out box. My daughter advertently left the food behind. Two hours later, she called if we could get the food but no luck or help. They just don't want to be bothered Other than that, they are still able to keep their prices very reasonable. Would of been four stars but their French toast was average. It's not fluffy and nice and their sausage is actually hard. But their burritos are great! I ordered a sausage and a fantastic breakfast burrito and it was huge and filling ! The service was average but it's fine . I grabbed and left. It's conveniently next door so its okay. As I was standing at the counter ordering one of the employees she's no older than maybe 20 was extremely rude instead of asking me to move over she used her hands like I was a dog shewing me away. She had no name badge on and when I went back to the counter for a container she was hugging all up on one of the cooks she didn't even wash her hands I will not be returning and it happened today 6/12/24. And no one told her anything about being all up on one of the cooks. If I wanted to look at people being all up on top of each other, I'd go to a club. read more

Look, I like this place. I've liked it for years. But when I go into a "greasy spoon," (no offense, we love our grease), I don't expect to be treated with a laissez-faire attitude as if I was in freaking Spago. Not one staff member smiled the entire time I was there. The cashier stood at the register taking care of some of her own stuff while I stood there waiting to place my order. After what seemed like several minutes, she looked up at me, turned around and walked toward the pantry area, and came back a minute later and just looked at me. She didn't greet me or say can I help you? She just looked at me and waited for me to ask if she was gonna take my order. She had absolutely no sense of urgency. It's like she was being put upon to do her job. She took my order very smugly, and as mentioned earlier, did not smile the whole time. When my order was finally ready, another girl very casually put it in a bag and ever so slowly put a napkin in it and tossed it on the counter and said "breakfast burrito" and walked away. She did not say thank you. She did not say do you need anything else? She did not say do you need salsa? Look if I'm gonna pay TWELVE BUCKS for a breakfast burrito I'm gonna pay it at a place that will treat me with a little bit of respect. read more

We usually get breakfast burritos from Phannys on PCH but they were being buttheads and not answering our 20 calls when we tried to call in an order so we tried Fantastic Cafe! And boy was it fantastic. The breakfast burritos are really good and super big. Unless you are really hungry, i suggest sharing one with someone as they dont make the best leftover food. They have a large menu and u can add or take out whatever you want from a burrito on the menu. They are super nice and fast. Definitely willing to try it again. read more

This happens just too often so I'm leaving a review. Today is New Year's Eve and we had limited time to grab food and eat breakfast before we get ready for our plans. Placed a very simple order over the phone for takeout 1.Pancakes, sausage, over medium eggs 2Tuna melt 3.Tuna sandwich Go to pick up drive home Order is wrong. 1. Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs 2. Tuna sandwich 3. What they claim to be a tuna melt, Freezing cold sandwich, with wet lettuce so that the bread is falling apart by the time I open it. And a slice of cheese not melted. Sorry but not a tuna melt. That's a cold tuna sandwich with cheese. Not to nit pick but again this happens a lot, and the manager insisted he would only replace our order if I drove all the food back. I said I didn't have time, it's New Year's Eve and we are on a time schedule. I offered to email or text him photos of the order, and asked for a credit. He refused saying I would have to return the food. The lady I spoke to initially said the order was taken down wrong for the breakfast combo, but I guess that's our fault. The manager said he made the tuna melt personally and the cheese isn't melted because the tuna is cold. Again not a tuna melt. I am frustrated because prices go up, service goes down and we have to just deal with it. Spend our money on food we didn't order or that isn't edible, spend our gas money driving there to change it if we want the correct order: I would understand a little more if they were busy but there was 2 other people in the place. Horrible Customer Service!! Very Rude & Unprofessional!! This was my 2nd time going to this location, the first time was fine. This morning I placed my order at the counter, was not greeted and the girl at the counter looked irritated that we were there so early (6:10, they open @6:00). I asked what came in the Mexican omelette and she said ham, bell pepper, tomatoes & cheese and I ordered that and a French roast plate and 2 coffees and an orange juice. She only gave us 1 cup for the coffee and when I asked for the other cup she said that I only ordered 1 coffee and an orange juice as if I didn't know what I ordered. When she brought our food to table my omelette had carne asada in it instead of ham. I tried to eat it picking out most of the carne asada but I really didn't want it, I didn't even eat half of it. When she walked by I told her that it had the wrong meat and she just looked at me and said it should have had ham and walked away. Then I hear her ask the cook if the Mexican omelette came with ham and he told her no, it has carne asada but she never came back to the table to say anything. So when we got up to leave, I asked her what happened with the omelette and she said yes it does come with carne asada and she was wrong but I should have said something earlier when she brought it to the table. I told her she should have told me what was actually in the omelette when I asked instead of guessing, that's why I asked specifically what is in this omelette and we went back and forth because she wanted to argue about it instead of making it right. No fault of the cook, he made the order correctly, but they need to have cashiers with general customer service skills, people that are not going to argue with you when they make mistakes. I tried Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito for lunch. You can't go wrong with Carne Asada, c' on. But this meal was perfect and uber tasty. I usually don't eat the entire thing, but it was so delicious I finished it in one setting. & let me tell ya, it's a big portion and filling. I love the fact that we go to the order section to place our orders instead of having servers. This is exactly the mom and pop restaurants in rural Michigan. I'm not sure what is going on at this particular location. It seems that the Quality of their products is not what it used to be. The carne asada meat is always full of hard Grissel, just like the steak sandwiches. The pastrami has no flavor. It seems they are more concerned about the volume and not the quality of their product. And that's too bad. I used to love this place. read more

Fantastic Cafe is located at 25th and Western in San Pedro, I go here often for a quick breakfast or lunch. Located in a non-descript center (same one as Sirinit Thai & Chicago For Ribs) so parking gets cramped from time to time. Gets very crowded at peak times because their prices are reasonable. This is not a fancy restaurant, but they are not trying to be either. It's a breakfast and lunch spot that many locals go to and having said that I'll admit their grub is pretty solid. Breakfast specials are served daily and include the basics, Ham n eggs, bacon n eggs, pancakes, etc., all of which are good. Lunch is an easy bet, they have a good burger special for about $5 that includes fries and a drink. Salads are good and they even have a chicken kabob plate that I've tried and it was surprisingly good! Staff is always friendly and do their best to handle the big crowds. read more

I came here last Saturday night after working all day and I was hungry! I've been to the one on Gaffey Street but I like this one much more. The interior is much cleaner and the booths are more comfortable. My b/f and I ordered a breakfast burrito and a turkey burger with fries and a drink. It was only like $13.00...very reasonable since the burrito and burger were a really good size.
