When I called to book an appointment, I was instructed to purchase the deal directly through the business instead of Groupon. Upon arrival, I had a consultation that included a machine-based skin analysis with photos evaluating pigmentation, wrinkles, and pore size. I actually appreciated this part of the experience and found the analysis helpful. However, after reviewing the results, I was told that the Japanese facial would not be sufficient for my skin concerns and was advised to do microdermabrasion instead. The cost was $160 for a single treatment or $756 for a package of five. I agreed to try one treatment, though it ended up being more expensive than the original Groupon deal. During the facial, several things felt off. I get facials regularly, and this was the first time I was not asked to change into a towel wrap. I was wearing a long-sleeve top with a fairly high collar and remained fully clothed. A disposable headband was placed on me, and the treatment began. Midway through, the esthetician worked down to my neck and shoulders, which would have been much more appropriate had I changed into a towel wrap. As a result, product got all over my shirt. During the collagen treatment, the headband slipped off and product also got into my hair--there was so much that it looked like I had put hair gel in it. The final step was a sheet mask, after which I was left alone in the room for about 10-15 minutes. Based on my past experiences, especially at this price point, there is usually continued care during mask time, such as a head or shoulder massage, but none was provided. My forehead did feel very smooth afterward. However, the next day I developed two small pimples on my cheeks. During the treatment, extractions were done on my cheeks even though I do not typically have clogged pores in that area. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations given the cost and the recommendations made during the consultation. I left feeling uncomfortable, with product on my shirt and in my hair, which took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. I also did not feel confident about returning for future treatments. For first-time customers, it would be helpful to clearly communicate the expected length of both the consultation and the treatment. I arrived at 1:00 PM for what was described as a 60-minute service and was not finished until 2:40 PM, which nearly caused me to be late for my next meeting.
